“If you ever find yourself in Galesburg IL stop into Gray's Sandwich Shop and grab an old fashioned diner experience that cones with great food and excellent service. If you are lucky you will get some good conversation as well. Bacon double cheeseburger was perfect. The onion rings were a little bit like onion straws and I loved them.“

“The lady that was there at 4am when I went in after I got off work, was not all that pleasant but I guess when you work third shift at a truck stop it can be rough. As soon as she finished our sandwiches, she left for a break and we didn't see her the rest of the time we were there. There was a rude couple that came in yelling that there were customers here and they needed service. The counter was not well covered at that moment. We left not wanting to listen to that lady yelling.

The people are much nicer, the sit-down area is cleaner and you get enough on your sandwich to know it's a sandwich and not just a loaf of bread.“

“Im a bit of a sub snob. I had jimmie johns delivering to me years ago i wasnt happy with there subs. So Im here in Mt Vernon ill and thought what the hell. I ordered there roast beef sub and there potato salad. First the breads a huge part of a sub. As for chain places they have the best sub rolls but sadly dont offer whole wheat sub rolls. Second there meat taste exactly like Subways. . As for meat as a chain no one beats Jersey Mikes. The people here were very nice,but I dont pay for kindness I wouldnt ever buy there potato salad again its a very small quanity and really not to my liking. I would say if it wasnt for the bread whjch was awesome I would there bo better then subway... and this whole they wont put salt or pepper on the subs astounds me... there subs are suppose to be 14 inches but i did notice there more narrow...“
