“Had a fantastic experience at Epic Burger in Barrington! Having halal options is huge for us, and the food here is made fresh and delicious. I ordered the halal beef burger, and my daughter loved her halal chicken sandwich. A special shoutout to the manager, Arthur, who provided an outstanding service and made our visit wonderful. He assured us that there is no cross contamination and when my daughter ordered her shake, she was skeptical about the whipped cream (from Oberwise) so Arthur made sure that the whipped cream was not Gelatin based. Went out of the way to make sure we are satiafied. Highly recommend this spot for great food and excellent hospitality!“

“Really tasty burger. They cook it with onions but they almost mince the meat like ground beef when they serve it to you. Different, but very good. The fries were very good also - not my favorite but not bad whatsoever - I have very high standards for fries. If you're in the area, give this place some business! “We went with our Burger Club to Lucky Burgers (a.k.a. Jelly Cafe after dark or 4pm, whichever comes first).

Jelly Cafe is a breakfast and lunch place open 7am until 2pm. Then they switch over to Lucky Burgers which is open from 4pm until no one is there and they want to go home. Though technically I think they’re open until 8 or 9pm.

There are a handful of items on the Lucky Burgers’ menu: about 5 variations of their classic burger, a chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and waffle fries.

When we went, the place was empty and never got busy. Which opened the door for one of the owners, Scott, to regale us with tales of days gone by from his childhood in Evanston and the famous people he knew, grew up with, and worked with. It was nice hearing these stories and it was nice to give Scott something and somebodies to talk to as well.

The place has a large parking lot and is nice and clean on the inside. There is a tiny area with slot machines and a small bar/counter at the entrance.

The burgers are all smashburgers. They come as singles or double patties. Go for the double as there’s not a whole lot of meat once they’re smashed. The differences are the toppings. Scott recommends their housemade dijonaise sauce which is good, but ask for it on the side. The cook slathers it on the burger and that’s all you can taste. Once I scooped (you read that correctly) the sauce off my burger, it was a pretty good burger. The meat is seasoned well and cooked nicely and the bun holds up (despite dripping in dijonaise).

We all shared the chicken tenders as an appetizer. Five nice sized tenders come in the meal and you can choose your dipping sauce. Scott recommended their honey mustard which was very good and the ranch wasn’t bad either.

He is also johnny-on-the-spot to refill fill your drinks. I seriously thought that I would float away.

The best part is the price. All said and done for a burger, waffle fries, and a soda, with tax and tip is like $15-$18 bucks.

It’s a nice place that I need to go back to and visit for the Jelly Cafe side. AND return for their burgers, tenders, and more of Scott’s stories.“

“Ten years ago began my obsession with Frank’s corn nuggets. In high school, every time I had a dollar to spend, I’d head to Frank’s for an order of corn nuggets. Any time anyone asks me what my favorite food is, for the past ten years it has been Frank’s corn nuggets. Today, for the first time ever, I ordered corn nuggets and they were sold out! I told the owner about my long-held love of these fried treats and how I now live in Wisconsin but often travel to Mundelein specifically to have them. He says he has been trying to get the product in but unfortunately couldn’t get his hands on them lately. I sighed, and ordered a corn dog (closest corn substitute on the menu), onion rings, and sweet potato fries. All were great! At the end of my meal the owner surprises me with a small order of corn nuggets he had searched his supply for after I told him my story. Just great people and great times at Frank’s for the Memories as always! Frank’s holds a space in my heart forever and always and while they don’t have the corn nuggets today I will continue to return for the care and welcoming feel they always provide.

“I went in with my dad and expected a good burger and not much else. I couldn't even believe how much more I got. From the moment I got there, Alexander, the guy manning the cash register was so helpful, informative, and kind without being overbearing. I was mind blown how much he cared about his job. It left a huge impression. Turns out he was the general manager, which made sense, haha. The burger itself was so much better than I expected. I will be going back for sure. “I ordered catering from Eggville Cafe a friend of mine said their catering was amazing and I had a family gathering coming up I had to try it out! Everything was perfectly cooked they had so many different options to choose from I ordered the kebabs and a side salad, some potatoes some meatballs and a couple other things that they threw in everything tasted amazing. It was delicious and was reasonably priced if you were looking for catering for any event like a graduation coming up or birthday or family gatherings I definitely highly recommend them they were amazing and they got everything I wanted and more!!“
