The food was fresh and delicious, and the best part was that the chef Sergio sent us a dessert he had created that day. “Carnitas Uruapan is one of the handful of restaurants in Chicagoland that comes to immediately mind when someone asks for restaurant suggestions. The carnitas are insanely good. I can't remember eating having ones that are so tender and flavorful. The salsa is so balanced and flavorful, I could add it to most all foods. The chicharron are top notch, and I can't imagine getting any better. I'd come here more often but the parking is horrendous.“

One small thing that could be improved is clearer signage. There wasn’t anything indicating that you can seat yourself, so I assumed I needed to order at the counter and wait for a number 🤔 Turns out I was completely wrong, and for a moment I thought I was about to get scolded 😅 The lady at the counter helped fix my order and guided me, and then I was able to sit down.

“I visited El Milagro for the first time during a work trip and really enjoyed it! I ordered the steak platter, which came with steak, rice, beans, cabbage slaw, and their delicious corn shells. I didn’t realize they don’t serve cilantro and onions, but the salsas—especially the spicy one—were really good. The chips were delicious too!

I also tried the pineapple juice, which wasn’t overly sweet or acidic—just a really good, refreshing juice.

The steak plate was around $12, which I thought was very reasonable for the portion. Overall, a great experience, especially if you already love El Milagro’s corn shells and chips. Definitely check them out!“

Me dirijo a ustedes como un cliente frecuente y admirador de su restaurante, en el cual siempre disfruto de una comida deliciosa y un servicio excepcional. Sin embargo, en mi última visita, experimenté una situación que considero importante señalar para su atención y mejora. El día de hoy, martes 26 de noviembre, llegué a cenar a las 8:45 pm confiando en la información publicada en sus redes sociales, donde claramente se especifica que el horario de cierre es a las 11:00 pm. No obstante, a las 9:30 pm ya se estaba anunciando el "último llamado" para bebidas alcohólicas. Además, durante mi estancia, fui testigo de cómo dos familias fueron rechazadas para cenar por el mismo motivo: el restaurante estaba cerrando antes de tiempo debido a "la falta de clientes". Entiendo que puedan surgir situaciones operativas, pero considero que este tipo de decisiones impacta negativamente en la experiencia de sus clientes. Cuando se anuncia un horario de cierre, los clientes planeamos nuestras visitas en base a esa información. De no ser posible mantener el horario anunciado, sería más transparente ajustarlo oficialmente en sus plataformas para que las personas puedan planear con anticipación y, en caso necesario, optar por otras opciones. Por último, quiero mencionar que esta inconformidad fue compartida con nuestra mesera, quien nos escuchó con amabilidad. Sin embargo, creo que esta situación requiere un ajuste desde la gerencia para evitar malentendidos en el futuro. “Carnitas Don Pedro is easily the best carnitas spot in Chicago. We're regulars here, whether dining in or ordering to-go. The meat is perfectly seasoned, and the tortillas and salsa are the perfect match. I always make sure to get a taco seso to complement carnitas. I also finally tried their weekend Menudo--it was incredible, and I'll definitely be getting it next time! They have parking spaces available but be sure to get earlier.“

Their barbacoa is also very good. It’s perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth. The service is just as good every time. “This restaurant is such a hidden gem! They offer a delicious mix of Mexican, Guatemalan, and Salvadoran food, and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The pupusas and tacos and steak burrito were absolutely amazing authentic, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.

The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The customer service was just as impressive as the food.

We also ordered fresh juices, and they were so refreshing! The passion fruit juice was sweet and delicious, and the cucumber-pineapple juice was light, crisp, and perfect with our meal.

If you’re looking for authentic Central American and Mexican cuisine with excellent service, I highly recommend stopping by. We’ll definitely be back!“

From the moment we walked in, the attentive wait staff ensured our group felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. The space was impressively spacious, making it perfect for our gathering. We never felt crowded, and there was plenty of room for everyone to mingle comfortably despite sharing the 2nd floor space with other patrons (since I decided not to rent out the entire floor for myself). The TVs were a much-appreciated addition, allowing for some of my friends who were Iowa fans to watch the game and add to the lively atmosphere. Everything was so reasonably priced – great food and drinks without breaking the bank! Emailing the events coordinator was incredibly simple and they were generously accommodating for what I was looking for. It's a restaurant, but it has that bar vibe as it gets a little later in the evening. We had a running group event here last night and it was so much fun.
