“This place in fantastic. I've been going almost weekly since I moved to the city 2 years ago and I have never had a bad experience. Staff is kind and personable. Food is excellent and plentiful. And the menu is diverse enough that you never need to eat the same thing twice of you don't want to.Would give 6/5 if I could!“
“Just left quesabirria jalisco about 20 min ago took my fist bite and had to write a review, it's amazing meat good, cheese good, consome good salsas good, over all amazing I'm taking my whole family soon ? ? ?? 100/100 thank you for amazing “
“The first dish I ordered was really bad, so they gave me something else, which was very very good. It was the Burrito Suizo. It was phenomenal. The waiter was a little slow, but not his fault. The place was super busy and he was the only waiter there. You think during the holidays they would have more help.“
“I love this place. If I'm ever lucky enough to be passing through when it's still open, I always stop to pickup. Staff are always friendly, food is consistently awesome, prices are unbeatable for the portions you get, even non-main event items (the mac salad, the green salad, the juices) are awesome (always an after thought at other places). Don't ever leave, Aloha!!!!“
“Wow and excellent! All I have to say for this about this place. My first time here and you get your monies worth with quality and quantity of the carnitas here. Kinda crowded as you order but that tells you a lot. My friends out there order and enjoy!“
“This place is one of those rare gems where you can take a chance and order anything on the menu and it is guaranteed to be good. Chef Paco always welcomes you like family. My wife had been craving a Chile en Nogada for a while so we went. As was to be expected it was very good. For appetizers we went with Chef Paco's recommendations and ordered the stuffed jalapeño pepper and the vegetarian Jamaica sope. I couldn't resist ordering his famous mole enchiladas ❤️. We ordered some drinks. My wife had a Tamarind Margarita and I had a Tamarind Michelada. Truly one of the best Micheladas I've ever had. After dinner my wife ordered a Carajillo because she had also never tried one before and she enjoyed it. We did not have a dessert because we were simply stuffed but I was curious about the Chocolate Jalapeño ice cream so I ordered it to go. Needless to say, it was also very delicious ?. I can't recommend NRebozo enough. Try it for yourself.“
“Isamar is a professional at serving customer. Very friendly, helpful, beautiful and genuine server. ❤️ The chicken mole was amazing. My mom had shrimp al mojo also super fresh, best tasting in all Chicago. I'm a born and raised Chicagoan. LOVE IT!!“
“So good! Even the two omnivores in our party said YUM.Carne asada and chorizo with egg (all vegan) were the favs. Chips and guac amazing, too.I had questions (severe food allergies) and the host promptly alerted the chef who came out to discuss ingredients with me. I was thrilled to learn they make all their dairy alternatives in-house. Color me impressed.Wishing them many more locations!“
“I do like this place! I was reading the reviews. I saw the owner replied one of the complaint & I think needs to be more professional the way to say things. You never tell the customers you wrong bla bla bla. Doesn't look good. Just an advice.“
“I’m not sure what it is about the food here, but it’s surprisingly delicious! The vegetarian tacos are some of the best I’ve had and are always loaded. The house made pico is also addictive so be careful. Frozen Margaritas are the perfect consistency and mixed just right. Can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a definite must try!Vegetarian options: Veggie tacos can be made vegan with no cheese/sour cream, and cheese enchiladas“
“El Jalisciense Is a fantastic place for great service and good food. Growing up I used to see it all the time but never stopped there. Have I been missing out. Now that I moved to the area it is my go to for tacos Al pastor and tacos de chicharrón ????. If you don't know now you know so make it happen and visit El Jalisciense.“
“Consistently excellent tamales! Oxacan style tamales are not easy to find, and besides the usual meat options, Yvolina's has several creative tamales: eggplant, quinoa...The food is crazy fresh, and they have jars of homemade moles that you can tote home with you. This place has been around for awhile - they were there when I lived in Pilsen nearly a decade ago - and it is a family run operation. There is a reason why they have won so many awards!“
“It’s a small restaurant but is packed with flavor and personality. Chef Sergio Perez was awesome, constantly checking on tables and making sure everyone was good, along with the rest of the staff. The food was great! Quality ingredients with reasonable prices and great flavor. You can tell the owner really cares about the food he puts out. Everything I had tasted great and was quality food. I don’t think there always anything I tried that I didn’t like. Can’t pick a favorite so try it all for yourself!“
“The birria was very good, except that I ordered two dishes and one order of tacos they only gave me one lemon, but I think that happens to all of us. Super recommended. In addition, they take the delicacy of giving you the shredded meat, which implies an extra effort that many do not make. “
“Stopped in for a quick bite and immediately felt welcome. The gentleman and woman behind the counter were so friendly and warm. I felt like I was eating at a family member’s house. Food was made right there in front of me and delivered hot. I got tacos and some soup, both were delicious. You could tell they put a lot of love in their food. I left in a better mood, wishing I could stay longer. I look forward to dining here again :)“
“We drove all the day from Des Moines just to try the birria and we were not disappointed it was the best birria we have ever tried ! Their service was amazing they made us feel at home. We are definitely driving back to Chicago just to eat here again !“
“Yesterday was my first time coming to this location. The food was very delicious, the portions were more than enough, I will definitely be back! There is one thing they can improve, they need a sign that says you can seat yourself. I assumed you ordered at the counter and got a number, I was flat out wrong and thought I was going to get scolded by the lady at the counter. She rearranged my order and I sat down.“
“This was my first visit here. First, the service was really great and we were attended by several people. Secondly, the steak tasted well made and wasn't chewy. Thirdly, the margaritas were well balanced and had a hint of sweetness. I recommend a frozen margarita from here. Overall, a nice little Mexican spot to visit with your family.Photos below:1. “My first visit here has been awesome! A super friendly woman greeted me, and took my order at the counter. I had chips and salsa and a chicken chimichanga and they were a 10 out of 10 on the flavor scale. The chips were fantastic as were the salsas and the pico de gallo. The chicken chimichanga was one of the best I've ever had anywhere.. I also had the Jamaica to drink, sweetened hibiscus based tea that was wonderful with my spicy food! I will definitely be back to this restaurant again and again!“
“Random stop as I had to go to my worksite for the day. I ordered to-go but was able to take a look around and it appeared to be a quite cozy spot with a good atmosphere and nice crowd. That spoke "this place must be pretty good" to me. And it was as well as the service. I ordered two types of birria tacos for me and my son, the chicken and lamb. They were delicious and made me want to try more menu items. This spot made the "return to" list.Parking: It is a shared lot with another business.“
“I've been going there since 99' whe I worked in the area. Now I don't work anywhere near there, but I make the trip usually once a month. The wife is always kind out front, and the husband can always be heard whistling in the back.Best Mexican food in the city.“
“Doña Naty's Taco offers an authentic taste of Mexico with every bite. The tacos are a flavor explosion, filled with high-quality ingredients and seasoned to perfection. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service make it a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Mexican street food. A true gem in culinary delights!“
“My first experience with 5 Rabanitos was with a friend who lived around the corner and wanted to try the then-brand-new restaurant. We immediately loved the authenticity of the food mixed with the chef’s unique flair - a flair that kept the food feeling authentic. Since that first trip with my friend, I have made 5 Rabanitos one of my go-to spots for dates, hanging out with friends, and takeout. I liked when they were BYOB, but now I LOVE that they have a drink menu! Absolute gem, authentic Mexican food with a fun twist, uplifting environment and great prompt service. I always order the Fried Plantains. They’re magical.“
“Best carnitas around pilsen not expensive and you are able to eat your food inside the restaurant. It's crowded on the weekends service can be faster if there was more than two registers but the food is excellent!Kid-friendliness: Families are welcome with their children!“
“The young man there is one of the best servers I've ever had. Kept the table clean and free of all used plates as soon as we were done with a plate or cup, kept our coffee topped off, checked in on us many times, got our order taken immediately and got our food to us faster then anywhere else I've been lately. The food is pretty good here but we go for the service. Also, this particular server is a pretty good conversationalist. I saw all servers busing tables immediately and cleaning many surfaces constantly. I was very impressed by that. The only downside here is the parking situation. Limited spots in the lot behind and good luck with any street parking. The sunflower seed atole is excellent. The white atole is so-so. Their lemonade( with or without chia) are fresh, made, and excellent. Huevos divorciados are very good. The Lomo is very tender and well seasoned but on the fattier side (if you add that). Pancakes are good, enchiladas de Mole are very good, (both beef and chicken) Milanesa dinner is excellent (well seasoned, good breading, crispy outside and tender inside), they give you a nice sized portion for the price. Beans and rice are not very seasoned and have less salt than I'm used to, but they still are good and taste fresh. The kids' hamburger is terrible. It's obviously a cheap frozen patty made with by-products. I don't recommend it. But their fries are amazing. The fries taste like they are cooked in fresh fry oil every time we get them. They are fresh cut fries. They have a wonderful flavor. Their coffee is pretty good, too, but not on the strong side.Parking: There is free parking in the lot behind it, but there are only maybe about 8 spots. So the lot is hit or miss. It's is extremely hard to find street parking.“
“Their delicious food never ceases to surprise us, every time I visit Chicago it is a place that I cannot pass up and eat their freshly poured tortillas and their mole café de la holla. In short, I recommend it ?+ their excellent service. Thank you ??“
“They have very good drinks they look very fancy. I usually always go and get their Al pastor wings. I don’t know any other place where they make those they were pretty good. I just wish they gave you extra napkins because they can be very messy.“
“Great Chilaquiles. Great service for the limited staff. Be aware that this place is very small and would probably be waiting for a table or you would be taking your food to go. I would definitely go back and wait for a table to eat there again. So bring your patience, it's worth the wait!“
“I was winding down my night out with family and we had a major taco craving! We wanted to try something new (to us) that would also be open semi late and was not a full blown dine in.We yelped this and made our way over...this is in the neighborhood which means parking is not the easiest so it may possibly be a double parking blinker situation. It's a little tent with a grill and everything is made to order. There was a nice clip of walk ups and he cooks until no more folks roll up...so although Yelp says 11pm...if there are people ...they will be fed! Since it's in the neighborhood definitely want to be cognizant of not being rowdy.I had 2 carne asada steak tacos and a steak quesadilla! Flavors were on point! I ate a taco out of the trunk of my hatchback and had a quarter of the quesadilla...and was stuffed! Took the rest home and had a whole other meal!Fairly quick, tasty, no frills street tacos! Level of sketchy was mild but as in anywhere..when out later, you'll want to be aware of your surroundings.“
“I had beans and chicken catered from Pollo Express for a party. Everyone LOVED and raved about the chicken. We had many people ask where we got the chicken from. They loved it just like I do.On the day when we ordered the chicken (a day or two prior to the party), my sister and I sat down in the restaurant and tried their chicken quesadilla. ? it was so good and the portions were huge. Affordable too. This place has some amazing chicken! I HIGHLY recommend this Pollo Express to eat! Order the chicken.“
“Delicious carnitas and good advice. Just be careful because after so many times of going there I just realized today that my tip was automatically added on my card and I had left a tip on the table. Now I'm wondering how many times I have left tip twice.“
“It was a good steak bowl. Good portion, Sauces were also very good, so was the service, the place looks cool...I don't give 5 stars cause there was no mention of extra fee for steak (as there is for shrimp for example) and I am sure I am not alone as a hater of hidden fees. Still worth it but all charges should be mentioned beforehand.“
“As soon as you are seated, they bring you water and ask if you want anything specific to drink, then they bring you teast of the daily special all this before you order ,then when you ask for the check they bring you another teast of their daily desert. Very good place to go eat at .“
“Wish I could give service a 6/5. Food was out in 5 minutes and the woman running the front was above and beyond accommodating allergies. The food was so good I forgot I was ordering Mexican food in the midwest. Parking was an issue but thats the only complaint.Dietary restrictions: Very nice and accommodating. Cannot recommend it enough.“
“First off, service was great and a clear example of how it should be at all restaurants. Margs were good, tacos were good. I’d probably skip on the pork belly taco but that’s just me.I’m not a big guac fan at all but the pineapple guac here was quite tasty. I think this really deserves a 4.5, but hey, we’ll round up today!“
“This place has the best philly steak I've ever had! Owner is super kind and looks to make your day! The ingredients taste so fresh. The food is so good I will come here any time I'm looking for a good meal. Also they give amazing portions!“
“Im the pickiest fat kid I know and if you know me, you know! ? Ordered from this place today and let me tell you, the food was delicious!!! I haven’t had this good a tacos in a long time!! This place is where its at and Im glad i finally decided to stop. Dont know what took me so long?My new go to spot❤️“
“Can't believe it took us 3 years to find this local gem! The food was amazing, to say the least. We tried the chicken milanesa & steak tortas, and the carne en su jugo - everything was spectacular!! Reminded us of a place that didn't survive the pandemic - so to find another authentic restaurant that puts so much love into what would normally just be a torta, we were ecstatic!! They even make homemade corn tortillas, the flavor which immediately took me to my childhood - soooo good! Worth every penny!Update: Went back today. The tlayuda con carne was amazing!! The presentation was beautiful & the taste was unreal. Too good!! Can't wait to bring my family back!“
“Their avocado and pesto panini is so delicious and they have tamales oaxaqueños that are very authentic! The shakes are delicious too I suggest the green juice one or the berries, if you are vegan they have vegan food too and vegetarian and for omnivores so you can bring everybody here who has a sensitive palate (not sure on kosher so heads up on that) they have Mexican vegetarian and vegan food too and they are happy to substitute due to allergies!“
“Easily the best authentic Mexican joint in the area. I've lived in West Town, Wicker Park, and now River West for the last 5 years and it's impossible to find a place better. There may be places out there just as good, but I have a hard time believing any place is actually better. The guys are really nice and friendly too. Always a great experience!“
“Very fresh and delicious food for reasonable prices. Fast service. Atmosphere is clean and lots of seating. The fries are best eaten in restaurant hot, fresh, and crispy. My family and friends always enjoy great tacos here too.Vegetarian options: Paneer Taco and BurritoRice and Beans“
“One of pilsen finest. I use to eat his tacos when he was working for someone else now he has his own business. Humble and welcoming food spot. Arrachera tacos order them with rice and beans. They don't chop up the steak so it's just right. Old school style.“
“I always love Burrito Feliz ever since the first time I came, they have karaoke they have great staff including the cooks, they are always happy and smiling and willing to explain to you anything on the menu they do Uber eats and GrubHub. They're really nice people and now they have. hamburgers and fries. I do not come for that but I'm trying it today because the ladies on evening staff said to try. I think it's just a great place with great food.“
“Lovely Mexican restaurant. This is our local favorite for some quality comfort food. It was the first place we went to when we moved to Little Village, and we keep returning because it’s delicious and the service is friendly. Everything I’ve had so far has been a hit! Chicken mole, burritos, pozole, tacos, all amazing.“
“Very very good food at a great price, lovely atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend! The chips are served warm and salsa is smoky and unique. The steak tacos are excellent! The red salsa is mild and delicious but I am a big fan of the salsa verde, think hot lime. So good, so unique, so full! All for less than $15 including tip. Thank you for being here, can't wait to go back for a full meal!“
“I like so much. The menu week is a good price. My favorites are; Aguachile sea food, green pozole, enchiladas ,tacos Al pastor and Chile relleno, I very strongly recommended it’s so good . Also latino music “Salsa”Vegetarian options: Chips with guacamole, Enchiladas without chicken and Chile relleno of veggies !“
“The owner of this restaurant is a sweetheart! Very kind and hard working. The tacos were fabulous and so affordable! We did pork tacos and breakfast tacos. She didn’t sell Topo Chico and recommended we stop by the grocery next door and BYOB- which was very kind of her. The place could use a little organizing, you can tell this is a one woman run business. She’s doing a really great job, it was a delight.“
“I kept forgetting if I've left a review for this place or not, so I came to check, and I see that I haven't yet. As a current UIC student, this place is a stone's throw away from the east campus. This is somewhere that you HAVE to go to at least once while you're a student. It is worth it.This was the first place that I've had quesabirria at, and I have walked here several times while on campus for the day just to get the quesabirria again. No questions asked, this is the one place that I will come back to again and again for some quesabirria.I still remember the first time I tried their quesabirria. Hell, the very first time I came here, I actually got the torta, and it was incredibly good too! But the quesabirria is the real star of the show here. From bite one, you can tell that the cooks in the back are bursting at the seams with passion. Birria is notorious for taking a very long time to make, but the wait makes it so worth making. It takes a lot of care to get it right. Every time I've gotten it here, it is perfectly made. Opening the box in a room full of other people causes quite a bit of jealousy, as the first time I ate it in the SEL, a couple of students were coming down the stairs from the second floor, and they could smell it from up there! I swear on my life that this birria is worth getting.“
“I'm pretty sure they have the best tacos on the planet! The homemade tortillas are amazing. Their restaurant is very clean, great atmosphere, and great staff as well. I live about an hour or so from this place and it is worth the drive.“
“Been stopping here 2-3 times a week for several months now, and this is definitely my favorite food stop in 10 mile radius. The Mexican kitchen is part of the store, and produces delicious selection of fresh-made meat and vegetarian options. Tacos are made fresh before your eyes. pricing very reasonable. they have good tomales and impenadas as well.“
