“How could a bar cure my aversion to celery?!? I’m not sure, but it happened. I met a friend here, and after a fun couple of hours sampling the epic novel of a beer list, we went for the moule frites. I was mainly interested in the frites, especially when I saw the celery on the mussels. But I did try them, and their broth. The broth!! It was otherworldly. After a few bites, I realized the magic ingredient had to be the celery. And the rosemary, thyme, onion, and probably a beer brewed by the Belgian monks. Go here, people.“

“The food came out in generous portions. MI vs. MN game and White Sox streaming with drink specials ($5 Modelos and Mimosas) to go along.
The server, delightful middle-aged guy in rainbow tie-dye treated us well!
The patio looked awesome (tho’ we chose a high top).
2:00 and their brunch and lunch menus were being served. Their croissant breakfast sammie and their BLAAT on sourdough were served with fresh arugula. The American fries and French fries were really good!“

“Stopped by for the Guinness but decided to have dinner as well. The shepherds pie and the castleisland baked onion soup were both delicious. The Guinness was great too. Our bartender was very friendly and service was excellent. We'll be back!“

“I’m going to be so honest and say I’ve never been there but we can’t wait to. The owners and their family saved Thanksgiving when they donated food, resources and a kitchen to prepare food for 400-500 people (free of charge) at the 28th annual Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Benedict’s when the church’s kitchen became unusable. We met Halsted personally while volunteering and we were just take aback at how generous, kind and lovely these folks were to take on this challenge and on a holiday. I hope our community will continue to remember this and support these fantastic folks for a long, long time.“

“This one deserves a longer review. I find it very rare to taste authentic, yet modern, Greek food outside Greece. Unfortunately, most other attempts mess up something (lettuce in Greek salad), take culinary shortcuts, diffuse Mediterranean elements to attract customers. Not this one. Noema, which translates to meaning, is an exception I'd travel to Chicago to remember how great Greek food it. Keep it up folks and come to Texas!“

“Went with some friends for food and a couple games and it was a solid time. Ordered the legit nachos and the chicken & waffle baller. Nachos were loaded and the chicken was crispy with good seasoning on the waffle. Place is huge with all the bowling and activities so it’s easy to hang for a while. Drinks were strong too. I’d go back for another round of games and food.“

“I'm traveling for work, just landed in Chicago, went to go to the USO, and was told, as a veteran having had deployed to Iraq, that I am not allowed in the USO by some civilian. That's wild. Guy said he needed DoD id, then I pointed to where my member ID was. He said not good enough and told me I had to leave. I've gone to a lot of USO's and never been turned away as a vet.“
