“Took my family to MAS-ICNA convention and stayed at Hampton Inn next door. Gave Krave a shot. Probably 1 of the best experiences I've had in all of Chicago. Courteous, caring, comfort, and everything good in between. It gave me comfort that owner was of same background as I was to so that's a cherry on top in itself.

Food was top tier. Portions are beyond generous. Staff extremely thoughtful. I can't speak enough praise about this place. They deserve their success and so much more. This is my go to spot when I come back down again

And this place was packed and the ambiance is amazing.

Enjoyed an Old Fashion; however, the hummus and griddle cake app was probably the best thing I have eaten in years.

I will definitely have to stop in for a proper meal with an update. Staff was friendly and accomodating to a “walk-in”.“

“The night before our wedding, we brought our parents out for a nice, quiet dinner before the wedding festivities. I dropped a note in the reservation system about the special occasion and appreciated the recognition from the staff with a nice note, little sign, and a rose!

“Had a great experience here twice while in Chicago for the National Restaurant Show. Once for brunch and once for dinner !! Let's start with brunch.. It was out of this world, staff was friendly and attentive, the hazy ipa was crisp and ice cold, then the tour of the menu kicked off and I was In foodie heaven! I warned the bar tenders I would need some Boxes as I was about to do a dining tour through the menu.. the anchovy toast was #insanegood, the pimento cheese eclair was out of this world, the oysters were fresh, the Benedict was crazy with boudin noir blood sausage crab hollandaise sauce on eclair style muffin! The French omelet with caviar was crazy good it was floating in an amazing sauce and the eggs were perfectly cooked and the caviar was the perfect garnish , the asparagus with poached egg with the sauces it was hanging out in were top notch .. The loyalist burger was fire and I am hard to please on burgers.. the details on everything were impressive all in a casual spot downstairs from the Michelin level concept the chef has !! To finish off the meal one of the best things I have ever had was the pistachio eclair !! WOW WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!! Came Back a few days later for dinner service and did the same thing started out ordering a stack of boxes so I could work my way thru the dinner menu !! The Spence farm egg with caviar app was amazing !! The French onion eclair was another genius chef creation with an eclair, the cod quenelles, the beef Tartare, and endive salad were on point in all the ways .. then came the mains .. ordered the ocean trout and the gnocchi dish as a side kick .. both of those were some of the best dishes I have had .. the skin was so crispy on the trout but not burnt like how did you get this so perfect .. secretes of the kitchen is how .. the preparation and plate up with the trout was nothing short of a perfect pairing and the gnocchi made another side kick but could have been an amazing entree .. then to finish it off the orange 🍊 glazed brioche dessert that was flambéd table side was the perfect ending to a 5 Stars all around memorable Dining experience !! When in Chicago this chef and team is a must try! I will for sure visit their Michelin level experience as this was Michelin level In A causal environment!!“

“Good food. Large place so plenty of seating. 2 bars. Server claimed they were “changing” things so the Happy Hour was 3-5. All sign’s said 3-6. Ok….. he was a bit slow too but it was convenient cuz our hotel was across the street.“

“The food here is excellent! The flavors are unique, and the portions are large. They always bring a demitasse of soup right when you are seated which is delicious. The service is excellent... the wait staff, bartenders and bus boys were attentive, quick and knowledgeable. Everything I've ever had here is great. But it is not inexpensive! One of our favorite dishes is the cauliflower... but it is $24! My friend ordered the octopus, which was perfectly cooked and came with crispy chickpeas and potatoes. So good! I ordered the tostadas de pescado, which was also delicious. Although pricey... I will definitely be back.“

A special mention goes to our server, Sasa, who was incredibly attentive and provided great suggestions. He even surprised us with complimentary limoncellos, which were absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we had the grilled octopus and hummus—both prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we chose the Dover sole and Amish chicken. These dishes were exceptional and stood out as some of the best we've ever had. The potatoes served with the sole were also a delightful surprise. Starting from the first day that we went to see The Elm we were treated with the upmost respect and professionalism. We had our ceremony in the Kensington room, and our reception in the Madison room. “Daverns is a very popular bar. The staff is nice and attentive. Because of its popularity sometimes you have to wait a little bit but what can you expect on weekend when you’ve got a big crowd, live music & people enjoying themselves with a feel good atmosphere? The outdoor area is great and live music performs there during the summer months and inside during the colder months. There are bag games to play and if you want to host an adult birthday party or an event in a bar type of atmosphere this is the place to have it. They have a special event area in the back and if you like to play slots, there are some slots located in the front. While I don’t drink we have friends that do and we have been patronizing Daverns for years as our friends and my husbands bands play here . We haven’t really ordered food from here yet so I can’t review the food. I’m just reviewing the service and the atmosphere. They have specials from time to time and just really seem to me that they are all about the customers and running a great bar business. We have been treated so well every time we come which is why we keep coming back. So if you’re in the Justice area and want to stop at a great little bar/lounge give Daverns a try. .“

“We saw that this place has bacon, sausage, and cheese and we decided that was the place for us. We went a few hours before a Lady Gaga show at the United Center and saw that they do free shuttle service to the United Center for concerts and Blackhawks and Bulls games. The shuttle service started at 6 p.m. and we weren't there long enough, but what a service for an establishment with craft beers to have. Even if you don't need the service it's very walkable to the United Center, btw.

We started out on the back patio. Great atmosphere and very cozy. We did end up going inside to the bar due to mosquitoes always thinking I'm delicious.

I got the Beer & Bacon sausage which was absolutely delicious. Huge chunks of bacon, house made beer mustard, and crisp red onions topping the sausage. I'm not usually a mustard fan but the beer cheese mustard was delicious and I love beer cheese. Definitely hid the mustard flavor, or at least neutralized it. The crispy red onions added the perfect amount of crunch, making each bite satisfying.

My husband got the crispy mac and cheese bites, which comes with chili and beer cheese. The chili sort of reminded me of Cincinnati-style chili, which I'm not a fan of (sorry!) but the cheese bites with that delicious beer cheese really hit the spot. The bites were the perfect crisp level.

We got the Kaiser Tiger/Dovetail Hefewizen which was easy to drink and amazing on a warm day after walking around. I then switched to the Kaiser Tiger/Dovetail Pils which was perfectly smooth and dry, again perfect on a toasty day.

Now for my favorite part of the experience: DAN! When we arrived hardly anyone was there (they'd just opened and it was a Wednesday afternoon) and Dan was the bartender/server. He was so nice and answered my questions about the patio cat aptly named Bacon (cute!). When we went to the bar he was so nice and personable. We told him we were from the Nashville area and we talked about the cesspool that is Broadway, hockey, indie movie theaters in Tennessee and Chicago, and movies (he has great taste). He was so cool and it really heightened our experience at this already cool place. Definitely check Kaiser Tiger out and if Dan is there and has time, have a chat with him“

“My Fraternity Brother Anthony Williams and partner Byron Diggs when not bringing great joy as a part of the Our Lady of Our Lady of Africa Parish, Chicago Eucharistic Ensemble have a great Cafe in Maywood right off of I 290. It is called Meal of the Day and has some great southern cuisine in an establishment on the 4th floor of a business complex overlooking I 290. It is appointed with some great art from notable black artists . There is also a banner from Hales Franciscan Class of 1979 , not sure what that’ s all about .. lol! They also do on site catering and have fed the masses after masses at their home church . Check them out ! My fraternity brother has been telling me for years to make the drive and wifey and I finally did and it was so worth it ! .“
