“PRICES ARE UP! WAY WAY WAY UP! THEY HAVE INCREASED BY A LOT! I only get the jerk chicken all white dinner with cabbage and mac n cheese. You pay for bread, platines and extra jerk sauce. That's what my rating is based on! It went from$22 to $26 that's a $4 increase which I think is to much. Oh and I paid with cash! So no card fee like some places. Sadly instead of going once a week, it will be a while before I go again. The cost is getting out of hand!“

“They need to be arrested because it should be a crime for food to taste this good! Everything was scrumptious. The oxtails litteraly melt in your mouth, the chicken alfredo tasted like a Jamaican grandma made it (tip: add some jerk sauce into the Alfredo and you get a whole other kick!!) in her kitchen! The Jerk chicken had so much flavor it didnt need the sauce and the piece de resistance: The Beef Patties!! The crust was super flaky and the mincemeat well spiced. Finally: the portions are megasized. I shared with 4 people and still had so much left! Even though the restaurant was 30 minutes from my office, everything arrived piping hot, so their packaging is top notch! Run, dont walk to Jerk It Iz. My whole office is ordering from them tomorrow!“

“Ate here tonight and the food was wonderful. We had jerk turkey tips, jerk salmon and shrimp, yam, greens, cabbage, Mac and cheese and fried rice. Everything was tasty, hot, freshly made and spicy. The ladies were super friendly, helpful and provided great service. We will definitely be back to try other items. Ask about the specials that aren’t in the regular menu. Yum!“

“Ja’ Grill is a great find in Hyde Park. The atmosphere is lively, the music is on point, and the booths make the whole space feel comfortable and inviting. It’s the kind of place you settle into easily.

Our server was a standout. Friendly, attentive, and refreshingly honest. When we asked whether the portions were generous, she said yes and she meant it. That kind of straightforwardness goes a long way.

I had the chicken curry, which came well portioned with rice, lentils, cabbage, and carrots, plus four good pieces of chicken and potatoes. The flavor was solid and satisfying.

My boyfriend went with the oxtail plate, which was enormous. He was very hungry and left full. It’s a unique spin on a classic, not the most traditional preparation, but it holds its own.

Highly recommend if you’re in the Hyde Park area. Plenty of street parking on Park Boulevard, and the neighborhood itself is worth the trip.“

How do you advertise something as a “ dinner” and then have the AUDACITY to charge people for rice and peas. That is soo absurd! It’s extremely expensive for trash food and rude service. “I love jerk palace I eat at this location everytime I visit Chicago. My father passed away so i decided to book them for catering for his repast services yesterday. I REGRET THAT SO MUCH I spent $1,090 THE CATERING FOOD WAS TERRRIBLE all of the chicken was burnt, rice wasn’t fully cooked and mac was super soupy… So that being said the food is good for a take out order but do not book them for catering they can’t handle it…. I even went in to complain in person n I was just told sorry while spending $118 more dollars on single meals. But I own a food business in mn and in this situation some kind of resolution should have been made a credit or something. That was nasty work!“

“I’m bias because this is my neighborhood jerk but to be fair all my jerk dinners have been on point. Rice and peas are a solid base and the spice of the sauce is the best compliment. Even the mac is even decent. Don’t have to trust me - Not like I’ve ever gone anywhere.“
