“i recently had a disappointing experience at a restaurant that I felt compelled to share. I went there for dinner with my fiancée, mother, and our two young kids, ages 3 and 1. Initially, the dinner was fantastic; we were enjoying our time together and the food was great. However, after about an hour and 20 minutes, we were abruptly told we had to leave because of other reservations. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I still had my drink left, and we had just paid our tab As we were leaving, we encountered a manager and inquired about the situation. To our shock, she responded by asking if we knew how to read English, which felt incredibly rude and unprofessional. I pulled up my reservation online and nowhere does it say there was a time limit. To make matters worse, as we walked through the bar to exit, she followed my mother and physically shoved her three times. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any establishment, and it left a sour taste in what could have been a lovely evening. We called the cops to make a report as the manager "lucy" (she told me this was her name) should never be able to touch a customer. Especially since we were not refusing to leave AND my kids were there to witness it all. In the car my son kept asking why the lady pushed my mom . This shouldn't be something I need to answer as it never should have happened. She tried telling the cops she did not have the "intent" to hurt but to get us out . Yet we were not even refusing to leave...only letting her know it was rude as we still had stuff that was unfinished that we paid for. I understand that restaurants have to manage reservations, but there are respectful ways to handle these situations. Additionally, she left it up to the waiter to tell us we had to leave . I won't be returning, and I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. And please , if you were in the bar / restaurant when this all happened , speak up on how wrong it was of her to push someone like that.“

“This is one of a few times when I wanted to give the service a 10. When you’re greeted by such a fantastic and smiling cashier, Kaley, who is also the general manager then you know it’s going to be great!

The gyros were fantastic. The fries were some of the best I’ve had in a long time…so fresh! They mistakenly gave my wife regular fries when she wanted sweet potato fries, and switched it out without any complaining and big smiles!

If you haven’t tried out this place, you should!“

“This is some of the very best ramen I have ever had. And it's in my backyard!! After spending 2 weeks working on Los Angeles and going to ramen places every day, I fell in love with ramen in a way that found its way to the core of my heart. In the Chicago land area, for years, there was really only 2 places that were amazing. And to be honest, better than the places in LA. But then Tatsu opened and my wife and I were judgemental at first.... Until we ate it. The ramen is un-freaking-believably amazingly mouth watering and the service of the staff is just so welcoming and warm and real. I never feel rushed even when the place is packed (I'm looking at you Saturday nights). I feel like they want me here. And I'm happy to be so. Tatsu has become my absolute favorite ramen place to go to.

I'm actually nervous about going to Japan this year because of all the ramen shops we already have lined up to visit .. but something in me is screaming that when I get home to Elgin I will be welcomed with my favorite Spicy Garlic Tonkatsu waiting for me.

“We went to Woodfire for my birthday. The food and service is excellent. Vicki was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. The food is so fresh and homemade. The pizza crust is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. There is an assortment of types of pizza, but the cheese pizza is the best I’ve ever had. The pasta is rich and delicious. It’s cooked perfectly and the vodka sauce is amazing. The appetizers, home brewed beer, and desserts are phenomenal too. Step aside Coopers Hawk, I have a new favorite restaurant!“

“The evening we went it was very cold out so the restaurant was not extremely busy. This restaurant will be one of regulars. We shared small plates which were among the best we ever had. Wi has the bread, most delicious toppings, the tomotoes were outstanding. Along with bacon wrapped dates with pistachio. Llarge dates, with a warm honey sauce wrapped in bacon and topped with crumbles nuts. Equally good. The topper was the chacuterrie board. Best we've ever had. Uniquie cheeses and Meats along with apples, nuts and sweet dried cranberries. The owner explained about the cheeses and meats and where they came from. Very, very, good. And we enjoyed being informed. Our waitress, Jan was perfect. Introduceed herself and provided attentive yet not intrusive service. The chef stopped by our table as well. This would be our neighborhood favorite but is worth the travel, which was only 25 minutes for us.“

“I don't think l've tried Pizza better than this in Illinois. We stopped off at Georgio's while taking a stroll through Downtown Crystal Lake and our stomachs started rumbling. I'd never been, but it got high remarks from family members. 4 of us stopped in around noon. The place was nearly empty, but l've heard it gets really crowded at night. The atmosphere was cute and clean, and our server was friendly. We split a Large (14") Pizza with mushrooms and sausage. It was really good, and filled all of us up. Crust was delicious, but it could have used just a tad more sauce. The atmosphere, service, food, and pricing were all very satisfactory, and there wasn't any issues, so l'm giving Georgio's a 5.“

“1776 was a true delight! We spent the 4th of July here 🇺🇸. The food was truly an inspiration. Our waiter Josh was an absolute gem and sweeter than sorghum. We will return and request him as our waiter every time. Love this place.“

“My waiter was good and friendly. I sat in covered patio. I ordered a spring salad with shrimp. blackberries, grapefruit, candied pecans, arugula and berry vinaigrette and a side of Mac n cheese. The salad was missing the pecans but I forgot until I left, I thought something was missing. However, the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The ratio of shrimp to half portion was good. Mac N Cheese was ok. Noodles were undercooked and some still hard/crunchy edges and cheese sauce was just average and a bit gritty/thick. However, I was not expecting my meal to be served with plastic wrapped plastic utensils. a take home box for salad and a take home container for dining in. That was disappointing. the table of eight next to me was a bit shocked too to get their meals in to go cardboard containers.“
