“Part of a secret Society of pirates“
“This is a standard biker destination. Great place to pull over and relax with a cold drink. Very friendly staff, great view of the river and all the passing river traffic from the outdoor deck. I come here wherever I'm out that way.“
“Been at Big Basin for about 9 years now, love it there. It's the closest to home and the lowest price of the three marina's on this section of the river. I just need a launch ramp and a dock, but have really enjoyed Big Basin. Parking lot gets a tad crowded on the weekends (of course).“

“Kindly note that this is an adult wine and cocktail bar with carefully curated small plates, catering exclusively to a 21+ crowd. Great owners, staff, libations and eats. Served by Madison last night who was just delightful. No dress code but folks seem to take it up a notch from brewery wear.“

“A small group of us went last Friday. We all ordered drinks and the Blue Gill Special. The fish was really good and the prices for other items on the menu were reasonable. They have a small salad bar that comes with alot of meals, and this to was simple but nice. The owner found out that this was our first time, and came over to chat. What wonderful customer service. Will definitely be back.“

“Aaron the bartender is great! Thank you! So friendly, so kind. The drinks are super fun / cute, and I especially recommend the pina colada. The service is excellent, the vibe is very cute. Went on a Tuesday night around 9-10:30 - it was quiet which was nice, but livened up towards the end. The drinks could be a bit better which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5 - but I'll absolutely be back :)“
“Bartender Kerri is the best shes got a great personality very friendly. She should be the full time bartender there, she comes up with the best drinks. Known her for a long time she love what she does always has a smile on her face. She said she’s only there on Sunday’s? Why I’d like to come to this bar more and she needs more days or evenings. “Met some friends for the Cubs opening day game on one of several television screens. I ordered a half pound burger from Thayer Brothers which is next door. It was prepared perfectly paired with fries and some tasty chicken noodle soup. I was in the mood for a beer on tap and was told they have not had "on tap" for over two years due to the pandemic. I hope they get that situation remedied when I go back.“
“Low key bar, not a big place but cozy. They have slot machines but no pool tables ? Bartender was very attentive to our needs and came over to chat while I was playing my favorite slot machine, she also enjoyed playing the same game. I know this is random but the Women's bathroom door was the cutest ever. Outside looks like a small cramped but nope. It was surprisingly big and clean“

“Food was really good. Drinks were very reasonably priced as well as the pizza we had. Joe came out and asked us how everything was. Loni was really nice and made sure if we needed something that we were well taken care of. I love the fact that they kept it true to how it was when originally built but with modern upgrades. Will for sure come back next time I go to visit my brother.

Not many pool tables,about 2-3 its mainly a younger crowd of peeps that head in there.
Bartenders are very friendly as soon as you come inside you are acknowledged 😃

“I stopped in and had a few drinks. The bartender was friendly, not a vast selection of hard alcohol, but they had the regular stuff. I asked for food, but no food was available. 2 pool tables, one dart machine, slot machines with a touch game, and iTunes. It was a small place with no table setting, only a bar, but it looked clean and cozy. The bartender seemed very relaxed.“

“Was in Joliet and happened upon this bar and decided to stop. Best decision ever !!! The Bloody Mary’s are one of the best I’ve ever had and at a reasonable price ! They also had a nice choice of craft beers and a very welcoming bartender! We plan on stopping by every time we are in town !!!“

“I liked it, nice clean facility. Nice big bar area, the grill was clean and the lady cook was very nice, i asked for my amburger in a special way and she accommodated me. My oakbrook OTB is my favorite, been going there for years, but nice to try someplace different. Hawthorne club is a great get away to relax and have fun.“

“My cousin took me here for my birthday and I had a great time!! The bartender, Shelly, was the sweetest, nicest person ever! She was so helpful at picking drinks for me. I haven't been to very many bars and I really don't drink but she helped me pick out a couple really good drinks! The atmosphere and the other people drinking at the bar was so good. Everyone was so nice and just wanted to have a good time. At a point I even met parts of her family. I love a family bar ? ? Thank you for an awesome birthday!! ???“
