“Really good. Consistent. Beef, chicken, pork, shrimp tacos are all tasty, not too salty, and NOT TACO BELL. Good quesadilla. Enjoy the rice and beans. A reasonable price. Not much parking but ok. Watch for the lights to be on, later hours Friday and Saturday.“

“This is truly a hidden gem in downtown Joliet. Food was absolutely delicious. We tried the pollo anticuchero, the lomo saltado and the papa a la huancaina and it was all very tasty. I had the parchita for a drink and it was also very good. We will definitely be back.“

“Tried it the first time in three years and it has improved so much. I was left thinking out going again just because the tacos were a good portion, the pastor was the right amount of greasy not dry but the only two recommendations I had was the meat needed just a little more flavor and the red salsa was not spicy at all but was a good texture not like the water some places have in place of salsa.“

“I love this place so much!! The make awesome tamales!! I would highly recomend getting one of their chicken ones. The service was also really great!! They let my little brother pick go up to the fridge and pick out his soda or juice that he wants!! They're so sweet to him!! They are family freindly and are really good with misunderstandings. One time we thought that there was a hair in my tamale, and we shoved it in a napkin. They explained that it was a corn husk hair, and offered to give me another tamale. The people here are really kind! The Bathrooms are also really clean. I'd rather go in their bathroom then a McDonalds restroom. I really hope that people will try their delious food, and agree that the service is really good, even on busy days.“

“Just wanted to share my love for El Zarape in Joliet! It's become my go-to spot. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but their tacos and tortas are amazing. Seriously, they're so generous with the meat – way more than other Mexican places I've been to. And the best part? The meat is super lean! It's a little pricier than some other restaurants, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality.

One small thing – the restaurant could use a little sprucing up. The booths aren't the comfiest, and maybe not the best for those of us with a bit more… *comfortable* seating preferences. Because of that, I usually just order for pickup. But the food is totally worth it!“

“We are visiting the area and I felt like Mexican food so we looked up places and Barrio popped up as having good reviews. I don’t normally do reviews but this was honestly the best food I’ve ever had! Their food is all freshly made daily and it was amazing! Not only was the food great but the service was impeccable! We learned it’s family owned and some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! We will be eating here every time we are in the area!“

“This is my second review of this place.. I left a review in the past it was a negative review and I had given this place a second chance and they have not failed to impress.. things have improved significantly. I have ordered here about 10 times over a few months and everytime I've ordered everything has been delicious. The taco dinner was very good the steak was tender and flavorful.. the giant steak quesadilla was full of meat and cheese and very tasty.. we also tried an enchilada dinner we got red steak enchiladas with rice and beans the entire dinner was very tasty and not at all skinpy.. everything we have ordered recently has been constantly good so I felt I need to update my prior review.. if e owners are the same owners from a few years ago they've greatly improved if they're new owners great job .. I reccomend giving them a try.
