“This is a fantastic family owned restaurant. The food is amazing. The steak is tender to the point of melting in your mouth. The chicken is succulent and packs such a great flavor. The miso soup was delicious, with just the perfect amount of salt. The sushi was unbelievable. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The waitress was great and fielded our dumb questions with a professional demeanor rarely seen these days (questions on portion size and what some items were). I would recommend that everyone should try this restaurant.“
“Merichka's is one of those places locals have a special place in their heart for; they grew up with it and love it. The atmosphere is 50's kitch. There are several dining rooms and a circa 1940s bar. Other patrons heard we were new to the restaurant and told us we had to get the Poorboy "...it's what Merichka's is known for." It turns out their Poorboy Steak is ground beef plank (a long rectangular patty) on garlic bread served with pickles and lettuce for $14. We also got their Icelandic Cod sandwich (we chose baked over fried) for $15. We also had the Combo Appetizer- onion ring and fried mushrooms for $13. Both sandwiches are available on a plate (choice of potato or steamed vegetables and a salad) for $23 and $26, respectively. That is $10 for a vegetable and salad, if found that high. Dinners are also available for an additional $4 to the plate price (dinners add a relish tray). I decided to get the sandwich a la carte, so maybe it's a lot of food. The Icelandic Cod was prepared perfectly. Fish can be rubbery if overcooked, but this was tender and delicate. I was disappointed the bun was straight out of the bag, not toasted or grilled. The Poorboy was an unseasoned ground beef on garlic bread; it is definitely a skip for me next time. Their menu is extensive with chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, ribeye steak sandwich, and pork chop sandwich. Full meals include lobster, salmon, and steaks.Parking: There has to be over 75 parking spaces on the adjacent and neighboring lots.Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu with grilled cheese, chicken tenders, cheese burger, etc... it includes french fries and a beverage.Wheelchair accessibility: There are lots of stairs as soon as you walk in and stairs between rooms. I saw a ramp on the other end of the restaurant. You would go through the bar to get to a hostess stand (there are literally 3) and then be limited to the green room. There are stairs to the red rooms, and the bar only has high barstool tables.“
“The best burger I've had in a long time. My husband got a steak sandwich which was also very good. Great beer selection. Good home made food. These burgers reminded me of my great Grandma's burgers so I was very happy to indulge. Very comforting atmosphere with great comfort food. Will be back for sure.“
“Extremely clean and nice atmosphere as I would call it a hot dog joint, but it's more than that. It's upscale from a hot dog joint. (I'm from Chicago) The food is tasty and worth the buck. You will not be disappointed. I no longer live in the area, but I do tend to stop in and have a bite.“
“Opened & Ready on time. Clean parking lot. Small clean lobby. No chairs in waiting area, but I didn't mind waiting in my car. Great welcoming customer service. Nice young man at the front. Food was delicious. I had 1/2 lb of shrimp lobster tail and some mo lol. I'm just waking back up from my involuntary nap. No need to drive out to seafood junction anymore when I visit home.“
“Delicious I got camarones zarandeados they were good! rice didnt have any flavor to it, and it was just a salad on the side nothing special but I did love the shrimp, had camarones ala diabla too not as spicy as they should have been had a sweet taste to it too but it was delicious the sauce was really good! parking is in the back a bit tight but do able, there was tables available not busy at all for a saturday nightthey had a live band that was playing, they were good no complaints!! definitely asking people for song recommendations and all they played was good songs they werent bad! the waitresses were fast and efficient and on top of everything they were nice and made my paloma drink very good!“
“The food was solid, but the best part was our server Madison. We were the last table they seated and our original server forgot about us, but Madison stepped up, was prompt with refills and even had good conversation. Her attitude was the best, especially compared to the other server practically slamming down the bill for other tables. Will definitely be coming back for the good food and Madison’s cheery attitude!“
“Frequently order build your own poke bowls online and pick up in store. Almost never have an issue with getting the order right or food quality. Location can be a bit tight to get in and out of. Prices have also increased a bit in the last year or so.“
“Patricia was our waitress today and she gave us excellent service. Food was perfect, as always. I got the Carne Tampequeña, mom got the something that had a chile relleno and asada. The coke was gross though, I think they mixed orange pop with it because it was NASTY.“
“A family restaurant that will make you feel like a king ? the service is very fast and they are very kind to the customers, the dishes, apart from being tasty, are super well served ?? plus apart from the theme of the restaurant, it will make you feel like you are in Mexico! ?? Also if you want to party, their drinks are super delicious and every Sunday they have live music ?Kid-friendliness: The environment is super comfortable for children because it is a very familiar environment ??“
“I have been to this restaurant several times and brought friends and they started going and bring their other friends and family. You can’t go wrong when you come here. Food is excellent, prices are reasonable. The live music can be a bit loud but it’s not a deal breaker. Will be there before Christmas.“
“So far we have only ordered pizza for delivery from Baci's, The pizza has been very good every time we've ordered and I'll definitely be trying some of the other menu items. We think it's the best pizza we've had in Joliet! Prices are reasonable and the delivery time is quick.“
“This was my second time trying this place... not sure how I forgot about the first? Food and drinks were fantastic. Homemade limoncello martinis? Delicious. I had the Wahoo, which was a little dry for my fish taste, but nonetheless the taste was very good with a nice pairing of sauce. I had the Angry Mussels with pairing of Focaccia E Pesto were the apps I tried. Bringing these out together triggered my inner swine to take over. So GD good. Will definitely be back. Great Job!!!! Bartenders are super cool and personable.“
