I ordered the Wednesday special...the $5.00 build your own Burger with Chips or Fries (I opted to upcharge to tator tots) It was hot and jucy with crispy tator tots. My friend had the Smoked BBQ Brisket Bowl... We love coming here and look forward to our next visit!“

“We were warmly greeted by Chelsea when we arrived. We were seated at a cozy table toward the back of the restaurant. Frank Sinatra music was playing in the background. Our waitress Melissa brought us water to the table with the days specials. There is a good wine & cocktail selection. We started with the shrimp & calamari along with truffle fries for an appetizer. The shrimp & calamari were cooked perfectly while seasoned with the right amount of oil and garlic. The truffle fries garlic aoli sauce was very good, not overpowering. For dinner, we had chicken parmesan served with penne pasta as the side. The portion size was big. The chicken was cooked well, not overloaded with sauce and the right amount of cheese. The other dish order was the risotto of the day, shrimp & grape tomato. Highly recommend the risotto. It was cooked perfectly with big delicious shrimp mixed in with the risotto. As delicious as it was, room was being saved for dessert. Not many restaurants serve flourless chocolate cake, but Frankie's 1988 does. It is served with a carmel sauce, pecans, and vanilla gelato. I have had many flourless chocolate cakes in my life, and none compare to the one made at Frankie's. It is dense, almost like dark chocolate fudge that just melts in your mouth. They also have canolis, tirimisu, and an assortment of gelato. The staff was so nice, checking on us throughout our dinner, ensuring we were never out of water. Frankie introduced himself to us as we were leaving. We had to tell him how amazing the risotto was today. Frankie said that their kitchen is a scratch kitchen and will gladly make items not on the menu if the kitchen has the ingredients. Frankie's 1988 is a 5 Star restaurant nestled in a strip mall in Tinley Park.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.“
“Everything was on point! They made my aunt's 90th birthday special. My favorite dish is the Bang Bang Shrimp. It is shrimp with a kick. We had a problem and the staff took care of it immediately and made it right. This is one of my top ten restaurants!!!“
“Such a great seafood place, south suburbs, small strip center. I'd heard it was good, today is my first visit and oh boy is this place good the best place for seafood in the whole Chicago area. Yelp showed then add number 51 in the country . Today I had the Lobster Roll, warm. I also tried the fish and chips, both absolutely excellent about the best I've had. This lobster roll is on par with my all time favorite place, Burgundy Square Cafe in Venice, Fl. Both excellent, I'm so glad to know I no longer have to go to Florida to have the best Lobster Roll.I will be back, and often! Luckily Island Shrimp is only 45 minute drive away.“
“This was my Second time visiting this restaurant, and I brought my guy in to try their food. Ms. Darcy waited on us, and she was warm, and inviting as we walked in. We didn’t even have to get up when our food was ready, Ms. Darcy brought it to us!! He had a catfish dinner, and he thoroughly enjoyed it! I had the chicken wing dinner and it was a hit as well!! We tried the jerk egg rolls as well once we got home and they were good…not spicy enough for my taste though. The atmosphere here was a bit “smoky” I’m sure from the grills but the smoke consumed the dining room atmosphere. Overall, we were pleased with the food and may come back to pick up take out!“
“The menu selection was very good. The pork belly tacos had the perfect cook of crispy outside and tender inside pork. The oysters were so fresh, we felt like they had just been pulled out of the water. Our server, Jeff, was very attentive without being annoying. Definitely will be back.“
