About Imperial Restaurant

Imperial Restaurant is known for its incredible dim sum, with shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai, and shrimp with lobster sauce being standout dishes. The restaurant offers a traditional banquet hall-style setting with efficient service and comforting dim sum options. Customers have praised the very good har gow and kway teow, and some have even found water spinach (kangkong) not on the menu. The turnip cake has a great texture, although it can be a bit bland, and the rice rolls, dumplings, and rice noodles are also enjoyed. During busy times like Chinese New Year, the wait to be seated can be long, especially during holidays and weekends, but the overall experience remains worthwhile. While service may sometimes be slow, the delicious food more than makes up for it. Vegetarian options are limited, but efforts are made to accommodate dietary needs. The sesame covered balls are highly recommended, though dishes like fried turnip cakes and mapo tofu without pork may not meet everyone's expectations. Visitors often share entrees family style, making it a great spot for large groups of 6 or more. The rice rolls are freshly steamed and delicious, sometimes with fried dough sticks wrapped inside. The taro cake has a refreshing texture and the perfect sweetness, while the hot congee is tasty and well-seasoned. Some dishes, like xiaolongbao, may not meet expectations if reheated, but the friendly staff and clean environment enhance the experience. Overall, visiting Imperial Restaurant offers a satisfying dim sum experience with a touch of authentic Hong Kong style.

Food was very good. I have known the owner/manager - Elaine for many years. She is very attentive and polite.

While the lunch pricing is on the higher side - at $15 per dosh the quality of the food was outstanding.

I am deducting one star because it took almost 30 minutes for the cooks to make a fried rice, and another 30 minutes for chow fun noodle. Those dishes should have come woth the rest of my dim sum and foods. Not after i finished my entire meal.

Not top but decent food

Food in my opinion best in China town.
