This one isn't bad, but I still prefer the one on 87th, or the one on Madison out west
Food took way too long to make. It took 30 min to make a 3 piece dinner with fries and i was the only person there. I know they said it would be a wait, and there are online orders, but there definitely couldve been a way to put 3 pieces of chicken with another order and just hand it to the customer in 10 minutes.
I've been eating Harold's since I was about 8 yrs old. I'm in my late 50s now. This particular location, I am glad to see it stood the test of time on North Milwaukee Ave.....Over 20 yrs now. Continue being great!!

Harold's Chicken Shack #36 (Wicker Park) serves crispy and flavorful fried chicken, with 6-wing dinners being a popular choice. Despite potential wait times, the food is worth the wait. The chicken is super crispy on the outside, juicy, and cooked perfectly, often made fresh to order. The portions are large and very good for the price, especially the tenders and barbecue. The fries are tasty as well. However, the chicken tends to be somewhat plain without the sauce, which is a Chicago tradition and Harold’s signature. The mild sauce has a slightly sweet, tomato-forward taste that some may find lacking in flavor, coating everything without adding much elevation. There is no dining-in, with no chairs or tables available, so it is strictly takeout. The service and atmosphere may not be exceptional, but the consistently cooked meals, especially the fried chicken and tenders, make up for any shortcomings.
