I had the chance to check out Himmel's while wandering around Chicago. This German restaurant is located in Lincoln Park, close to the famous Lake Shore trails and steps from the DePaul University campus.Himmel's transports you to a cozy Bavarian village amid the big city hustle and bustle. I love this place but I feel like it does not love me. Every time I go I have a weird interaction with the owners. Most recent being that I held the door for an older lady and was told by the owner to close the door and stop letting cold air in.I’m going to keep going but hopefully the owners can see from this review that they have been treating a regular customer weirdly. Smelled amazing when I was there - bright skylight over the bar, there were smoking sausages. Going to try it out next time for food. If they had any Weihenstephaner I’d be back even faster.
