“I never leave a review but this AMAZING restaurant deserves it! Honestly where is their Michelin star??? because it was FINGER LICKING GOOD - from the food, the drinks, the ambiance .. this now easily one of my top 3 restaurants in Chicago. I totally recommend their chilaquiles with carne asada added!! It is a bit pricey BUT sooo worth the price. Reservations are HEAVLYYYY recommended!! it is a small spot but well worth going!!“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

“Can’t recommend Cariño enough! Michelin quality Mexican-inspired fine dining in an intimate setting. Perfect balance of fresh, herbal, spicy, savory, umami, sweet, and salty. It was complex, with an indescribable amount of detail going into each little component in all of the 14 courses. (Also got to try Huitlacoche for the first time, a mushroom-like corn fungus prized in Mexican cooking for its earthy, truffle-like flavor. 👌 An absolute delight!!) The cocktails and mocktails were mind-knowingly good.
Absolutely excellent service. I recommend the chefs table. The chef is very friendly, and the staff is impressive to watch.
They did a great job at accommodating dietary restrictions: no alcohol, no gluten, no dairy.
If you’re into a stuffy atmosphere, this isn’t the place. This place is laid back. No stringent dress code, which is awesome.
Simply indescribable food! Some of the best I’ve ever had in years of trying various fine dining establishments. Still thinking about how amazing it was even days later. Definitely worth the price.“

“La Parrilla Latin Food in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood impresses with its vibrant Colombian-inspired menu, featuring standout dishes like the perfectly grilled steak paired with flavorful plantains and rice, or the crispy empanadas bursting with savory fillings, all served in a beautifully designed space with colorful murals and a welcoming family-run vibe that makes every visit feel special. The portions are generous and prices reasonable, with options like arroz con pollo and fresh ceviche that deliver authentic Latin flair, complemented by friendly service and a lively atmosphere ideal for casual dinners or gatherings, though some items like the beans could use a bit more seasoning for that extra punch, and busy times might mean a short wait—overall, it’s a delightful spot that consistently hits the mark on taste and charm, earning a solid four stars.“

“Food was absolutely delicious - i had the Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo (Garlic Shrimp) and the whole thing was 10/10. Washed it down with a really good classic margarita, which was HUGE and strong in all the right ways. Our server was a gem, she was so nice and attentive and the food was fast to come out. The patio was spacious and calm, and with the sounds of local families and music floating in it felt very neighborhoody - which i love. Overall a great small business to come and support in person if you're able.“

“As a luxe wedding photographer, CARNIVALE in Chicago is basically my favorite place to work ever. Imagine a rainbow exploded in a jungle—that’s what this venue looks like, and every corner is photogenic chaos in the best way possible! FLORALS, NEON SIGNS, STREET ART: the works. The layout is perfect for capturing wild dance-floor shots, intimate couple moments, and all the shenanigans in between. It's just So. Much. Fun! The food? So good that by the end of the night, I may or may not have needed to be rolled out to my car by the staff (still worth it). Best wedding food I've ever indulged in, and that's saying a lot considering I've been in the bizzz for 15 years. Guests are singing their lungs out, dancing like no one’s watching, and basically creating the kind of joyful, colorful, chaotic energy every photographer dreams of capturing. If you want a wedding that’s equal parts feast, fiesta, and full-on photo adventure, CARNIVALE is the place to be! -Mikayla + Capture the Canvas Photography, INC“

“We were here a couple of years ago and planning on going hopefully this weekend (I'm from Chicago but live overseas for work). The food was amazing and the atmosphere, music, dancing was a lot of fun and not where you felt you were being picked up or come on to all the time...it was a nice place. Can't wait to go again.“

“Hit up Sugar Blow in Lakeview—cute AF spot that’s part cafe, part boutique. Snagged some empanadas, the famous tequeños, and a double latte— ended up around $25. The empanadas had that crispy golden crust and melty filling, and the tequeños? Legit the best in Chi-town. Vibe’s chill, owner’s super friendly, and the space is cozy with cool merch. Perfect hang spot—highly recommend!“

“A perfect night we came the family for my son's 21st birthday. It was a great night. We had to get to united center. The service pace was perfect. Not rushed but not slow. The pao de quieo was divine. The jam added was wonderful. The sweet potato was the star of the meal. Starched, crunchy at the same time. My son had the wagu beef. Was excellent. The chimichurri sauce. The brazino was good. Even though did not like the Harissa but the green paste on the other side of the fish wonderful. The chef knows how to grill a fish. They even served my son a birthday icecream with coconut. I am gluten free had no issues most of the menu items are gluten free. There was one honest mistake they served me the brazino and forgot to mention the aioli on the side is not gf. I did not touch it so it was not a big deal and frankly speaking feel bad to even complain about it as everything else was just perfect. But if I would have eaten it it would have ruined the night. So a little bit more caution with guest with allergies. Anyway mistakes happen Brassero is not a dedicated gluten free kitchen and it is a risk for GF diners every time they go to a restaurant establishment. So did not even bother complaining. I will be back despite that. Can see why it is so highly rated. Keep up the good level.“

“Absolutely delicious food - wonderful and generous staff who gave us such kindness and some extra treats for our meal. Also it is very affordable and you get a HUGE amount of food for your money. Each meal is about $10-$15 and honestly could feed at least 1.5-2 people probably. Plenty of leftovers.
The Saborcito Platter is amazing, delicious, and a great deal. Probably enough to easily feed 3-4 people for just $30.“

“I had a very nicely served meal with my boyfriend. We went to eat a dinner plate with Skirt Steak, rice, and black beans. I really loved the guacamole flavor 😋. All the food very tasty and delicious 😋. I would like to complainant my waitress Diana. She did a very good job with our service. I would recommend the Quetzal Restaurant to family and friends. I will score a 100’/, to Quetzal Restaurant.“

“Every part of this place is several notches above what you might expect from a small storefront restaurant. Especially the kitchen, where someone clearly cares. The simply named “Fish Stew” stood out, with plantain chips to crumble into it. Everyone speaks Spanish here, but you don’t have to to feel welcomed.“

“Had an amazing meal here last night. There were four of us and we each ordered a different entree so we can have a taste of each entree. We started with ceviche and empanadas. So delicious! Then our meals came…. And OMG! Each entree was so different and amazing! Everything is made from scratch sauces dressings etc. We ended the meal with the dessert and all tried something different. Everything we eat was incredible! The restaurant is so warm and cozy… the same feeling I got from ourmeal. It’s BYOB so bring your favorite drink and try this place. I promise you… you will not be disappointed!“

“I've been here a few times now. There's no wait for a table, you sit yourself anywhere. Parking on the street, I typically walk no more than a block. Service is good. They serve water in styrofoam cups which I found odd but, water tastes fresh and refreshing. Prices on food are expensive with the average being like $20 for a plate. The food is very delicious. We had empanadas, morocho, salmon and broiled chicken. The portions are massive and the food is very very good. They give complementary platano chips which are always bomb. I'd give this place 5 stars if the prices were a little lower. Highly recommend!“

“If I am being honest, the Carne Adovada was flavorful and it reminded me of Carne Adovada that you’d find in a fancy Santa Fe restaurant rather than your local New Mexican restaurant. The red chile was flavorful and had a decent kick to it. Although I would say I am a little confused by the use of corn tortillas rather flour tortillas for Carne Adovada. I kinda expect flour tortillas for Carne Adovada. I am most disappointed in the salsa since it didn’t really taste like something that would come from New Mexico. It tasted like straight tomato paste. But since I’m not in New Mexico - I can’t be too picky. But I was most impressed by the sopapillas!! It really did remind me of home and I am glad that they had honey to go with them. Service was great. Our waitress was nice and friendly and she answered all of our questions. I would say that I enjoyed my experience there.“

“Craving legit carnitas? Don Pedro's in Pilsen is the spot. I grabbed a half-pound platter—more than enough for lunch. The pork was juicy and tender, with crispy chicharrones on the side. Tacos come with fresh tortillas, onions, cilantro, and salsa. The vibe is no-frills, but the food speaks for itself. Just a heads up: they only take cash, so come prepared. It gets busy, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly.“
