“Casa Yari is the best for vegan food in Chicago...hands down. The menu is creative, delicious and made with love. Yari is an amazing chef and human all around. Her staff, which includes her daughters, is very knowledgeable about the menu and can guide you on what to get if you're a first timer. Every dish is made to order so a little bit of a wait time is to be expected and well worth it. Be sure to check their website for updated rotating menus as well as some restaurant FAQs (i.e. they stop taking orders about 30 min before close) Heads up, brunch is busy so you most likely won't be able to grab your order to go but you are more than welcome to dine in at the bar if you're solo. “After hearing about Omarcito’s from Triple D, we had to try it. The owner, Omar, is hilarious and has a great personality. He greeted everyone as they walked up and held genuine conversations. My husband and I ordered a few different items, and we were not disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and you could tell the meat is marinated because it was super tender. This place is a must!!“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

Washed it down with a really good classic margarita, which was HUGE and strong in all the right ways. Our server was a gem, she was so nice and attentive and the food was fast to come out. The patio was spacious and calm, and with the sounds of local families and music floating in it felt very neighborhoody - which i love. Overall a great small business to come and support in person if you're able.“

“I've been here a few times now. There's no wait for a table, you sit yourself anywhere. Parking on the street, I typically walk no more than a block. Service is good. They serve water in styrofoam cups which I found odd but, water tastes fresh and refreshing. Prices on food are expensive with the average being like $20 for a plate. The food is very delicious. We had empanadas, morocho, salmon and broiled chicken. The portions are massive and the food is very very good. They give complementary platano chips which are always bomb. I'd give this place 5 stars if the prices were a little lower. Highly recommend!“

“Carnitas Don Pedro is easily the best carnitas spot in Chicago. We're regulars here, whether dining in or ordering to-go. The meat is perfectly seasoned, and the tortillas and salsa are the perfect match. I always make sure to get a taco seso to complement carnitas. I also finally tried their weekend Menudo--it was incredible, and I'll definitely be getting it next time! They have parking spaces available but be sure to get earlier.“
