On a recent trip to Chicago, I found myself visiting Stan's Donuts daily. You have to get there early, because they sell out of some popular flavors early. The donuts are a little pricy, but the quality was excellent and service prompt and friendly despite the long lines. I tried all the donut types including jelly and custard filled, cinnamon rolls, twists, buttermilk, cake and apple fritters, but my absolute favorite was the lemon pistachio old fashioned. Yum yum donuts! Cute bakery! We walked in and waited in a short line to pick up donuts. They had basic donuts and speciality donuts and mini donuts! Once we placed our order, the donuts were bagged. Showing the bag to our cashier, they could tell what we ordered and added our drinks. The lights in the ceiling had fake donuts too. So fun! I enjoyed my apple fritter.

We were just hopping off the red line when we spotted the Stan's donuts and figured we should stop in for a treat on our way to the museums. My friend snagged a few of the mini donuts and said the carrot cake was her favorite. I had an apple fritter which was good--but it needed some apple chunks for some more flavor. I'd come back to try some other donuts. The staff were super friendly and helpful!
