“My lovely lady Tonya and I (Woelfer reservation) dined there in Chicago on Sunday October 6. We were in town from Tampa,FL to visit family and go to the Bears game. We made a last minute reservation because we were staying right across the street at the Gwen. This was to be our last dinner in Chicago before heading back home to face what was now going to be hurricane Milton. Our waiter was Jesse. He made the whole experience so memorable. Was very informative of everything on the menu and just had great character about him. I had the sea bass with miso glaze and Tonya had the lump crab cake dinner. We had oyster Rockefeller as an app and the tres leche cake for dessert as well as an after dinner cappuccino. We discussed our upcoming trip back home to uncertainty with Jesse and he seemed to really be emphatic to our situation. As I said he just had great character and knew how to treat his customers. At the end of our dinner when we received the bill the managers on duty gifted us with a nice discount and comped a couple of our menu items. We honestly were so grateful and it showed how much you as a business truly cared. We both work in the industry me being an executive chef and she a waitress, so we truly know how much a small gesture can create a lasting impression. So thank you, sincerely, from the bottom of our hearts. We came back home and immediately had to put up storm shutters and ride out the storm with our kids. We called tonight after the storm had passed to thank Jesse and the staff but he wasn’t working. So we thanked the manager on duty. Thanks again for exemplary hospitality and compassion. Everything about our experience at Oliver's was amazing and absolutely worth it. Here’s what stood out:

Drinks: The Oliver’s Martini is an absolute must-try – and trust me, upgrading to the caviar olives is a game changer. The Espresso Martini was another standout, and the Old Fashioned was perfectly crafted.

Food: Every bite was a delight. The bread and crispy artichokes were the perfect start. For mains, the scallops and burger were nothing short of top tier – flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely satisfying.

Dessert: We couldn’t resist diving into two options – the Key Lime Cheesecake and the Salted Caramel. Both were exceptional, and we’re already looking forward to trying more on our next visit.

The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

I use to go to the one on Randolph, but I no longer work in the city so today I took the Metra to the one that’s just a 5 minute walk from the OTC station and this location did not disappoint. I love their veggie blend, the juice that they put on it makes it a 10/10 & it’s honestly the reason I come here. I usually get the salmon with the veggie blend but today I tried the grains and I was not a fan, so Kim and Jose made it right. Kim is so pleasant, attentive and had great customer service. I can see why Jose won the “extra mile” award, he remade my meal which was totally unexpected but very much appreciated and him going the extra mile for me means I’ll keep going the extra miles on the Metra for my Brown Bag. Jose was very personable, kind and helpful. Thank you!
