“My wife and I recently visited Umaka Ramen in Lisle, Illinois (the location on College Road), and it turned out to be a really pleasant experience overall.
From the moment we walked in, the service was extremely nice. The servers were genuinely very nice — warm, attentive, and friendly without being pushy. They made us feel welcome right away. At one point we asked for hot water, and they brought it over quickly and cheerfully with no issue at all. That small touch made a difference.
We started with the gyoza. They came out hot, nicely crisped on the bottom, and flavorful. It was a great way to begin the meal. After that we ordered the beef ramen (the spicy beef version). It was extremely nice — the broth had good depth, the beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked just right. Everything felt comforting and well-prepared.
The whole experience felt relaxed and positive. Friendly staff, solid food, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back.“

“This is absolutely a one of a kind experience! My mother and I did the “Decadent Omakase” as it was our first visit. Lee, our waiter was amazing. All of the staff that helped us were so informative and kind! The flavor in each selection was beyond this world. It was pricey but worth every single penny. I have never had a better experience in my life. The Omakase was EIGHT COURSES. Every one being perfectly curated. I cannot wait to go back.“

“I have eaten at Tanaka Sushi once or twice a month since 2021, and they consistently serve the best Japanese and Korean food in the Naperville/Lisle area. I am a sushi snob, and their sushi is always fresh and well-prepared. Their cooked dishes are always served piping hot and delicious, well-plated, and the portion sizes are great for the price. The employees clearly have a tight-knit work environment, and they are all always polite. I cannot recommend this restaurant more. You will never regret a Tanaka Sushi lunch.“

“We recently visited for my bday on 5/31. The decor is beautiful and the service was stellar! Everyone was attentive and friendly. Our hibachi chef was amazing. He was extremely entertaining and super accommodating. He made our hibachi dinner experience the best we have ever had. The food was perfect and great portion sizes. My son even ordered Spider rolls and said they were amazing! My two teens and 1yr old enjoyed it immensely! Thank you all for the great celebration. We will be back for sure!!!
