“First, the food is DELICIOUS! They have a lot more flavors of chicken available than some other K.F.C. restaurants. The tteokbokki offers more flavors & add in’s as well. You can tell the company really cares about their food quality and customer satisfaction-eg they have steam vents built into the containers and the keep your to-go order propped slightly open until you pick up your order all so that your chicken remains crispy, rather than getting soggy waiting in a closed container! “Hubs and I came last night for an impromptu date night. The holiday décor was absolutely beautiful, you can tell a lot of effort and attention went into it. The staff were all super friendly and helpful! We arrived during the dinner rush, and given it’s the holiday season, I’m sure there’s an uptick in guests, but we were still seated within about 15–20 minutes, which was impressive. There is a one-hour dining limit during this season, I understand they’re turning tables quickly to accommodate everyone, especially having worked in the industry myself. However, I was really disappointed that every single item we ordered was cold. I don’t usually like to complain, so I didn’t mention it at the time, assuming it was just due to how busy the restaurant was. But after reading other reviews, it seems this may be a recurring issue, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure I would return, but on a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Hopefully they can work with the kitchen to make sure the food is served hot, because everything else about the experience was great!“

“My daughter and I traveled from DC to Chicago for a cheerleading competition. We decided to try Porky's... I am not making this up, hands down the best BBQ I've had in years. The combo sandwich with brisket and pork, is phenomenal. The Porkys Beans with brisket, left me speechless. Outstanding customer service to go along with the great taste. “Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

I have enough chicken and corn bake for a second meal. I couldn't NOT finish the Brussels sprouts.

In addition to the two sides, I took advantage of the offered (complimentary aka free) slice of white bread and sweet and sour pickles.

I have been here before, but that was years ago. Im glad to see its just as good as always and still in business.

“A small, korean BBQ restaurant in a strip mall on Mt Prospect. We were greeting right away and sat at your table. The tables are separated and private from others. The servers was attentive and took our order quickly. Bottled water is sevred with every meal. We ordered the meat and seafood combo ( steak, chicken, shrimp, and squid) which it comes with a lot of meat. You get a dumping soup that was very filling. The meat is very well seasoned and cooks nicely on the grill. The side dishs were very good. I didnwish they had korean potatoe salad as one of the sode doshes. At the end they also give you ice cream bars. The food and service were amazing. The only negative thing I can say is that it does get smokey inside the restaurant. I definitely recommend coming here and will visit again myself.“

I always got the tteokbokki (rice cakes in spicy broth) and alternated between the bulgogi (beef dish) & bibimbap (assorted veg, beef, + egg over rice) and occasional splurged with the ojinguh bokkum (calamari dish) or the chapchae (cellophane noodles which are clear & chewy). The tteokbokki + one dinner dish typically ran me about $31.30 and fed me for close to 2 meals, side dishes were free

There’s also a karaoke lounge in the back with varying prices. It’s not the best karaoke spot but they have most recent songs available.“
