I ordered the Saturday night special, prime rib and a baked potato. The prime rib was cold. Not even close to hot. I did not get a steak knife to cut it with. I had to use the knife that came with the bread. The baked potato was just ok. It did not have enough butter or sour cream for the whole potato. I usually really like L Woods, but was very disappointed tonight.“

I arrived close to closing but my host Linnette guided me through the menu and recommendations, mentioned some off menu items, and answered my questions on ingredients. She was very friendly. When my order was ready she walked through everything and ensured it was all there before I left. The food is absolutely mouthwatering delicious! I have had creamed spinach at many famous steakhouses across the country including in New York and Las Vegas and this creamed spinach is hall of fame worthy. Creamy smooth and delicious. The rye bread was fresh and chopped liver tasted great. The au jus for the prime rib sandwich was steaming hot and the side of au gratin potatoes was an excellent choice. The prime rib was nicely rare and fatty. The tiramisu topped it off with a deliciously rich flavor that reminded me of the Italian restaurants I ate at growing up in NJ. 10/10 fantastic experience overall! As I was leaving a nice gentleman said thank you for dining with us, just overall friendly nice place with extremely good food and a caring nice staff! Portion sizes were generous too!

The food here is fantastic and the family that runs this restaurant is super kind and generous. Excellent sized portions which makes this a tremendous bang for your buck. “I had the pleasure of trying the burger, sausage, broccoli salad, fries, banana pudding, Mac and queso, and sticky pork belly—and let me tell you, every single bite was an absolute delight.

The sticky pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sausage link was perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The fries were golden, crispy, and even better when paired with the tangy Texas Red and Carolina Gold sauces.

The burger and the sausage link, though, were the (tied) stars of the show. Both choices are simple and very reasonably priced. The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted. Each bite was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. The sausage link was made with a perfectly balanced blend of ingredients that made it impossible to put down.

The Mac and queso was a standout as well—completely unique and absolutely next-level. It’s not your traditional mac n’ cheese; it’s a bold, creamy creation that left me wanting more. The broccoli salad was a refreshing surprise, with a perfectly balanced tanginess and flavor that was, quite literally, DILL-icious!

I finished off the meal with their banana pudding, which was the perfect way to end such a feast. Light, airy, and just sweet enough, it was like a cloud of dessert heaven.

“We went to firewater for their grinch brunch and it was amazing. I will absolutely do this every year now. The Grinch is hilarious and stays in character the whole time the food is delicious. There’s tons of options and you also have the option to just order off the menu. They serve bacon chicken tenders, eggs, macaroni, pancakes, French toast, cupcakes, cake, pops cookies, a different variety per table too. They have adorable drink menu for the season. “An excellent Chinese BBQ place run by a very friendly and knowledgeable couple. They really know the art of BBQ and everything is cooked and prepared to perfection. The BBQ chef there had been around for at least a decade back from before the current owners took over the shop.

The prices are very reasonable and the taste authentic. The best part is buying BBQ from here saves me the time and hassle of going to Chinatown.“

We each had dinners, he choosing 1/2 baby back ribs, Mac and cheese, cornbread. I had 1/2 slab brisket, Mac and cheese and collard greens. Side portions were generous and the collard greens were fantastic! Mac and cheese was terrific and the meats were just perfect. Service was great and price was just as great. Washed it all down with classic Margaritas. Great addition to neighborhood in same spot Fat Willy’s left when closed for good.“

“It's been a long while since I've been at this District Brew Yards location and I don't remember Lillie's Q. Pictured here is a Pimento Cheese Sausage Link ($8 and a style I've never tasted before 5/5), half a pound of Brisket ($17, probably one of the best I've had 5/5), both come with a side of onions and pickles, and ordered sides of Coleslaw ($4, dry, not creamy 3/5) and Mac & Cheese ($6, which was average 2.5/5). Not a huge fan of how the BBQ sauce packets came, pictured here - opted for Hot Smoky and Smoky Barbecue Sauce. A bit pricey but was filling. Would like to try the Tri-Tip, Hot Link, and Chicken Wings next visit.

“Excellent brisket that was perfectly cooked, tender enough to cut with a fork and a mild smoked flavor. Loaded waffle fries that are light, crispy and a heaping canvas for BBQ sauce slathered smoked brisket with a sprinkling of jalapeno peppers. Burnt ends with unending flavor. Baked beans that included chunks of sausage and brisket. Delicious food, generous portions, old school vibe with the blues playing in the background and a staff that aims to please -we have a winner here, folks.“
