“We had our Christmas Dinner there. It is a very nice venue for our family to enjoy food, fun and bonding time. This is not a restaurant so they do not serve food, however there was ample space to bring your spread and lay it out beautifully. The ambiance was great and there was plenty of room. Also, ample parking and the venue was easy to find. It was my first time there and I would definitely enjoy returning there in the future.“

From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of phenomenal, and I had to write this review immediately. The moment we walked in, we were greeted not only by the host and hostess, but also by several staff members and even guests at the bar. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, welcoming, and incredibly friendly. Pure class. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and perfectly accented with soft candlelight, making the evening feel special and intimate. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by Gina, the bartender, who was extremely attentive and genuinely kind, making us feel right at home. The food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The owner, Randy, came by to greet us and his personality was truly infectious. He had us laughing nonstop and made our night even more memorable. We also had the pleasure of sitting next to Marcy and Dick, regulars who have been coming since day one. Even though this was our very first visit, we felt like part of the Bella Mia family. From the staff to the clientele, the love and pride behind this place are undeniable. Bella Mia is truly one of a kind and deserves all the recognition it receives. “Impeccably clean restaurant! The food is amazing and fresh. My Skillet was delicious as the fresh ingredients made the difference! Home made and not from a Sysco can! Entire staff was attentive to their tables. Debi was very nice and attentive.
The owner is friendly, and you can tell he appreciates his staff.

“I just happened to crash out in Lansing Illinois for the night. This place was right down the road from my room. Had an old school look and a comfortable feeling. The bartender that waited on me was an absolute doll. She took great care of me. I got the twisted turkey sandwich and the rueben quesadilla. I really wasn't expecting much, but let me tell you they were both fantastic. They obviously only use grade A ingredients and it shows. If you're ever in Lansing illinois, JJ KELLEYS is a must stop.“

“Went here for the first time and what a treat! I love 50s stuff and this place is a hidden gem to me. I had an award winning experience from the minute we walked in. Total 50s decor and the aroma of fresh coffee and lively conversation was everywhere. The place is a bit small but so welcoming. They have tables and chairs and a counter to sit at. I felt like I took a step back in time. Love it!!!! I had a vegetarian skillet that was very delicious. The servers were excellent and so attentive to our needs. The place was extremely busy but was still working like a well oiled machine. Everyone was having a great time as I was looking about the room and enjoying everything the place had to offer. We will be going back again and can’t wait to try the other items they offer. Great job everyone!!!“

“Katie was our waitress last night and she was so sweet! I had a Blueberry Moscow Mule, and it was made to perfection! We had the guacamole as an appetizer and it was delicious and beautifully presented! My husband had the Sacramento Burger with Cajun Fries & I had BBQ & Buffalo Boneless Wings with Fries. Our food came out quickly and we enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be back! We are not members of the Country Club and we love that we get to eat here too! The members we met here last night were very friendly and welcoming.“

“Came in to the dining room to eat in around 8 or 8:30 p.m. Was not greeted by young woman at counter when I came in. Stood there several minutes waiting on husband and reading menu. Several people in the kitchen being loud and throwing things at each other. When he came in and we went to the counter she greeted us. Took our order. Pleasant enough. Another girl was wiping trays. We grabbed drinks. Area needed to be wiped down but the napkins, straws, lids, and ketchup area were all stocked. Went to dining room and had to go to 5 tables to find a clean one. Food came out quickly. They have changed their burgers. They are thin as paper. Like meat crepes. Seriously. Bacon was cooked the way I like it. Husband and I ordered the same sandwich, only he got a double. Apparently that changes the type of bun you get because mine was a regular hamburger bun wrapped in paper and his was a fluffy sandwich bun in a paper bowl. Receipt reflected we paid for two of the same sandwiches. So who knows the thought process there. Finished and dumped our tray. Didn't bother getting ice cream.“

“I really wanted to love this place because I truly appreciate supporting a family owned business, and the atmosphere had that welcoming, hometown feel. The service was friendly, and you can tell this restaurant means a lot to the people who run it. Unfortunately, the food did not match the experience. Parts of the meal were overcooked and burnt (steak and pork chops), while other items (like the pancakes) were a tad undercooked. It seemed more like an issue with kitchen execution than the quality of ingredients.

I would absolutely come back if the cooking consistency improved, because this business has great potential and the kind of charm you want to support. Hoping they can make some adjustments in the kitchen this could easily be a local favorite with the right chef.“
