“I'm been a customer for many years. I new Bill Krekls all thoses years. We was neighbors and friends. He was a hard worker and make the best hamburgers ever. The first building open back in the 60s and was on 1200 block Eldorado st. He live 1300 block next door to us. I'm glad to say your food is good and the hamburgers are the best from the one on Oakland St. That open before the one on 51. Take right person to make Bill Krekls hamburgers. And 51 your are. “The best Steak 'n Shake I've had since covid lockdown. Other than the lack of service from employees because of the kisosk, they answered my questions and helped us with a really polite attitude. They were great and the food was great. I only put 4 stars in service because of the kiosks. Everything was great overall!“

“We arrived at 8:59 pm and they closed at 9. We went to another Kreckles first but they were closed for vacation. They were super friendly and even though they were about to close the owner was adamant that we order what we wanted. Next time I come to Kreckles it will be this one.“

“Great small town, Decatur, Illinois local owners, and has the best custard ice cream, creamy and tasty. I just love their lemon strawberry twist. My husband loves the burgers and fries. Once you try it out, you'll go back for more.

Parking: Small parking lot, but it's mostly to go orders. Had outdoor tables and benches convenient for family members, friends, and roadrrip stopped and have a unique atmospheric place with a huge roste metallic structure right in front, family's owned logo. Great experience...“

“We haven’t been in since the remodel and today we was driving by and decided it’s been a while let’s go eat here. We was not disappointed AT ALL! Everyone was super friendly from the bartenders to the kitchen staff and our waitress was top notch! Our drinks never got to less than half full and she checked on us just enough! The food was soooo good! Their hand cut fries are cooked to perfection and today we was going in for lunch so we got burgers and they was so full of flavor and prepared just how we asked. “Love the burgers, fries and lemon cones. It is clean and provides an option for indoor as well as outdoor dining. I returned to explain that a phone was lost and it shows up on "Find my phone" at Krekel's. Staff members had not found it, checked the table where we sat. I left a message with the cashier, in case it is found. Concerned that it is STILL showing that it is at Krekel's after I returned home.“

“This was the very first Culver's we went to. Our son lives in Maroa, which is north of Decatur. We were really glad when one was built in a town only 12 miles away from our town. We live in the southern part of Illinois and it is around 3 hour drive when we visit our son and his family.

Parking: There are quite a few spots for parking, but of course this is a busy place in a larger town, so sometimes it may be hard to find a spot, but food is worth the wait.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are handicapped parking spots. I hate to see when people who don't need them use them because they are too lazy to walk from the side of the building to the entrance.“

“Came here on 05/11. My husband and I came in for dinner and some drinks so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was amazing!!! I feel so bad I can’t remember her name. =(. She did an amazing job holding down the bar and getting drinks for the entire place. All while even waiting tables inside and out. Which got pretty busy. Everything was kept up with and just really did bust her butt the entire night. We had great service and never had to wait for anything. Keep up the great work!!!“

“Extremely busy. Drive thru never stopped for an hour. Same with walk in. Food was ok not best burger kind I've had but no complaints. No ice but gave us ice from behind the counter. Never cleaned the dining room while we were there. No ketchup had to ask. Friendly staff working super hard. Maybe add one person to take care of this stuff when busy?“
