“I have lived within walking distance of this place ever since it opened years ago and I have passed by it literally hundreds of times. But I never gave it a shot because a family member did not enjoy it the few times they've been there. However, I've been on a quest to try the best burgers in Chicago and Little Bad Wold constantly comes up. I was craving a burger a few days ago, and decided to check it out for myself. I ordered the bad burger with onion straws, fries and a side of mac and cheese. And I gotta say, this a damn fine burger. Damn fine, I tell you! It's definitely one of the best I've had. Also, the mac and cheese was fantastic. I highly recommend ordering it. So yeah, that was a super solid meal and a must try for local burger enthusiasts. I also really dig the ambiance and decor. They don't take reservations, but you can view your spot on the waitlist through Yelp. Given that this place is so close to me, I am for sure coming back for the burger and other items on the menu.“

“My first time trying this place was for lunch today and it was such a good experience! The host was very welcoming and kind, and so was my server. I tried a blueberry bourbon drink that was amazing, and had a bowl of the chili mac that was even better. I had a lovely time and can’t wait to come back!“

“Sleeping Village is a wonderfully funky little music venue in Avondale. The acts tend to be a bit obscure, but you may catch a star in the making. They offer a fine selection of beers and ciders. This is not a restaurant, so I'm not sure why food review would apply.“

“Amazing! The food, drinks and happy hour prices are a 10/10. The decor, music and wall art gave the place overall great vibes. My boyfriend and I spent a couple of hours here just drinking and eating, it was great. The only thing I would add is, the place was busy when we got there, so service was slow. I think our waitress was taking care of the whole place. I understand completely so will not be deducting a star. Overall amazing experience, will be returning!“

“The food was delicious, my husband loved the burritos and the slaw. Also, I don't know the name of the person who served us today. But there were quite a few people and he was alone, with one person in the kitchen, he still kindly served us all, thank you very much for that.“
“Beer spot with around 20 beers on draft. They don't sell food, only a few snacks but You can bring your own food, play some games or to go there for trivia. Very cosy place with a good selection of can beers ( around 200). Cool place to hang out with some friends on afternoon or evening . Highly recommend “

“Upon seeing Sojourn, not only was the ambiance and restaurant enjoyable, the food was spectacular. I brought my out-of-town boyfriend and the staff treated us with the utmost care and quality. Christian, our server, was spectacular, and the owners gave us a warm, memorable Chicago welcome. This restaurant is highly recommended by my boyfriend and I if one is seeking good food and a company of great people. Thank you, Sojourn!“
“I'm so glad G's is back open! The whole vibe of the place has changed. Make sure you stop by to see Esther on Wed or Fri. She makes the whole experience better! From having a expert knowledge of drinks to her warm and welcoming personality, she makes your night! It's a lively and colrful feel and the patio is out of this world!“

“They have great outdoor seating and a large menu for both food and drink. The service was a little slow as it seemed they only had one waitress who was waiting on the entire outdoor section, but that isn’t enough to make me not come back to this neighborhood spot.“
“My wife and I randomly discovered this place, and it didn't disappoint! We were hoping to find a chill spot to grab a drink with low-key vibes, and this was exactly the place we were looking for. They have fantastic beer, easy-going nature, and it just feels like a place you want to hang. They have an awesome array of board games which we love, and took part in. We had to cut the night short but it was a spot we could have stayed for hours. We now know exactly where to hit up next time we go to Highwood!“

“This pizza pie is so very delicious. Imagine good dough rolled out thin topped by tangy sauce and thin coating of cheese with flavorful Italian sausage in hand formed balls. I haven’t been excited by a pizzeria near me for quite some time. Did I mention chewy crust. I also tried their deep fried cauliflower with garlic Ali oil. Golden crisp heads of cauliflower served with your choice of sauce. My next adventure I will try the Cesar salad and another flavor of pizza ... can’t wait. Love me some Logan Square pizza..“

“Indulging in the culinary delights at R Public House in Chicago was a sensory experience like no other. Opting to dine outside, I found myself perched on the sidewalk, with the majestic Lake Michigan at my back and the Red line to the west. A gentle cross breeze played with my hair as I eagerly awaited the arrival of the much-anticipated bacon fig burger. The moment of truth arrived as I took the first bite of the burger, and I was instantly transported to a realm of gastronomic bliss. The combination of succulent bacon, rich goat cheese, and tangy pickled red onions created a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The crowning glory was the fig jam dip, offering a sweet contrast that elevated the dish to new heights. As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the artistry behind the dish and the attention to detail in its presentation. The timing of that first bite was indeed crucial, allowing me to fully appreciate the harmonious blend of ingredients with each mouthful. In conclusion, dining at R Public House was not just a meal but a culinary journey that left me craving for more. From the picturesque setting to the exquisite flavors, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of exceptional. “This is, by far, the BEST German restaurant in Chicago! Hands down!Erin, the owner, has created a spectacularly genuine restaurant that is warm, cozy and welcoming. It harkens back to those gloriously rich, cultured German dining spots of old while celebrating classic rustic fare that needs no introduction. The appetizer selection is grand and elegant and includes perfectly prepared hackepeter, a robust jumbo Bavarian pretzel, delectable potato pancakes and expertly breaded fried smelt. The lunch menu will satisfy ever taste with terrific savory sandwiches such as the Laschet's Reuben, chicken schnitzel, smoked pork butt and bratwurst. Mouthwatering roasted potatoes, spaetzel, sauerkraut and warm German potato salad are majestic accompaniments to choose from.Their dinners are all "Must Try!" and feature incomparable sauerbraten, Wiener schnitzel, rouladen, goulash and many, many other dinner highlights that truly stand out as superb.Much love, care and attention go into every meal that it's virtually impossible to pick an absolute favorite. They are all spectacular.Outstanding desserts include decadent German chocolate cake, delicious apple strudel and a "too-good-to-be-true!" apple crisp that really sets the bar really, really high.Of course, we can't forget beer! A full, traditionally beautiful bar showcases the finest, freshest selections of German and Austrian beers available to balance and compliment everything on the menu. The staff is just ideal! Friendly, professional, warm and attentive, the staff always goes above and beyond to make ones dining experience memorable. Bravo to them!!!After a great meal and a beer, it's easy to just sit back and feel relaxed, content and throughly happy. Perhaps sit at the bar when done in the comfortable dining room. You're amongst friends. Family. That's how this place make one feel.True, there are quite a few German restaurants in Chicago, but Laschet's Inn far exceeds the usual fare by building the flavor components to an eye-opening level and turns dining into thoroughly enjoyable moments not to be missed.Laschet's Inn is Chicago's iconic German restaurant, and it truly provides a 5-Star dining occasion to be relished.By all means, do become a regular!!!“

“Awesome neighborhood bar in Roscoe! My wife and daughter wanted to visit a bookstore, so my son and I visited here just two doors down. It was pretty busy for 3 pm, but we got a hi top table and placed our orders right away. We had a couple of Old Styles, and I tried the Krombacher pilsner. It was the beer of the month and very good. My wife and daughter joined us about an hour later and had a couple of drinks. This seemed to be a less expensive bar than most we visited in Chicago. That's always a good thing! Service was outstanding! I can't get over these beautiful Chicago bars. Long and narrow. Awesome architecture. Perfect setup here at Village Tap! Will definitely try and make it back here on our next visit to Chicago.“
“Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Been going here ever since their first day but not as frequently as imagined. They definitely have some unique beers as well as fun events throughout the years, one notably was an outdoor hip hop concert with Twista, Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, which was 1yr post-COVID. Recently went for their whopping 10 year anniversary (Fri 12/15/23) and the beers were absolutely and generously flowing. They opened up the back for a nice 80s cover band concert and also had pop up food and wine vendors. Videos here of that night. Whether for an event or not, this brewery is worth coming back to again and again.“
“Beer On The Wall is a true beer lover's paradise, boasting an extensive selection of beer varieties that left me in awe. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the sheer diversity of options available. What particularly thrilled me was their remarkable collection of sours, especially the smoothie sours. It's a rarity to find such a wide range of sour beers, and Beer On The Wall exceeded my expectations in this regard. What sets this place apart is not only the diversity of beer but also the emphasis on local breweries. Their dedication to featuring local craft breweries adds an authentic and community-driven touch to the experience. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore and support the talent of the region while enjoying some of the best sours, including my personal favorite, smoothie sours.Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking to expand your palate, Beer On The Wall is the place to be. Their extensive selection and focus on local breweries make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and flavorful beer experience.“

“The chicken sandwich is a favorite!! Mary is a great cook. Don't sleep on the food here. If Mary's cooking - get it! Also, she does some great game day specials - nachos, etc. Good snacks. Good beefs, good sausages, and the best chicken mozzarella bacon sandwich on a hoagie.“
“This shop is an anchor of the community in every sense of that word. Every customer is treated like a regular from the moment they walk in, and those that are true regulars are treated as family. The staff are deeply knowledgeable and fundamentally relatable, a combination that is hard to find, particularly in wine. That we are recognized by the folks at Wine Goddess is a point of pride in our lives that we are overjoyed to share with friends and family. This review may seem overzealous but it is, if anything, understating the quality of this store and its wonderful staff.“

“This place is within walking distance from my house, so I decided to check it out tonight. The menu is small but the food was good and it was quite busy when we left. I took my daughter, who is 16. It was fine for her, but I wouldn't recommend taking a younger child there.“

“Wow. I can’t believe I hadn’t been to this place before tonight after walking by it so many times in Highwood. This may be my new favorite tapas place. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the service was excellent.First, they brought out bread and a heavily seasoned olive oil dip (garlic, salt, paprika, yumminess!). The patatas bravas were flavorful and perfectly roasted. However, my favorite dish was the hot garlic shrimp. I would have just drank the sauce it was so good.Oh, and I’m glad we got the plantanas dessert. It was perfectly portioned sautéed bananas, a little bit of vanilla ice cream and the most ridiculous sea salted caramel sauce. Amazingly rich.“

“I've been a longtime customer, before during my boozy brunch phase and now during I need 4 cups of coffee mom phase. We always feel welcomed here, which isn't always the case when you dine out with a toddler. The food is always consistently great, along with the service. I always gets the eggs Benedict and my husband usually gets pancakes or French toast. This dinning experience he got the banana Nutella pancakes which he enjoyed, the only note is that he would have preferred plain bananas instead of cooked to brighten up the meal and not make it feel so heavy.“

“Great bar in the Lincoln Park area service German style food. We stopped in and were very impressed with the beer selection. I am a big fan of Hefeweizen beer and they had multiple different heffes on tab, which is very unusual in Chicago bars. I ended up getting a burger. The cheeseburger was decent, little more greasy than I would. The bar tender working that night was very helpful and we got our beer and food fast.Looking forward to coming back to try other drafts and the German style food I have seen on the menu.“
“One of my favorite Chicago bars. Fantastic beer options. The soft pretzels are a must. It's very dog friendly! Great place to come to on game days and non-game days. The staff is incredibly friendly and really makes the place special.Love this place with all my heart and you will too!“
“Great coffee, great daytime staff. But it seems like an afterthought to what is pretty much a loaded cocktail bar catered to business crowd when they clock out. Would love more food options for breakfast-goers, this is a very bustling and business-centric area and I feel like this can get overlooked with much more popular bars in the area.“

“The food was pretty good and the service was good as well. The risotto was kind of pricey for this type or restaurant but was tasty. The cheesecake we took home (bananas foster) was not very good at all and I'm surprised since the restaurant said it was from Cheesecake Factory whose cheesecake is usually very good. Definitely not worth ordering or paying for it.“

“Rocks Lakeview has a great atmosphere. Most recently I met a friend here on a Friday afternoon and it was decently busy but not packed. Bartender was lovely and all the other guests were friendly. The happy hour is a good deal and the pear bear drink packs a punch. The hummus platter is quite large and it was plenty for the two of us for an afternoon snack. It's a cozy atmosphere, nothing stuffy. I was 15-20 minutes earlier than my friend, and it was not a place that made you feel awkward being solo, either. Very nice welcoming vibes“

“God, I love me some dive bars, more so when they're located in centralized locations i.e. on a major street, sandwiched between two train stops. The Harding Tavern is so much more than your average dive bar, though. With dine-in seating, you have premium beer/cocktail options on top of meals fit for any type of day. Their tap options are stacked, in my opinion. They have a rotating 'pint of the month' that highlights an alluring $5 price tag. Special mention, these guys have Goose Island Bourbon County stout on tap, which, to me, is incredible. I'm never in the market to buy a full bottle of one of these drinks, so a 10 oz pour is just right. The tavern itself is pretty compact, with the bar area located in the middle of everything, so it's pretty easy to get a tender's attention. Service is always prompt no matter the time of day. Brunch deals are available with their complimentary mimosas with a brunch entree purchased and a $38 package deal that includes a bottle of bubbly + OJ. I think the THT is a solid option to grab a drink in Logan Square. Great to bring some friends, to bring a first date, or to just grab a drink and watch a sports ball game alone. No judgment! Its accessibility alone to the NW side of the city is reason enough to check this bar out.“

“I LOVE WESTONS! They have a wide variety of lovely flavor combinations and drink options, as well as a good selection of sandwiches and treats to pair with them. The staff are very kind and attentive as well. I haven't tried anything from here that I didn't like, but by far my favorite has been the strawberry mocha latte! I can't wait to order again :)“

“We LOVED this place. Such a cool environment. I had the best cheese curds here. The food came so fast. The beer is very good. We definitely will come back and will recommend this place to everyone. By far one of my favorite breweries now. Bravo.“
