At first glance, you'd walk past this place but do not be deterred by the appearance on the outside. The inside is very simply put together but clean and inviting! “Visiting from Montreal and Hubby wanted to visit a St. Louis Jazz or Blues bar/restaurant and this came up in several searches. We had a great time with a great meal sharing several dishes and topping it off with a flaming bananas foster. We went on a Wednesday night and there was music, but it was with a 70 and 80 vibes. Wasn't what we were expecting but was a fun time nonetheless. Would definitely visit again!!“

However, on my last visit I was at the bar & I accidentally spilled my drink, while trying to pay, and the bartender informed she could remake it but there would be a $10 surcharge (mind you there is no signage of any kind around the bar stating this 🙄)to do so and that was on top of what the first drink cost plus the rest of my order. All I could do was laugh because I’d never heard of something so made up in my life, and for context I have over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry and I hold two degrees in culinary and hospitality management as well. So I guess common curiosity & customer service isn’t in the bartender employee handbook. I allowed her to remake it of course and paid the EXACT amount she asked as she stood there waiting for what could have been a tip I walked away. Please teach your bartenders proper customer service techniques and that common courtesy goes a long way.“

“We wanted Italian food and we decided to go on the hill to Zia‘s. We ordered pasta dishes, which was extremely nice portion size. The bread was delicious when you dip it in olive oil. I also had the French martini which was delicious. I think if you have a taste for Italian food pasta, you couldn’t find a better place.“

“Recently ate there, really by accident, we had tickets for an early performance at the Fox theater, but had no reservations. Had waited at another restaurant which was clear we would not have time to eat, and catch the performance. So we went across the street to try Gary’s. The 5 of us got right in, our waiter was fantastic, he was so talented, and great with my granddaughters. Ate a wonderful meal, everyone liked their selection. We did not have time for dessert so the waiter brought us each of us over a piece of chocolate cake with our meals.😊 we will be going back to Gary’s, because of the service and food. Please give it a try if you are in the area you won’t be disappointed.“

“We are from outta state, here visiting and searched vegan restaurants in the area and decided to go here. definitely didn't disappoint. We ordered the Filthy Philly (our favorite), the Super Dirty Dog (was surprisingly good) our son said it taste like a real hot dog, bbq trash wings (flavor was on point with these too) we also got 2 different deserts we haven't tried just yet. but will review them too in a little. lol. we will return back. thank you for making this amazing food you are doing a great job. 10 out of 10“
