“My hubby and I were drivin’ home from Michigan to Wisconsin and made it a point to stop at the Shawarma King in Gurnee (this was our second time, and y’all, it was just as amazing as the first). We had the chicken shawarma wraps with fries and that garlic sauce… Lord have mercy, it’s so good I’d put it on just about anything. The falafel was tasty, and the tahini sauce was the perfect match. The hummus was smooth and flavorful and had their special sauce in the middle and was served with their homemade pita bread! It was that soft, fresh pita—like nothin’ I’ve ever had. You can tell everything’s made right there in the kitchen with a whole lotta love for their customers. The gentleman runnin’ the place is just the nicest guy—genuine, kind, and proud of his food (as he should be!). We’ll definitely be stoppin’ by again next time we’re passin’ through.“

“I came here thinking it was an “asian market” and I suppose it is, but east asian! Was super impressed by the service and the Indian food selection. They didn’t have all the ingredients I wanted to make my Chinese lo mein noodles but I picked up some chai and masala packets. If only my eating window were open I would have stayed to try some of the home cooked food. It smelled delicious! Will be back!“
