“I had mixed feelings about my visit to Port of Peri Peri. The food was honestly excellent and full of flavor, so I have no complaints about the quality of the meal itself.

However, the customer service really let the experience down. The staff didn't seem friendly or welcoming, and when I asked questions, they either didn't respond properly or didn't seem interested in helping. The dining area also looked like it needed more attention—several tables were greasy and didn't appear to be cleaned promptly, which made eating in feel a bit unhygienic.

If you're planning to try this place, I'd recommend ordering takeout instead of dining in. “I went for the first time and it blew me away. It was quiet at this time and we were the first orders of the day, but the food came fairly quickly. I ordered the Byrd bomb and it was a very generous portion as I had hoped. The sauce is amazing, and the chicken is flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fries are amazing with the seasoning, and the toast was warm and buttery. Extremely satisfied overall, will come back again!“

“I’ve been here a few times and each time has been consistent and good. Parking is really easy and the weight is short even if it’s very busy. The food is fresh, the beef was really good. I was having a bit of a hard time hearing with the guy behind the counter because it got really loud at one point because they were so busy, And I think I was holding up the line but he was really patient with me which I appreciated. “One of the best restaurants in Chicago! The lunch special is my favorite - the most flavorful kabobs and rice (I upgrade to the Kabuli style rice). I also love the Kabuli Palaw (lamb shank). Service is always efficient and friendly. Afghan Kabob is worth a visit even if you're not in the area!“

“Delicious Somali restaurant in Chicago suburbs. My first visit to a Somali restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was pretty good. Loved the Goat with rice and vegetables. Their tea was good too. Didn't care much for the orange juice made from concentrate. Lady at the counter does all the billing and orders. She spoke decent english. Had to wait to use the bathroom, which was not gender segregated. Interior is very basic, but food makes up for it.“

I enjoy Daves as a whole chain; however, this particular location takes the cake. Absolutely phenomenal accomodation by the staff, even when it's booming with people and busy. Despite all the orders the staff were slammed with, they still were able to give special, attentive care and respect to every customer. I even learned some of the employees names, and they really stuck with me. Elijah, the cashier, despite the business, accomodated to my needs with absolute care. The general manager (forgive my spelling if misspelled), Fritz, really made an impact on me. His fun and bubbly personality, willing to reach out and ask how his customers were doing, showed me how: even when this specific Daves location's team and workers are slammed with orders and busy, they still do an exceptional job with hospitality and care for customers, and that's not easy and I admire that. Another staff, Ciara, stood out to me due to her fun personality. It speaks volumes to me that I got to meet and remember the names of these workers! 🩷 This location truly made my night I love you Daves! 🐥🐔❤“

After traveling all day and parking at the Cumberland Blue Line, we came down the road to Bab Alsalam and I cannot rave enough how amazing this place is and will be coming back each and every single time we travel out of O'Hare. The food was not only delicious, but so much flavor punched into every bite. We ordered a Chicken Shawarma Entree and the Mixed Shawarma and both were exceptional in taste. Comes with salads, pita bread, and incredibly flavorful hummus. Attached is a photo of how much food they give you. It's massive. We had enough for leftovers the next day. HIGHLY recommend this place and I'm already trying to find a way to make my way back to Chicago just to eat at this place again lol. Thanks for the amazing service!“

“I usually LOVE this place. But the food has been very inconsistent lately at the Troy, MI location. I get the same thing every week. And every week it’s a little different. I get the mixed platter. Last week there was no sauce, and I always order extra on the side, but the little cup was only half full. So, no sauce on the platter, and barely any on the side. This week there were more onions than gyro/chicken. Barely any meat; very meager portion. And still, side of sauce only half full. Super disappointed. I’ll give them one more chance, then I’ll have to stop giving them my business.“
