“Our favorite thing about Straw and Bubbles has to be their croffles, they’re absolutely delicious! We’ve tried all the flavors, and honestly, it’s hard to even pick a favorite because they’re all so good.

“Went to pick up a sandwich next door at Firehouse, while waiting for it to be made I walked over to this MilkTea shop. First time having anything Boba, so I went in and had a few curious questions about the teas, drinks, extras ect. The cashier was super nice, answered all questions, I got the Chocolate Boba Milk Tea and I thought it was great. The tapioca was good too. The place is very clean, neat, the bar area was also tidy and well kept. I saw there was a screen off to the side where you can order in case there’s a bit of a line at the cashier which was nice. Will be coming back to get a smoothie or something different from the selections next time.“

“It’s very tasteful and packed with flavor. The bowl of noodles looks very colorful and the essence of aroma smells really good. The broth tastes rich simmered perfectly, with layers of yummy spices, and slow-cooked amazing melt-in-your-mouth tender beef. For sure, a must try. A top 30 chicago food item!!“

“Great bubble tea spot! We always come here when we're in the Wicker Park area. The lady working is very nice and she can even make a custom bubble tea if there's something you want that's not on the menu (like a lychee peach smoothie, mm!) What a boss. “Rejoice! The place for some great Chinese teas had arrived near you! Yes, it does share the fad with the Taiwan born boba drinks. But our eye was caught by the nice website with images of nice teacups and ambiance. Only 23 miles away from home we discovered that the trip in a hot and still pandemic day was totally worth it. In few words owner, Shaolong picked the teaist vibes in us and offered us a great real experience of sharing a favorite tea - he introduced us to the wonders of Zhang Ping Shui Xian (漳平水仙). Unlike the real "black tea", the Pu-erh, this one also comes in bricks, yet is a type of oolong with an amazing floral scent. We were honored with 4 different samples which we are currently slowly and thoroughly testing (3 pics). And yes, the fermentation levels are different - some definitely will give you a great oolong taste, but others are just a unique elixir on its own. But back to the house itself. I see and hope for great unrolling potential. This could become a place for tea lovers and teaists in training. Why not theme days, classes, shared experiences, a club? We would join. The 23 miles are a drive, but there isn't much of a real tea-drinking place in our Chicagoland (unlike smaller cities in North America like Portland and Montreal). However, Living Water Tea House is a great promise and it totally won our full support! Keep the cups warm!“

“been here a few times, each is better experience that the last, attempt to try most of their items on menu. So far, my favorite is their Mango smoothies with cloud cheese, as drink. Their cloud cheese is really good and a balance of salty taste with the sweetness of the mango, the tapioca in the drinks is plentiful but not overpowering the water content. I had it in other Chinatown restaurants, some had too many tapiocas that my teeth were tired chewing them. Cuckoo is not. Their Don (Japanese rice bowls) and their bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) are excellent. Have not decide which is better because each have their own uniqueness and tastes; I had 2 types of their bibimbap before and only 1 type of their Don. So far, I am leaning towards the Don but there is excellent amount of veggie in their Bibimbap, which is ideal for weigh concise person. Wish they have a loyal customer rewards style of drinks incentives, much like some restaurants, for example, buy 9 and get 1 free drink, or some % off after 5 drink purchases, and give customers an advertisable nice pocket size reward card to keep track of their purchases. That may also work with food item purchases as well. Crossing my fingers that this may happen soon. With summer in Chicago, cool refreshing drinks is ideal and as loyal customers, return for more drink purchases with rewards will be even better.“

Just like any other Chill parlor, delivers the same consistent taste which isn't necessarily the best tasting bubble tea but definitely not the worst either.

I've heard some ppl describe it as the McD's of bubble tea being it's not deemed authentic like other higher quality Asian chains and originated from Chi-Town.

Honestly it's not that bad at all and the older of my 2 sons claims it's his favorite brand in which case it was the very first bubble tea he drank (Taro) just before his 3rd birthday at the Hawthorn Mall location.

We live pretty far northeast in Lake County in Beach Park but if ever in the area again and my son gets that craving for CBT, we'll be back in. Hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).“

“The Banh Mi sandwich was honestly one of the best ones I've ever had. The lemongrass chicken was juicy and flavorful. The bread was exactly how it should be (crunchy outside, soft and fresh inside). All the veggies (carrots, daikon, cilantro, cucumbers) were fresh. The sauce was a perfect amount which brought everything together beautifully.“

“We stopped here on a whim while we waited for a tire repair at the local Firestone. Super friendly staff. Lots of customers coming in to place orders. My husband daughter ordered fries chicken and chicken tenders with fries and they did warn us it would take twenty mins because they cook them fresh to order. They were the crispiest, tastiest, flakiest pieces of chicken. The fries were awesome too. I had a single chicken taco and it was fresh, flavorful and delicious! We also ordered some bubble tea blended drinks that were good. I'm glad we stopped here.“

It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas!
