“This place is an absolute gem! I just got home from an amazing work event they helped throw, and I can’t say enough good things. From the management, to the bartenders, to everyone I interacted with…so helpful and fun. I also heard so many comments about how good all of the food was. Their pizzas are homemade! They make their own seltzers! They will play your playlist :) I could go on & on! Just very accommodating and exactly what we needed. I would recommend them to anyone throwing an event or looking for some really good pizza. They also have a really cute patio. 5 stars! I forgot, their pricing is incredibly reasonable too :)“

“We were in town for a convention and staying at a hotel. We decided to order a pizza our last night there. We chose Joe's at random, and we were not disappointed. Our order was delivered promptly by a very nice, and courteous person. The pizza we ordered was delicious. We loved everything about it -the thin crust, delicious sauce (not too much), and generous amount of cheese. I especially liked that the toppings were under the cheese, and there were herbs!! “I am a Chicago native now living in Colorado. While visiting, I needed to find a place that offered both deep dish pizza for my husband and gluten free pizza for me. This was a great choice. My husband was able to order deep dish by the slice and said it was delicious. My GF pizza was yummy with sausage and onion. I don't know what makes Chicago onions on pizza unique, but they just aren't the same anywhere else. The price was reasonable, and the tables outside in the shade were lovely.“

Crispy crust, flavorful cheese, and when you order toppings, they actually put enough on there! Sauce is slightly acidic but also very good. There lunch special of 2 slices and a drink is a great deal compared to other fast food joints these days. Note that this is a carry out place and there is no indoor seating, that why it got 4/5 stars for atmosphere. There is limited seating outside.“

“We visited Pizza by Sal for the first time yesterday after hearing great things from our neighbors, and overall, it was a positive experience. The food was good, and we’d definitely order from here again.

We started with the chicken tenders, which were indeed tender—we could have gone for seconds. For the pizza, we opted for cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. It was enjoyable, though we think calling it NY style is a bit of a stretch; most wouldn’t notice unless they’re from NY like us. The pie was tasty, but it felt a bit salty, possibly due to the cheese or sauce. The crust was thin and foldable, striking a balance between crispy and soft.

We’re giving 4 stars for a couple of reasons. While the service was quick at first, it slowed down significantly when we waited about 20-30 minutes for our pizza. Our waiter seemed to forget about us, so we had to remind him.

Additionally, the prices felt high—$29 for a 16" pie with two toppings seemed steep, likely due to the "Wilmette effect." They claim to use high-quality ingredients, but inflation plays a role as well.

Lastly, the noise level increased significantly once families arrived with kids running around and using the arcade machines. We suggest the owners consider adding sound-absorbing materials to improve the dining experience. It doesn’t need to be silent, but a quieter atmosphere would be nice. Overall, it’s a place we’d return to, especially if they address these issues.

Literally a ton of different toppings and unlike other Normal pizza places that charge ridiculous fees for adding toppings? This place doesn't. They had salad too. And me and mum indulged in that too. I got greens with roasted garlic cloves, roasted red pepper, chickpeas, roasted broccoli, cucumber, shredded chicken, blue cheese and a balsamic dressing.“

“I love deep dish pizza and I love tavern style pizza. Marisa's pizza is somewhere in between. I ordered a large sausage pizza and requested the pizza to be sliced like a pie. What I ended up with is a pizza similar to New York style pizza except Marisa's pizza wasn't as soggy as New York style pizza. Overall, I think that it is a great pizza. I enjoyed the thickness of the crust and the cheese wasn't greasy. I noticed that they also sell pizza by the slice and they do not just sell them during lunch hours. My entire family enjoyed the pizza so we will definitely order from Marisa's again.“
