“I had a great experience at Five Guys, and a big part of that was thanks to Amanda. From the moment I walked in, she made the atmosphere feel welcoming and comfortable with her warm personality and positive attitude. She greeted customers with a genuine smile and was extremely patient, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire visit. Amanda took the time to make sure everything was correct with my order and didn’t make the interaction feel rushed, even when the place was busy. It’s clear she truly cares about providing excellent customer service and making people feel appreciated. Employees like Amanda really make a difference and turn a simple meal into a pleasant experience. Because of her, I’ll definitely be coming back to this location. “My daughter and I went in for lunch. We were on a time crunch in between her sporting events. Brian Harris, the General Manager, was very friendly and very attentive. He was coming around to the tables and checking on us and other guests to make sure that everything was to our liking. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back.“

“We went with our Burger Club to Lucky Burgers (a.k.a. Jelly Cafe after dark or 4pm, whichever comes first).

Jelly Cafe is a breakfast and lunch place open 7am until 2pm. Then they switch over to Lucky Burgers which is open from 4pm until no one is there and they want to go home. Though technically I think they’re open until 8 or 9pm.

There are a handful of items on the Lucky Burgers’ menu: about 5 variations of their classic burger, a chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and waffle fries.

When we went, the place was empty and never got busy. Which opened the door for one of the owners, Scott, to regale us with tales of days gone by from his childhood in Evanston and the famous people he knew, grew up with, and worked with. It was nice hearing these stories and it was nice to give Scott something and somebodies to talk to as well.

The place has a large parking lot and is nice and clean on the inside. There is a tiny area with slot machines and a small bar/counter at the entrance.

The burgers are all smashburgers. They come as singles or double patties. Go for the double as there’s not a whole lot of meat once they’re smashed. The differences are the toppings. Scott recommends their housemade dijonaise sauce which is good, but ask for it on the side. The cook slathers it on the burger and that’s all you can taste. Once I scooped (you read that correctly) the sauce off my burger, it was a pretty good burger. The meat is seasoned well and cooked nicely and the bun holds up (despite dripping in dijonaise).

We all shared the chicken tenders as an appetizer. Five nice sized tenders come in the meal and you can choose your dipping sauce. Scott recommended their honey mustard which was very good and the ranch wasn’t bad either.

He is also johnny-on-the-spot to refill fill your drinks. I seriously thought that I would float away.

The best part is the price. All said and done for a burger, waffle fries, and a soda, with tax and tip is like $15-$18 bucks.

It’s a nice place that I need to go back to and visit for the Jelly Cafe side. AND return for their burgers, tenders, and more of Scott’s stories.“

All sauces can be ordered on the side if you like your food mild. My kids loved the Nutella bubble tea and Oreo pudding. PLUS they have board games like Uno, Connect Four, Jenga, etc.“

“We tried this after watching Phil Goode’s review on their smash burger- we tried the burger, pork belly bites and the traditional wings with Jerk sauce and also XXX-Hot.
The smash burger was absolutely fantastic. Fries that came with it are seasoned but we think they would be so much better fresh cut. Pork belly also fantastic and melts in your mouth- The wings themselves we thought were a tad dry and overdone BUT were very flavorful. The Jerk sauce was very good. The XXX - hot has outstanding flavor but if you truly like spicy food it is not hot but again the flavor of this sauce is top notch. Staff was exceptional.We will definitely be back!“

Personally, even I thought the food I was getting was like, too much from just one coupon, which shows just how awesome this restaurant is! I can still remember drinking my delicious Fanta soda from this restaurant, alongside enjoying my awesome plant-based burger. Not so much the fries, but that’s ok, since fries aren’t really my thing, but you should still try this restaurant anyways, especially since their meat (beef, I think?) is halal, so that really makes this restaurant top all the other ones in town!“

“Franks for the Memories has officially stolen our hearts.. again! My boyfriend and I came back for our second visit, and it was just as amazing as the first. We ordered the boneless wings and fries with cheese sauce, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and that cheese sauce… heavenly!

Even though the place was busy, the staff had such a great, lighthearted attitude that made the whole experience even better. They were friendly, upbeat, and on top of it all, our food came out in less than 10 minutes! You can tell they care about both the food and the people they’re serving.
