“Stopped by on a whim and was very, very surprised. The outside is quite attractive with an outside eating area. The inside is nice and clean with plenty of seating. We ordered chips and salsa, Pollo with Mole, and the Steak Burrito Fajita. The chips are homemade (as expected) and very good. The chicken in the Pollo with Mole was super tender. The mole was rich. It came with homemade corn tortillas. The Steak Burrito is filled with fajita fillings, so steak, green and red peppers, and onions. The flour tortilla was filled and grilled giving the whole a nice smokey flavor. It was one of the very best burritos I have ever had. Look over my reviews. I have eaten a lot of burritos. They have a creamy salsa verde that is great, a very nice Roja sauce, and a hot sauce that is no joke hot. Our server was great and the whole experience was a great one. Will be back soon.“

“My kids and grandkids really enjoy the food from chipotle two of them have gluten allergies/celiac disease and one needs to be dairy free. I went to pick up dinner tonight and was very impressed with the staff at this location and the care they took to assure there was no cross contamination.“

Communication was top-notch, portions were huge, and the food was incredible. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the juicy chicken and steak, the homemade chips and salsas, and guacamole that could honestly be eaten by the spoonful. My family all ordered different things (zopes, flautas, a beef stew, pupusas and more). And we even had some delicious desserts including fried ice cream. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing. The owner's whole family works there and you can tell that they put their heart into the business. “We just celebrated my wife's surprise 65th birthday Sunday with 14 family members. We chose El vado #2 Mexican Restaurant and couldn't be any happier. From them going out of their way purchasing ballons and banners to her complimentary frozen ice cream the service, food and drinks were phenomenal. Very warm and welcoming staff. Very appreciative of your business and fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for this memory. Never felt rushed. Everyone in our family raved on how great it was and was one of our best parties ever. Familiar with their other restaurant in McHenry which is also excellent and reasonably priced. You have to try this place if you like mexican food. A+++“

“This is a taqueria within a small Mexican grocery store. The food is fabulous, the carne asada tacos are delicious but the barbacoa is also excellent, not to mention probably the best carnitas I've ever had outside of Chicago. The barbacoa and carnitas are also available by the pound which is an awesome option. The ambience is very basic, two tables and a few chairs, not pretty but the food is phenomenal and prices are very reasonable.“

Service was delightful. Very kind people. There was a small mix up and it was handled with ease, nothing to complain about.

The overall atmosphere was very welcoming. The kindness along with the amazing smell only complimented their clean and well maintained seating area. Very well lit and great music of which was not too loud or too soft.

“We went to Mago in Barrington last night for the first time and were blown away. They were very busy so we sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Food was terrific and the menu features things you won’t find at your standard Mexican restaurant like three choices of mole. Tableside guacamole is absolutely lovely. I have to say, though, what made our experience was watching the magnificent bartender. His efficiency, speed, and obvious dedication to what he was doing was just a marvel. He never stopped moving! We will definitely be back as every aspect of our experience was very enjoyable.“

“this my wife and I favorite Mexican place since we moved to Illinois we don’t even think about chipotle anymore. Actually, the thought of chipotle makes me wanna throw up lol but on a serious note, this is the best food all it’s consistent. Nice service great food the only thing if I was to say is that usually the locations have the AC running and so he just feels super cold and it makes the food colder so if they could turn the AC down a little bit so it’s not as cold that would be great.“
