“We took a break in this adorable small-town Harley Davidson bar! The service and food were amazing. It was also shockingly clean! I had a delicious Catfish dinner! They even have a salad bar to go with your meal. This was a satisfying relief after traveling for 12 hours!“

“As we all know, Rip’s chicken is clearly the BEST. Have you ever thought about ordering Rips as a catering service? Not only was the service great, but the food was amazing. My wedding guests raved about it for weeks. We still hear about how much they loved the food. They make the best homemade Pasta and the chicken, as always was so good. They offered so many different sides to choose from and everything turned out perfectly. They had a nice setup and their girls kept the guest tables clean the entire time they were there. Seriously, by the end of the night I don’t think I saw one plate or empty cup on a single table! The owner works seamlessly with the venue and Rips staff to make sure your dinner services are top notch. I would 10/10 recommend Rip’s Tavern in general, but especially for an event. “Incredible food at very good prices? The special I had today was an Italian Grilled Cheese sandwich. With a bag of chips, a bowl of chili, and a drink, my total was $12.16. You can’t get fast food that cheap these days, and the sandwich was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Homemade food for cheaper than fast food is an absolute win! You owe it to yourself to check this place out, if you haven’t already.“

“Went for early dinner tonight I had raw oysters for an appetizer! They were so fresh and tasted delicious. My boyfriend had the tortellini’s, my son had kid’s quesadillas, and I had 1/2 seafood chowder soup 1/2 salad. Everything tasted delicious. Our waitress I didn’t catch her name but she was awesome! We will definitely be back!“

“I had their lemonade, chicken bow tie soup, chicken strips, French fries. EXCELLENT!! Lemonade was tangy with just enough sweet. Soup was flavorful. We love the LaSalle salad, crispy and resh; the chicken stir fry, tender crisp and tasty; the chicken dumpling soup. we haven't had anything that we wouldn't reorder. “Wife and I went on a Wednesday night since we had a rare night with no kids at the last minute. I’d heard good things around town and now I know why. It hit all the right notes. Contemporary style, welcoming and knowledgeable staff and excellent food. 612 Bowie Pasta for me, Caprese Salad with Chicken for the wife and Bruschetta as an appetizer. We should’ve had leftovers with the generous portions, but it was just too good to stop eating! Highly recommended!“

“Best place we stayed between Chicago and Grafton, IL! We were stuck at Starved Rock lock for around 5 hours. We didn't get through until after dark (9:30-ish). I called and amazingly enough a guy named Chuck answered the phone! He said our boat was a little big for anything they had available but he could put us at their fuel dock for the night. He waited until we got there around 11pm, helped us get tied up then invited us to the bar for drinks and even opened the kitchen and made us supper! Seriously the best place we stayed. Fun, clean, not pretentious, extremely accommodating, and super reasonable prices! Thank you South Shore Boat Club - and Chuck - for your help and amazing hospitality!!“
