“We came to the Yellow Rose looking for a place to camp with our recumbent E-trikes and mini campers. Brenda, the owner, offered us a place under her bandstand canopy, which we gladly accepted. She and all her patrons were very friendly and the food and service was very good. Thank you Yellow Rose!”

“A well known restaurant around this area. The restaurant is painted pink. The ambiance is really good. It’s decorated simply beautiful aesthetically. Hava a large sitting area. It also have a bar. There are few slot machines to play. The service is prompt. Staff is really friendly and polite. There are day special menu of all you can eat. Fridays are catfish day. You order catfish and eat all you can. Cost approximately $15. The only downside is that most of food items on menu are deep fried and health conscious people might have concern. Food taste is good. Side orders of baked potatoes are excellent.”

“Amazing food and service was great. Didn’t start out great for me didn’t have the beer I wanted and were out of oysters. Server was very helpful and was able to get me some extra scallops for my meal. They didn’t have to do that but much appreciated for going the extra mile.”

“My favorite little corner for Mexican food. Way better than the other local options. Verde salsa of the gods! I get steak enchiladas verdes every time I go and they've NEVER been anything short of delicious.Parking: They are on a corner with no side street parking. You have to find a spot on Jefferson or south on the side street beside Hopefully Yours. It's worth the short walk!”

“This is a great family owned business. Try the stuffed pizza, it's great. Stuffed pizza, if you've never had it, is like stuffed crust but the whole pizza is stuffed. TRY IT! Currently they only offer drive thru. Like them/follow them on Facebook to see if they open the dining room.”

“Nice pub and lounge! The owner is very friendly and helpful. He even lit the fireplace just for us out on the patio when we asked. Many brews on tap to choose from, also whiskeys, etc. The back of the lounge is comfortable with games and leather couches and chairs! The outdoor space is nice for beautiful nights outdoors next to a stone fire pit! A new added option, you can order from a "late night menu" (9pm-12am) Brandon has on the bar that supports another local spot called the "Hawaiiowan"! You call their #, order your food, and they deliver it to Valley Monster! ?”

He not only delivered exactly what I said, but the execution was top-notch.Without divulging the level of Starbucks circles I travel, this was by far the best cup I've had. Jeremiah crafted it so effortlessly and professionally, demonstrating it can be done (without any social media).Great job, Jeremiah.”

“So here's the deal... I grew up in NY surrounded by the BEST Italian food. Throughout my life I have traveled to different areas of the US and the world. I know how I like my Italian.I just finished eating at La Travola in Burlington Iowa. Now that's my kind of Italian!I went for lunch and had the Eggplant Parmesan! Magnificent! Real eggplant, real house made sauce, real house made salad dressing. The plating was sizable (had to request a take away box).I loved the atmosphere. This is a small restaurant - like being at Nona's house. I was seated quickly - lunch service was just starting - but by the time I left there were people waiting to be seated. Reservations for dinner service would be best.My server was Sam. She was personable, knowledgeable, and efficient.I will definitely return.Vegetarian options: Eggplant, pasta with marinara sauce salads”

“Chef Jared’s food is always amazing. Burlington is so lucky to have him and his little restaurant, the Hawaiiowan.A lot of love and imagination goes into this food. Portions are large and satisfying. I recently got the bibimbap with beef and the beet + goat cheese salad—amazing and I had lots left over for lunch the next day. Atmosphere is cozy and the drinks yummy. Great dessert drinks and menu too—I love the bread pudding!I have not tried them, but there are also lots of vegan options!The restaurant is on the smaller side so I definitely recommend making dinner reservations on the weekend. “I've eaten here twice and am very pleased. I had General Tso's Chicken on my first visit and Shrimp with Snow Peas on my 2nd and both were excellent! The chicken was tender, moist, and just the right amount of heat. The shrimp was tender, moist, and large with crisp and generous snow peas in a gentle sauce! This is the best in Burlington! The fried rice was a little disappointing with a little too much soy sauce but the eggroll and crab Rangoon were spot on. The food is served hot right out of the wok, the service is quick and pleasant, and they offer both Coke and Pepsi products.”

“Drinks are not watered down and reasonably priced. Dunker, the proprietor, is often on site, chatting with his customers and ensuring a good time. The place is packed during prime hours and while you may at times be shoulder to shoulder, the vibe of the place for the most part is pretty good.”

“Food was good. I like the fact that they have the ingredients on the table to add you own level of heat to your dish. Service was questionable. My wife question our server about the difference in tea, and ordered hot tea as did I. The server misunderstood ( the place was extremely noisy)and brought thai ice tea. When we explained the error.....server got very defensive and started lecturing my wife, who by this time, was getting very upset. I gave my wife my hot tea, and I took the thai ice tea just to calm the situation. From that point on, server never came back . However, the other server stepped up and took care of our needs.The place was small, crowded, and noisy, but we were ok with all that, as long as the service and food was good. I would go again, but I would have to go alone because my wife refuses to step back through their door.I rate it 7 out of 10. Service is key!”

“I’ve been meaning to leave a review for a while but my visit tonight (12/30/23) was so amazing I have to leave one now! Ok so I just recently moved here to be near family. I’ve been living in a big city on the east coast for 8 years where there are five Starbucks all within a short distance from my home. I had a favorite one with awesome people that I got to know. I know it might not be a big deal to some but being able to go get coffee was a lifesaver during a hectic time in my life and I still do it now when I need some “me time”. I was worried about moving somewhere smaller without a lot of options but after the positive experiences I’ve had at this Starbucks since I’ve moved here, I realize I didn’t need to be worried at all! “We came here for lunch. I have to eat gluten free so I rarely enjoy eating out. They had a separate gf menu with options other than a salad. I was pretty excited! We both had reubens. Highly recommend. I had the brussel sprouts (excellent) & my husband had a potato side he loved. Server was attentive & had great personality. $ are fair bc the quality of food shows.
