“We always search for local homemade ice cream on our hockey adventures and we stumbled upon Uncle Bob’s just in time! They are closing for the season 11/19, but make sure you stop in when they re-open!! Flavors were amazing and no gross after taste. This is legit the real deal. Not too sweet so the flavors don’t get over powered. Super friendly staff and plenty of choices! It’s a must stop even if you are just driving by!“
“Ready to go into a small town, Mom and Pop type store and give your tastebuds a trip on the stairway to Heaven?? This is the place for you. Right in Washington, Illinois' town square, it's a small place with BIG tastes! I visit relatives in the E. Peoria/Washington area every few years from SW Florida, and I NEVER miss a trip to Avanti's, Emo's, and Holland's! Each place is worth the 1400+ mile trip, but Hollands has the added gift of letting me take some home! The caramel corn is sweet and salty and especially caramel-y, with each bite crunchy and fresh. They have it with and without nuts, so don't confine yourself to just one type.That's not all, though. They also have a cheesy corn that tastes like you hoped the new Cheeto's Pop Corn tasted like. (which was a HUGE disappointment! Imagine how thrilled I was to see cheesy corn available at my local store...that is, until I tasted it! Cheeto's/NO. Holland's/a BIG resounding YES!!) Holland's tastes like Cheetos on yumminess steroids!Holland's has lots more flavors that are incredibly yummy. They add nuts and other goodies to their popcorn with amazing new flavors. If you're within a couple of hundred miles, make a day of it. Drive to the Peoria Area and go to Avanti's for lunch, then Emo's for chili dogs, then top it off with a few bags (or more) of Holland's Caramel Corn. Don't count on one bag being enough. I promise that by the time you get home, your first bag will be empty, and you'll be wishing you'd gotten LOTS more!“
“We love this DQ! We look forward to it opening every year! We wish it was open all year. But remember this is a small town. They do have a limited menu, but it is very good. I am sorry for the person who only got a few pieces in their blizzard. I have always gotten everything through out my blizzard. I love the cones!! My hubby loves the shakes! “Review Date: December 28th, 2019Candies, sodas, gums, ice cream… oh my!After having a drink and lunch at Happy Thought Coffee, we needed some dessert. We each had a $25 gift card to Little Land of Candy, so walked up there to pick out some sweets.We entered and were greeted with a cluttered front of the store. The first 10 feet felt like they were packing up all their christmas decorations as there were boxes everywhere. There was also a table of assorted tupperware containers for sale. Quite the odd entrance area but we quickly moved beyond that and entered the Willy Wonka Chocolate factory-like place.Despite it being a smaller shop, it was packed to the brim with things that would make a diabetic person swoon from just looking around. Candies, chocolates, gummies, sodas, energy drinks and so on and so forth were lining the walls and shelves. We all grabbed a hand basket and set to town spending our $25.Aside from a few things, nothing really had a price label. So we threw caution to the wind and started loading our baskets up with more snacks than any one person should really have. We browsed the store front to back, side to side, picking up random stuff and tossing it in our baskets. After about 20 minutes, we all had picked out our goodies and proceeded to the cashier.The cashier was super patient and friendly as we all checked out at the same time. Not knowing what each thing cost, we had no idea what our totals would come close to. Matt was first to go and spent $26.50. I was second and my total was $35.50. Tim was last and spent the least at around $25.95. We quickly gathered up our sugar and headed back to the car.If you’ve ever been to a local candy store, this place will feel familiar. If you’ve ever been to a Rocket Fizz, then you’ll recognize some of the brands and products in this place. Some stuff was even labeled with the Rocket Brand logo. This was a pleasant surprise as I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to one of their stores before.If you find yourself with a sweet tooth and in the Chillicothe area, Little Land of Candy will surely have what your sweet tooth desires. You might even find a few new odds and ends there that you fall in love with.“
“best ice cream place in town, not joking at all. better than dairy queen or any other place that specializes in ice cream. you can get food there as well as tons of ice cream, wizard or sundae options. the line can be very long but they get through it quick. amazing job“
“Stopped in to buy a couple of ladies milkshakes that have their home in a nearby nursing home. The ladies behind the counter were cheerful and bright as being helpful. Over ten bucks for two medium shakes is a bit much, but in today's environment it's not unreasonable. The gals just raved about the quality of their shakes and that makes it all worthwhile in my opinion.“
“This has been one of the best locations for as long as I can remember. I know for a fact that this location has been a desirable place for the teens in town to work at. Everything is clean, the people love working here and the food is always amazing. Great job! and its been this good for decades!!“
