“Love this place good times and great food“

“We’ve eaten breakfast and lunch here many times, but recently ate here for dinner. We weren’t disappointed. Great appetizers, good steaks, and great desserts. The onion petals are a “must”! The service is always good here, too.“

“Today for lunch we stopped at a little spot in Metropolis, IL called The Super City Grill. They had just opened and we were the very first customers of the day. Not long after we ordered, my son, Ryder grew restless and started wandering. I tried directing and distracting him, even taking him outside for a walk, but before long the restlessness turned into frustration. You see, Ryder is a Level 3 nonverbal Autistic kiddo so, restaurants can be difficult to traverse….but, we were on vacation so we HAD to stop to eat. When we came back in, the waitress smiled and said, “He’s just fine. He can walk all over and we don’t mind one bit.” Her kindness already had me at ease. But then she noticed Ryder’s struggle and gently asked, “Is he Autistic? Does he like spinning?” Our eyes met, and in that moment I felt completely understood. I nodded and said, “He is… and he does.” She disappeared to the back, only to return with an office chair that spins. Ryder climbed in, grinning ear to ear, and just like that…he was content. We were all able to enjoy a delicious meal together. This. This is inclusion. I didn’t catch her name, but to that waitress today: thank you for seeing us, for understanding, and for making us feel so welcomed. Aside from this stellar human interaction, the food was DELICIOUS and affordable. The boys played pool and Ryder spun while we waited for our food. It was a great experience. The food highlight of our little vacation.“

“We had breakfast there today and it was some of Best Food we had. Everything was nicely cooked, soft fluffy hot cakes ,very soft and tender sausage, some very good biscuit and gravy, and to top it off some nice sweet tea. We so will be going back more often. Thank you Rubes for the amazing food!“

“I can certainly see why this place was busy when I came by. The outside has a classic diner look and that's carried through on the inside as well. I had a club sandwich with onion rings and a friend had chili. We are both quite happy with the food. It tasted great and certainly was very reasonably priced. It is not a fancy place but certainly a great diner experience! Service was fantastic and we got our food quickly.“

“My husband & I was on our way home to IL after celebrating our 38th anniversary in Pigeon Forge. We stopped here for dinner it was the best meal we had in the whole 10 days that we were gone. “The dipped cones are delicious but VERY messy! We were given plenty of napkins thankfully. The mushroom swiss burger was heavenly as well. The patty was cooked just enough, not tough at all, cheese was super melty, and they even use fresh mushrooms.“

“EVERYTHING WAS GREAT WITH MY FOOD. OUR SERVER,KAYLA,,WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND COURTEOUS. However the manager,who I asked my server about, named Frank, kept coming by & asking if we were ready to pay..which we were not! I was going to get dessert but finally just paid him after the second time of him asking. I've never felt so rushed! Then, as we were leaving, he was cursing at the hostess..saying "what a b☆☆☆h!" My 10 yr old niece heard him, too! I told him how unprofessional and wrong he was for his actions. Hard to believe this guy is actually a manager! Wow. We wont be back. That guy should be fired!“

“We love Cheddars but are experiencing them running out of things lately, which is annoying after you search the menu, make your selection, and then the server tells you after you've ordered that they are out of things. If a restaurant runs out of certain items, servers should be told immediately so customers can be told BEFORE ordering. It's the courteous and respectful thing to do. We like their food in general, so we'll dine there again, but hopefully they do better with professionalism regarding running out of items and telling us after we've ordered and waited an additional 10-15 minutes.“

“My food and shake was delicious! I hope the restaurant doesn't get rid of the shake glasses, they were cool! However, I had no idea they got rid of the servers and went to kiosks. They were easy to use but it still felt kind of lonely. It also asking for a tip is goofy. I had to put in my own order and wait for my name to be called. I am not tipping the kiosk. I rather tip the people in the back.“

“I got there early in the morning. I think my server was Rebecca from my recipe. I was tired and hungry from doing a lot of driving and had a few hours of driving left. But, I wasn’t expecting my Big Steak Omelette to be bigger than the picture in the menu! And, it was sooooo good that I ate the whole thing instead of taking half of it back home with me! The server was just so kind, and made sure I had enough coffee, cream, and sugar. She told me of some health issues. And, I hope she she’s alright till the night time I ever get down there.
