“I’m honestly surprised by the negative reviews. This Starbucks consistently delivers a great cup of premium coffee, and they do it fast. The store is always clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located.

What really sets this place apart is the staff. The baristas, especially Silvana, Cari, Reese 😞, Priscilla, Morgan, and others — are friendly, professional, and always greet you with a warm smile. Their positive energy truly makes all the difference.

I get tons of productive work done here, and the atmosphere is perfect for focus or casual meetups. Sure, some folks might have issues with the company’s politics (hence the negative reviews), but let’s be real, people come here for more than just the coffee. It’s the overall experience.

“Tried the ham & cheese croissant and did not enjoy it at all. The cheese and ham looked and tasted like plastic, although the croissant itself was soft. Wouldn't recommend. However, the donuts were pretty solid. ?Cute dog toys for sale at this location ?“

“The pastries are very delicious! I have a variety of them. They are some of the best I have had in unexpected combinations. The latte I had was floral and balanced. It was a Lavender Latte. “The Skull Island drink had an interesting taste since I don't usually go for drinks with banana syrup, but it was fun to try. Their bagels were very good and perfectly toasted, and the vegan cream cheese wasn't bad either. The staff was super nice and welcoming, and the decorations really make the place stand out. There's also a good amount of seating, and you can even pop into the record store next door through the connecting door, which is a cool touch.“

“Sometimes it seems like the people are so stoned they can not really explain things if you have never been there. Also pricing can be very misleading if you do not know what your looking at and just thinking oh ill try this with this. They when you get to the register you have a 30$ drink and you have no idea why and doesnt even have an effect on you. Just read and dont feel rushed because there is usually a line. Some of the edibles I think are way overpriced but most are from places like this.“

“Moonwalker is our favorite neighborhood cafe! They have the best sandwiches both for breakfast and lunch and such delicious lattes, the banana bread latte is to die for. All only made better by their incredible staff!“

The girl who helped me was so sweet, super patient, and explained everything perfectly. You can really tell they care about the customer experience and make sure you feel comfortable and taken care of. Now let’s talk about the lemonades—WOW. Infused and delicious, it was honestly one of the best lemonades I’ve ever had. And the baked goods? Incredible. Soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. Everything I tried was amazing, and I can’t wait to go back and try more. I seriously love, love, love this place. The staff, the products, the vibe—Blazed Bakery is on point. “Love this new local coffee shop! I'm always on the lookout for a good independently owned coffee shop and this is at the top of my list. The iced coffee is amazing - the flavor has a slight sweetness to it which sets it apart from a lot of other brews I've had. The inside is small but has plenty of seating, so a great place to get studying/work done (plus free - reliable - wifi). The icing on the cake is that their mission is to support local shelter dogs - 50% of sales on their merchandise goes to Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. The dog-themed decor is also adorable. Highly recommend!!!“

“This cafe has a wonderful interior with a lot of seating options. I am a fan of Filipino cafes and was excited to try this one out. I ordered the ube matcha, and they were out of the mango and strawberry matcha. I’m unsure if this is because I went on a Saturday at 10:30a.m., but they may be out of certain flavors. The latte had a mild flavor of both ube and matcha, and if that’s what you’re looking for then I recommend trying it out! If not, then try a different Filipino cafe in Chicago. I didn’t get a chance to try the food, and was honestly a bit confused by the menu. I wish they had the food menu also posted instead of a QR code to ease the process of looking at options. I did not realize they had other food options besides baked goods until after I ordered and looked online. Also, there was some confusion about what baked goods were available bc they were crossed out on the menu (see photo) but the cashier told me they had everything available, including the banana bread, until she checked in the back. Overall, had an okay experience here.“

“I ordered the fuul and also a mango madness smoothie from here and it was all really fresh and amazing. The fuul wasn’t too spicy, it was very flavorful and the customer service was great. I’m super picky but I’m glad I tried their food I’ll most definitely be back.“

“Deserves more than 5 stars! WONDERFUL experience each time I come here. Everything made from scratch. Not just pierogi ---Gelato, soups, empanadas, tamales, pizza pie (takes 50 mins to make from scratch and worth it!!) Premium Belgium chocolates, shakes, Coffee and most recent.....160 (yes one hundred and sixty) different premium teas from around the world!!.....and more to come! They also own the tea room and book store next to the cafe. Owners are THE BEST! Welcoming, personable and humorous. Dinning outside available and pups are welcome! Like he said, “when you go there, he wants it to be more than just good food …he wants it to be an experience”, and he truly delivers!“

“I brought my three little girls here after playing at Indian Boundary Park and received absolutely wonderful service from Ricky. The coffee was tasty, the girls loved the herbal tea he made for them at just the right temperature, and the holler deal for a pastry and beverage can’t be beat! He even took the time to bring out some coloring books and colored pencils to give the girls something to do, though I think they were most entranced with the working rotary phone. We will definitely be back!“

This Christmas, I decided to try their take-n-bake kouign-amann; and OMG my family and I were IN LOVE with the Ham & Gruyere kouign-amann! “Drink Happy Thoughts is a great little spot in Uptown—cozy, welcoming, and very neighborhood-forward in the best way.

The Butter Me Up drink was the clear standout: a perfect balance of sweetness and espresso, smooth and incredibly well done. The Bee Sting was good, but I would’ve loved a bit more kick to really make it pop.

Food-wise, their breakfast sandwiches are fire. The Notorious with pesto was a fantastic start to the day—flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with care.

Really happy to have found this local gem. Will definitely be back.“

“There’s ample indoor seating (high tops, low tops, couches), along with an outdoor patio, and even a conference room to work in. The staff is really attentive to detail when it comes to anticipating guests’ needs. They work with a sense of urgency too.“

“This was my second time eating here but 6th time having their food - I think I have confidence in this place to be consistently good. So when I brought my family here visiting for the first time time, for dinner, I was rest assured. We had come in at 8, and put in our order by 820 - all vegetarian with veggies and tofu. 30 minutes go by (nearly closing) and they come back to say they’ve run out tofu. Understandably, we were disappointed. We reluctantly made the modifications to our dishes as it was too late to go anywhere else. 30 more minutes elapse and we’re wondering where our food was; lone and behold, the restaurant had gone out to procure tofu for our dishes. Despite the bad taste the first half left in our mouth, the second half of them going above to fix the issue and make incredible food made up for it. Will come again, but just will confirm the tofu availability beforehand ;)“

“It’s cute little coffee shop on a great spot on the corner. It has a small menu of the classic coffee options like latte and cortado, and they have 3 syrup options of lavender, vanilla, or mocha (nope, no caramel!). I forget how small the 8oz is it fits so cutely in my hand but it was a good amount of coffee for my walk home. A bit higher prices but it’s a small business supporting our community! Plenty of seating and space to study, work, or chill!“

“I stopped at the Doppio Coffee House in Chicago, I absolutely loved it! I ordered the salmon open-face sandwich and it was incredible; fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The atmosphere is so cozy, perfect for relaxing with great food and coffee. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, you can tell they truly love what they do and care about their guests. Their warm energy made the experience feel personal and memorable.
I also tried their energy balls, and they were delicious, the perfect treat with my coffee.
