Dough is amazing, cheese is high quality, and all of our ingredients were fresh and fantastic. We had strong drinks, and some nice garlic cheese bread. Pequod's lived up to this foodie's expectations, despite me being a critic about deep dish at times. Just wow, what a meal! I will make sure I come back every single time I return to Chicago. “I have been to Frasca's multiple times and it never disappoints. I went last night with my husband and we enjoyed it very much.

Our server was FANTASTIC! She was kind, quick, and helpful.

We started the night with the arancini, they were delicious risotto balls. There are 5 of them, so be weary if you want to split between two of them. My only critique is that they needed a little salt. My husband had the 4 star old fashion, which was just okay.

We also had the Mezze, which gives you three options. We had the mozzarella, tomato, basil bruschetta which was very good. We also had the red rock cheese and sweet soppresetta for a meat. It came with grapes, pickles, nuts, jam, and a Parmesan lavish. It was very good and a fun way to split some items. It was a lot of appetizers for just the two of us so I'd suggest going smaller depending on your party.

For our mains we had the pappardelle bolognese & orecchiette scarpiello. The bolognese is delicious, you can't go wrong with a classic. The orecchiette scarliello was divine, I could drink the sauce. The chicken in it was also a great add. I did wish the kale was chopped slightly smaller so it didn't overpower some bites. Otherwise, both were great. I would order them again. My husband had a glass of Cantina tritana montepulciano with dinner. It was very good wine, not too dry or sweet. He truly enjoyed it.

We finished the night with the tiramisu. It was pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but it was decent. The portion was worth the cost.

“You can’t skip the charred octopus to start! It’s a perfect appetizer to share with an incredible roasted Calabrian chili sauce. My absolute favorite dish is the pennette cardinale! I can’t go to Sapori without ordering. The creamy tomato sauce pairs perfectly with the sun-dried tomatoes. I’m drooling just thinking about it! Lastly, you have to finish your dinner with the bread pudding. The warm pudding with the cold ice cream is perfection in every bite. 10/10 always!“

“My first time here, and I loved it! Got there early with my own choice of seating. It’s pretty quiet on the inside, so it’s easy to talk with your table. The food is traditional Italian, and delicious. Our server Jeff was patient, friendly and informative. He carded us for drinks and saw it was my birthday. “We drove down from Milwaukee. I’ve been wanting to try Tortello since they’ve opened and I found out that they source their eggs from where I get mine (they are the best). Dario was kind, friendly, and extremely engaging. The food was fantastic. We started with Focaccia Ricotta & Honey which was ridiculously good. I had the spaghetti pomodoro which was perfectly balanced sauce to pasta to cheese. My husband had the Cacio e Pepe and devoured it. Our son had the Kids Lumache and ate half (he’s only two) and inhaled the rest tonight. It smelled even better the second time around if that’s possible. Best authentic Italian I’ve had in the States. Felt great after too, not like I’d eaten a pound of pasta. If you aren’t making plans to go sometime soon…you’re missing out!“

“What a great meal and service at Pasta D'Arte Trattoria Italiana!

To start, the drinks were solid—a nicely balanced Manhattan on the rocks and generous pours on the wines by the glass. Our group of four shared the Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad, both excellent and plenty to go around.

For entrées, we enjoyed the Linguini Del Mare, Pumpkin Ravioli, Osso Buco, and Walleye Alla Piccata. Everyone loved their dishes! Note that the tomato-based sauces have a nice spicy kick from red pepper—we really enjoyed it, but if you prefer milder, I assume they can likely accommodate.

The attentive and knowledgeable service made the experience even better, guiding us through choices nicely. Free valet on a busy Saturday night was a plus as well, and the overall vibe was welcoming.

My only complaint: the place gets very noisy on a packed Saturday night, making conversation tough without raising your voice. It's that lively, bustling trattoria energy, though!

The bone in new york strip cooked to my specification and the sauce had a rich deep flavor that complemented the steak perfectly. “If your looking for a true hidden neighborhood gem come to Pastina. I came here for Valentine's Day with my wife and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and all the recommendations were on point. The chef was also able to make anything off menu but we went with the offerings. The Chicken Lemon I had was delicious and very well prepared with fresh capers. My wife had the chicken Vesuvio and loved her food and enjoyed the fresh mushrooms in the sauce, she said it was like eating two different meals at the same time. We also had the spinach soup which my wife fell in love with and now wants the recipe. The Bruschetta with the sweet roasted tomatoes is a must try. For dessert we topped it off with a delicious creme brulee cheese cake. Our server was very kind and attentive and everything she recommended was 5 stars. I will say this is a very date night spot and cozy space but don't let that stop you from coming with a small group of friends though I'd recommend a reservation for that. Neighborhood parking isn't too bad but I'd say give yourself a little time to get here and find a spot. I can't wait to come back and try more.“
