“The place was very clean and spacious. We ordered Marinated Kalbi boneless short ribs, thin sliced beef brisket, vegetable soybean paste and cold noodles. Overall foods are good. The service was very good. Price is kind of high. We are ok to visit here once. We were the first customers for the lunch. By the time we left, there were total of 5 tables including us.“

The dolsot bibimbap arrived perfectly sizzling in its pot and the bossam was cooked very well. Their stews and kimchi jeon are equally tasty! The atmosphere is lovely—personal, clean, and perfect for good conversation. The staff are wonderfully kind, too.

As a Korean, I often miss certain dishes that are hard to recreate at home. I haven’t found many places in Chicago that nail it like this, but Tang certainly does. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant if you’re looking for yummy Korean food :)“

“My 13 year old son recommended this restaurant, and I had no expectations walking in. I was surprised by the bright, welcoming atmosphere and wowed by the fabulous service. I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.

The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.

“This place is inside Hmart on the side by the checkout registers. The bacon cheese & egg toast was really good. It'd be easier to eat if the bacon was inside the sandwich instead of being right on top but not a big deal. They have corn dogs and tanghulu that alot of other people ordered but I didn't try those.“

“The Jopok Army Rice Cake was excellent. Tons of fat, fresh ddeokbokki and lots of thick cuts of spam and hot dog. The flavor was authentic, sweet and spicy- a lot of the ddeokbokki I’ve had state side is pretty bland.

The owner did not seem to be in a good mood. Don’t expect a lot of explanation of menu items. But if you know what you’re ordering, it’s pretty good!“

“We decided to give Haewadall another shot and it has turned a new leaf. The jokbal was soft and tender and freshly made; good quality. The bossam was also soft and naturally sweet; albeit not as naturally sweet nor as tender as the first year it opened (I remember wanting to eat the bossam as is without sauces). It did have a slight pig smell but not repulsive at all.
I would definitely go back and order both dishes again.
It seems like it’s starting to build back up the older Korean clientele (which are the best judges/most critical). The side dishes were pretty good.

We arrived around noon and surprisingly had the place to ourselves, which made the atmosphere calm and relaxing, with soft music playing in the background. My friend ordered the beef bulgogi while I went for the galbi soup—both were absolutely delicious and tasted so authentic that I still find myself thinking about it today. 😭 No Korean spot where I live even comes close to matching it!

“I did take out for a gathering last night, and the wings were delicious. We got the honey garlic and galbi flavored wings, and they were a hit with everyone at the party. A friend who has done takeaway with them previously said that their kimchi fried rice was the best they’ve had, so I’ll try that next time. My order was ready to go at the time promised. I will definitely order again!“

I am a FAN of chinese food, but no where around suburbs and chicago will you find such FRESH food! Veggies are perfectly done, meat is perfectly cooked! Sauce is amazing taste! I had their Happy Family Dish , Chicken fried rice and Khan Pau Chicken .

“It has really good light and crispy soy garlic sauce or spicy honey and 4 other flavors. But a bit salty that it needs a side of rice. The jajjang myun ( lack bean paste noodles) were good esp bc they had a choice or vegetarian and it’s so nice to have this option bc most places make the sauce w pork. Thank you. Open seating inside Hmart. Yummy but please less salt in the crispy chicken. Thank you.“
