“The food is outstanding....so fresh and interesting. Kudos for the very good service we received. Our only concern is the noise level that makes it difficult to hear the person across the table. If the noise level could be lowered, this place would be golden!“
“Hands down one of the best restaurants in Chicago to start. The food is fantastic and is so consistent. Star of the show is fried chicken skins. So crispy and the sauce is bangin. I like to get the Viet dip which is like a healthy version of an Italian beef. Instead of gravy you get to dip your sando in some pho. The crispy wings and beef dumplings are also amazing. In terms of the atmosphere it’s a vibe for sure. They’ve got dope drinks and vanilla turtle chips to go. If you’re not an early 2000s hip hop fan maybe opt for pick up or delivery. If you can name all members of the Wu-Tang Clan then you’ll love the cozy dining area with a solid mantra glowing in neon: SEND NOODS. My new Friday lunch spot on repeat. Check it out ?“
“Longtime customer of this beautiful place full of hardworking people who love food just as much as I do, they just recently were able to give themselves a much deserved facelift and continue to provide amazing service and food that will always have a special place in my heart!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Lemongrass, Tofu“
“This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Their prices are reasonable, and nearly everything that I have ever ordered here has been excellent. They take great care to make their pho broth, and their banh mi are so delicious - fresh bread, top notch ingredients, and great portioning. There's a generous amount of protein, and the sandwich is not overflowing. The exception for the food goes to their smoothies which could take a little more attention - to be fair, this is not their focus, but I figured I'd mention it in case they are reading.Takeout is handled professionally again with great attention to making sure that the final product is as good as if you were in the restaurant. If you order pho, it all comes separate so that nothing gets overcooked or soggy. I live 40 minutes away and sometimes get take away, and I find that, even then, the food that I ordered travels extremely well - even the banh mi and fries!Every time I go, I'm impressed. With a bill under 50 dollars almost every time, I'm also financially satisfied. The staff are a joy to see and interact with, and while the restaurant itself is modest, it is a calm place to enjoy some soul-nourishing food or a quiet conversation with friends.Vegetarian options: Their tofu banh mi is delicious. Not sure if it's entirely vegetarian.Wheelchair accessibility: There are two front doors; however, there are no steps to enter, so it should be easily wheelchair accessible. The tables all have moveable chairs, and the bathroom is a clear shot that is on the same level as the restaurant seating. If I remember correctly, there are assist rails in the bathroom.“
“I was in the area visiting my siblings and was craving pad thai. I ordered a party tray for $60 so i can share with the family. It did not dissapoint. It was so good. Matter fact best pad thai I ever had. I also ordered shrimp spring roll. Spring roll is delicious, fresh, and nice size. Highly recommend. Definitely will be ordering again. Workers was also very nice.“
“We ended up ordering via Grubhub on a lazy day. We really enjoyed the pho that we got. My husband ordered the Tank XL. It came with so many different kinds of beef. The noodles were a bit hard to get to at the bottom of the takeout container. I got a regular pho with tofu. I definitely got a lot of veggies with it. The portions were ample that we were able to have another meal from it! I'd definitely order from here again.“
“Seated immediately waited on immediately food came out hot no sooner than we ordered it. Ordered the fried shrimp spring rolls, I definitely should have ordered more they were good hot crispy so flavorful. The pho broth was amazing the shrimp fried rice was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come again.“
“Never had Vietnamese food before, and this was such a delightful surprise! We tried and shared many things, all of them typical: pork noodles soup, egg rolls, beef sandwich, chicken and shrimp crepe and at the end a hot Vietnamese coffee. Everything was delicious, the service extremely kind and the atmosphere very cozy.I will definitely come again “
“We had the Prime Brisket, Smoked Blue Crab Rangoon, Potato Salad, Smash Cucumbers and shared. Honestly I wish I would have not had to share the Prime Brisket. Everything was beyond delightful! The owners were so warm and friendly!! I can't wait to go back. I hope they are able to open a restaurant at some point! The Spilt Milk bar is beautiful.“
“Great neighborhood spot! The service is quick and easy. There's two big tablets you order your food and boba through. They will text/call your name whenever your food is ready. There's more than enough seating on the inside if you wanted to dine in. We got the mango and Thai tea bubble tea. It was delicious! The boba comes in one size in a larger glass. We also got the spring rolls and fried tofu. They both come with delicious sauces and both foods tasted so fresh. I'll definitely be back for the Banh mi!“
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Dining at Viet Taste Restaurant was an absolute delight! The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Pho. The broth was exceptionally flavorful, rich, and aromatic, striking the perfect balance of spices and seasonings. It's evident that they use high-quality ingredients and take great care in simmering the broth to perfection. The warm, welcoming atmosphere coupled with their excellent service made our experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a Pho aficionado or trying it for the first time, Viet Taste Restaurant is the place to go. Highly recommended for anyone looking to satisfy their cravings for authentic Vietnamese cuisine!“
“I was in the mood for some Vietnamese food. Luckily, there was one near me so I decided to give it a try. Ordered grilled pork with jasmine rice & bahn mi teriyaki chicken. It was honestly pretty good. The grilled pork was so tasty and great combo to the jasmine rice and salad. The bahn mi was mind blowing. Perfectly how I pictured. However, it does contain sliced jalapeños, so this is just a heads up. Still, I would definitely order again frequently. Highly recommended as service was quick and direct“
“It's hard to get a bahn mi to be well balanced and I think this place gets it right. I'm a sucker for ginger chicken and it was great, the pickled veg rocked and the bread (arguably the most important component) was outstanding. Liked the counter style ordering and the tea I got was pretty good, I don't know tea so I got no notes. Nice music too and service was quick.“
“New spot in the neighborhood! Restaurant’s decor is simple yet very roomy, an ideal spot for those who dislike to be enclosed or squished. It’s family owned restaurant so the atmosphere was very comfortably and quiet.Food was phenomenal, fresh and delicious! But most importantly reasonable priced. The service was friendly and fast. We had Pho and broth was rich and aromatic filled with lots of toppings. We also had Bo La Lot which was beautifully presented. Then we also had Bun Cha Ha Noi, amazing and authentic. Bun bo hue was delicious. I can say that all dishes taste great. It’s must try restaurant!“
“By far the most amazing pho in Chicago maybe even the world! Spectacular! Stephanie, Ian and Julian all make a great team effort to make sure your table is satisfied and happy. As if your belly already wasn’t. Good food and great vibes. Menu is extensive and I haven’t had one dish that I didn’t enjoy. Lee is an amazing cook and Sandra makes you feel at home. Thanks again everyone at Pho Viet!“
“This little gem of a restaurant has hands down the best Vietnamese food on the north side of Chicago. I crave the beef pho and shrimp spring rolls at least once a week. Don’t go to Argyle Street. Come here! The pho on Argyle Street is salty and dark. The pho broth here has been cooked for hours. and is perfect. And BYOB too! You won’t be disappointed. Family owned….run by a lovely lady and the cooks are her aunt and uncle.“
“Love this cute little spot. It’s located in a plaza next to Tous le Jours. We were looking for Pho on a cold day, and this place definitely hit the spot. It’s super cozy and everything we tried was delicious. We had the ox tail pho, egg rolls, and pork bao. The short rib was also delicious ?“
“I’ve been getting food from here (mostly carry out) for more than 10 years and the food is still delicious! One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. My husband loves their pho, my son loves their pork over rice, and my favorite is the sate soup and noodles. The staff there are very nice too! Thank you Hoanh Long!Just writing this review is making me hungry! hehe“
“Got the spring rolls, chicken wings, Vietnamese iced coffee and two kinds of pho. The chicken wings were INCREDIBLE, my pho was loaded with wontons and a bunch of different kinds of meat and seafood, and the Vietnamese coffee was INSANELY good. Like the best I’ve ever had. The bill was very cheap too. Highly recommend!“
“this place is awesome. I tried both the lemongrass pork and coco special banh mi and they were both great. the flavors & meat-bread ratio made them some of the better Vietnamese sandwiches I’ve had in the city. not too heavy but still filling.“
“Pho No. 1 is one of the best pho places I've had not located in Argyle (or named Pho Nam Lua.)The broth is layered, flavorful, and yet, still light. The meats are all carefully curated for each bowl and do not arrive to the table already overcooked in the soup.If you're willing to venture off the beaten path, the other Vietnamese cuisine are also all solid. I suggest trying any of the dishes with the chef's caramelized sauce (but be aware that it comes with a kick).“
“My family reserved half the restaurant for CNY, and the staff were on top of everything despite a VERY full and busy restaurant. Best cooked pork, so soft and juicy (order #027). I seriously should have taken photos, because I regret having no accompanying images. Everything was delicious.Dietary restrictions: I have a kid with peanut allergy, and they easily swapped out peanut sauce for fish sauce to eat with the spring rolls. No issues, very accommodating.“
“The Best Pho in and near Chicago! This place is really a Hidden Gem! The food Quality is Superior to Pho Restaurants in the Downtown Area and in China town! The owner really know what he is doing and they provide a generous Military Discount.I love this place and I recommend it in any type of weather also try the iced coffee!!!Vegetarian options: Options for Everyone !!Parking: It's is located right next to wing stop !!! In a small shopping plaza on the Westside of Harlem Ave.“
“Had a wonderful dinner here!!!! We were not served by the robot BUT IT WAS VERY EXCITING!!!I had the crunchy noodles and they were delicious, once I figured out how to eat them. I had them with chicken and they were good!My friend had seafood rice soup, others mentioned but the seafood was cooked a bit longThe spring rolls were delicious and I loooved the peanut sauceAlso very good thai ice tea!“
“It was a delicious lunch that had me tempted to get more spring rolls. I don't really even like going up north like that, but I'm willing to right back up there to eat some more of their food. That pork Bahn mi, it was the pork one number 148, was delicious. The fresh, crisp, and flavorful veggies with the tender pork were a party on my taste buds. I even enjoyed the heat of the jalapeños. Got some pho to take home and have for dinner tonight.“
“This is my new place for all things Viet food! They have a SPECTACULAR selection of standard and niche vietnamese dishes. They have a really good selection of vegan dishes as well. Service is top tier with rly attentive/ friendly staff. I stopped by because the place next door was closed and it was the best decision! If you're used to the curt and oftentimes downright rude staff from the pho place next door, you're in for a treat here. Give them a try!“
“This is the only place you’re going to find such customizable Che in Chicago, or really at all. When I come from out of town I always try to stop here because it’s so delicious Thank you guys for bringing such a refreshing and healthy dessert to the area.I hope Che becomes just as popular as bubble tea one day!Vegetarian options: All drinks are vegetarian friendly and most drinks are vegan friendly as well“
“All in all I thought that this place had a really nice atmosphere and that the staff was kind. I think my only problem was the food (i had the pho with all the kinds of meat, which while good wasn't hot enough to fully cook the beef or even fully defrost it in a good amount of time, which resulted in my trying to heat the broth in the microwave as to speed up the process. I will note that I had gotten it to go and am not sure if it is a better situation when dining in, and honestly, I imagine it would be.“
“Experienced the food for the first time at Stevenson High School's Asian Market Night. The banh mi sandwiches were fire! We enjoyed it so much and will stop by the restaurant when we are in the area! Thank you for supporting the youth in repping our food and culture!“
“This is such a hidden gem the best pho I've had in Chicago hands down! The food is just amazing I get the P1 pho the broth is full of flavor! If you have a chance check it out and the service is always top notch always friendly and kind“
“Nostalgia: 5 starsAmbiance:5 starsFood: just right. The Bahn Mi is great.I personally love their shrimp fried rice. Its just good basic shrimp fried rice.Shrimp crackers are perfect. What can i say.. Its a place for food and conversations...Just pure joy to Dine in.“
“This place was clean, warm, and friendly. I ordered rare steak phó. No one seems to actually serve it rare anymore, though. I used to love it when the meat came to the table in a place raw and separate from the broth. Perhaps it's different in different places. The broth was bland, like it hadn't had a chance to simmer long enough for the spices to meld. It's a popular place, though. As I sat there, more and more families arrived to fill this place up. So maybe I'll give this place a try. There is nothing like finding YOUR Phó spot that you can rely on for *really - good - pho*. I'll be back to try again.“
“The best band me sandwich in Chicago as far as I'm concerned. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because it has cleanliness issues. You definitely don't wanna know what's going on in the kitchen. And if you've taken a look in their bathroom, you definitely know that you don't want to think about what is getting cleaned, if anything. Some of the stuff in the fridge I think is dubious when it comes to food safety standards. But the sandwiches are so good you want to eat 10 of them just for the flavor, especially the barbecue pork.“
“We always order to go from here. The servers are nice. We love their pho and of course their bahn mi. I toast the bahn mi and hmmm so good. Its just smaller niw but full of meat inside. I havent ordered anything else but those are my 2 fave. The place is typical resto, nice but nothing flashy. Street parking only but there is a nearby public parking.“
“I really loved my dinner. The service was so nice, fast and attentive. I had the brisket Pho and everything was fresh and flavorful. Very filling and warming. Flavors were perfect. The restaurant was clean and I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.“
