“This sushi spot has great sushi at competitive prices! The rice was very well cooked and the fish was very fresh. The restaurant is no frills but If you are looking to get take out sushi this should be your go to spot. They also do party platters for when you have people over. I am so glad we read about this place on what’s happening Geneva and gave it a try!“

“I loved the place!!! Everything is excellent!! The sushi are delicious, fresh ingredients and of very good quality, I asked for a sushi without seaweed, they did not have it on the menu, it seems that they had never prepared it like that, but the chef was SUPER KIND and accommodated my request, it was DELICIOUS !!! Everything is perfect in the restaurant… the customer service, the calm atmosphere with a very nice decoration, everything very clean… they already have a new client!! RECOMMENDED?%!!!Parking: Parking is right in front of the place and with plenty of spaces available.“

“Great miso soup! Very flavorful and one of the best I’ve had recently. Got both vegetables and chicken dumplings as toppings and both were great. Decent amount of food for the price. Has a vegetable broth for the soups which was interesting to see but did not get that broth. Highly recommend. The place could use a renovation, but it’s not a big deal. Also wish they had more lights in the night in the parking lot.“

“This place is a hidden gem. Small shop in a strip mall near residential area serving up great sushi and traditional bento style meals. The chefs are funny and engaging if you sit at the sushi counter. Have a good selection of sake and Japanese beers. They usually have a game on the TV behind and the servers at tables are always attentive and helpful. We've eaten here a couple times a year for several years. It's a great place for a quiet date night. Minimal change to menu over time and that's a good thing. Sushi menu does not disappoint.“

“Top tier experience. It's more than just pictures, it's the real deal. It's better in real life.Walked in on a Tuesday, early hour with my date and we both have nothing but good things to say.The first impression was booming. It's a beautiful space. So beautifully decorated and thoughtfully put together.Kaylie our server and the bartender was great. Service was prompt and professional. Everyone had a smile and friendly attitude. The food was ?Lots of gluten-free options, which for me a huge plus. They have a whole gluten-free menu, that's nice to take out the guess work.Protip: Get the Seven Spicy Tuna of toasted rice or whatever it's technically called. (I'm close enough) lol. So good ???Great experience.10/10 recommend“

“Great food & amazing service! My coworkers go regularly for lunch & I joined them for the first time last week. Went again today with my family & the waitress even remembered my order. She is so kind! She went above & beyond & took the initiative to hold the door for my elderly mother & help her both going in & leaving while I parked the car & brought it around.“

“This place is good when you’re in need of a sushi fix. Service is a bit slow on the sushi side, but that can be associated with how busy it can get. They have great rolls though, and personally I think their miso soup is better than other local sushi restaurants… not that I could tell you why.“

“Very impressed with this restaurant as I have not been here since they changed ownership. The ambiance is lovely and the service is outstanding. It's definitely a hidden gem in the suburbs. It was quiet enough on my night out that I was able to get suggestions right from the sushi chefs which made it an even cooler experience. I highly recommend trying out this restaurant, and as a small business owner myself I love it even more supporting a family run restaurant! I got the sushi combo and upgraded to a fantasy roll. So stinking good.“

“Party of 4 and we waited 34 minutes to order at 5:30 on a Sunday. Very slow service but fresh and delicious food. The sushi rolls are about $20 each and are made to order. We had the popcorn lobster, which was fantastic and some poke tuna on the appetizer menu and it was phenomenal. The OMG and Dirty Old Man rolls were also very good. Pretty decent cocktail menu as well. I had the Bourban drink and it was very good, but I could tell it sat for a while because the ice cube size clearly had melted.“

“This is, hands down one of the only other Hibachi Grills I've ever been to that I can say is without a doubt the best food I've ever had.The Hibachi is Michelin Star level good, especially with the golden shrimp. The sushi is some of the best combinations I've ever had. I'll add picture in my next update. It's so good I plan trips to drive 2+ hours just to have an excuse to go here, it's THAT good.Highly recommend.“
“It's not only sushi! The sushi and their edamame are delicious. They have the perfect combination between two cultures. They added a variety of delicious fusion items to the menu. Burgers, arepas and tequeños. Best latin dishes in town. Quality and outstanding service. Will definitely be back.“

For my sushi, I got the shrimp tempura roll and california roll. Shrimp tempura roll in my absolute favourite! The sushi sauce on top is so delicious, i could drink it by the gallon. The service is very good too, the workers are kind and efficient.“

“We've been going here for about 16 years now. We worried that the pandemic would shut their doors but they survived! Andy is our chef! He makes the going their worth while. His positive attitude, his cooking style. He enjoys hosting his customers. The other staff as well do a fantastic job. I wish we were closer but always worth the drive.Kid-friendliness: They have kid chopsticks and the chefs always put on a good show for the kids!“

“Shima's Sushi is my absolute favorite hole-in-the-wall restaraunt. I have been coming here since 2011. I am always satisfied with the food.I see a few complaints about lack of door service. As a semi-regular for 13+ years, I have always just sat down at the sushi bar or a table, Shima will always notice you and someone will come for your order.I judge an establishment on the quality of the food and the ambiance / comfort I feel. Shima's Sushi feels like walking into a friend's house for a meal-- it's so casual you can just walk in and sit where you want. You're not bothered every 5 minutes to see how you like everything, you just order and enjoy the experience. And when you're ready to pay, I just ask for the bill and go up front to pay. And give my thanks to an always-smiling Shima before I go!Our favorites: edamame, miso soup, the specialty sushi rolls (sunset, black dragon, anything with tempura crumbs!!) and the deep fried rolls. Mochi ice cream balls are delicious.Hubby approves the spicy seafood soup.Kids approve the chicken nuggets.“

“Everything was so good! Service was decent, food was great. Drinks were well made and prices were similar to everywhere else these days. The tempura brownie dessert is huge!!! The Frenchie burger was sloppy and delicious. The 3% service fee to help with costs when costs were not cheaper than anywhere else was not great in my opinion.“
“Recently moved here from a couple towns over. Craving Chinese food, wangs garden popped up on yelp, figured a would try it out. This place is great, and the price is awesome. I had to double take in the bill to make sure I ordered everything. Great food, fast service, and great prices.“

“Went here for my bday and got the Mongolian BBQ, fried rice and the gyoza. It was a Friday and the waitress informed us that they were short staffed. Even with being short staffed they got everything out in a reasonable time. The Mongolian BBQ was top notch. perfectly cooked, full of flavor and the bowl size is perfect. Next time I go I'll go with the AYCE since the BBQ is included and you can go up for seconds.Fried rice was really good but in my opinion it had too many mini carrots and peas. But otherwise I ate it all!The gyoza was SOOOOOO good, perfect crisp on them and with the dipping sauce they provide it added an extra layer of flavors! The gyoza is also included in the AYCE (all you can eat).I will be going again and I constantly tell my friends about this place.Kid-friendliness: The nuggets are tempura they are essentially mcdonalds nuggets but they weren't cooked in old oil.“

“So this place taste great and the food is fantastic. The inside is very nice and appears very clean. The biggest concern I have is the service and lack of help. I have been to this location a handful of times and every single time I've came there is only one person serving, the same person handling online orders, the same person cleaning and the same person seating. Today I'm watching this lady physically run everywhere she is going because she is so busy. Every single table is full. I'm not sure if it's a lack of help or just being cheap to hire help but they need it. I waited over 10 minutes to be greeted and have had to wait longer to order. Lady is busting her ass off so kudos to her but let's get her some help.“
