“We have gone her so many times. This place never disappoints us. The ladies are super nice. Food is served fast. They also pack the left overs for you. They also have vegetarian options.They have these super delicious almond cookies they give along with the fortune cookies.Thr decorations inside are unique and give a nice cozy look.Occasionally there are free music shows. One night there was Rod Stewart. We didn’t know about him, but we checked later. He is a celebrity of sorts.“

“Somehow got lucky and got seated as we walked in. A quick summary:1.) Ordered Sen Cha tea, beef gyoza, and Monster ramen. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Only thing I didn’t like was the limited menu add on options compared to some other ramen places around Chicago.2.) Parking can be difficult to find in the area when it’s busy.3.) Service is top line. They refill waters/tea and clear dishes so fast. Dessert menu came immediately after the main course.“

A lot of place use a sugary/ fake tasting orange sauce, but Broccoli has a very authentic and delightful taste. Our appetizers were super good, too. I was in town for a convention but I'd happily drive the hour it takes to get there to eat at Broccoli again.“

“Cool place! Tasty sour beer & my fried rice with chicken was yummy although it had a bit of a fishy taste (fish sauce?) which I wasn’t crazy about but didn’t hate either. It also had excessive bean sprouts but that’s my personal preference; I removed 95% of them lol. My friend got the Rose Tteokbokki; it was a bit spicy for her but had decent flavor. The bartender told us it’s a popular & well-liked dish ??‍♀️ I don’t live around here so I wouldn’t seek it out again but always nice to have new experiences!“

“A long overdue review. Noodlebird is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Every dish is full-flavored, bold, and made with thoughtful and creative pairings. The smoked tofu is incredible, the curry is my favorite, the peanut noodles are so soft and delicious, and the veggie Mac soup is one of my favorites. The bakery is also one of the best in the city.The creative desserts like mochi doughnuts, banana caramel brownie (my favorite brownie ever), the egg tarts (a must if you’ve never tried), the passion fruit Masada, and so many more are the perfect way to end the meal.The service is top notch, timely, super friendly, and warm.Noodlebird deserves any and all accolades for its super-creative dishes, friendly service, intensely flavored food, etc.“

“Went to try this place for my 1st time. When I went in I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. They have construction going on inside and there wasn't a name on the building or inside. Felt confused if I was in some type of office warehouse or something not sure. But I have to admit their food was amazing ?. They have so many choices to pick from. I definitely will be going back to try different plates. The price for the bowls is fair not over priced.“

I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp sandwich with extra shrimp. Absolutely delicious. It was not spicy but well seasoned. “04/02/24 - What an awesome add to the neighborhood. Teriyaki Madness is in the mall next to The Smash burger on Foster Ave. It's less than 1/2 mile from my house. I actually sampled their chicken teriyaki @ a Yelp event up in Lake Bluff @ Bernie's Book Bank. Teriyaki Madness has a store up in Gurnee, IL The teriyaki comes in 3 different sizes, Junior, regular or large. I ordered the regular sized chicken teriyaki bowl & it was more than enough for me as I had a little bit of left overs to take home. They have different options like regular or spicy chicken, chicken breast teriyaki, steak teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, tofu teriyaki & chicken katsu. Wry good seasoning w Great options. They also have appetizers like edamame, egg rolls, chicken potstickers & crab Rangoon. I was very pleasantly surprised w/the grilled chicken teriyaki served over brown rice w/veggies like cabbage & broccoli. I really enjoyed my meal & scarfed it down. I will definitely be back to try some of their other items like the steak teriyaki or chicken katsu.“

“I never really think much of the service and atmosphere ratings here on Google reviews but both at Kai Zan truly were top notch. As a birthday gift, my brother took me to try omakase for the first time, and it was a very cool food experience. Seeing the chefs and waiters and hosts do their thing was like watching a performance. I watched as the staff meticulously reset the table for the next people - everything perfectly placed down to the centimeter. The way they’re able to time everything is incredible too.My favorite of the courses was the very first and the shooters - very unique. The others were good but I appreciated the creativity of those. Very beautiful dishes and we were seated at the bar so we had a front row seat to watching the chefs cook (highly recommend). We also ordered the yuzu cheesecake and ube pound cake (unlisted) for dessert. At the end I wasn’t stuffed but I was content. A really great first omakase experience!“

“I come here for the Bring It On Noodles. This is a soup that tastes like nothing I've ever had. It combines the best of Thai flavors. The soup is spicy, tangy, sweet, savory, and packed with umami flavor. All of the elements of this soup pair so well together. 10/10 for this soup that I have damn near once/week. “What a lovely marvel - a mid century modern, quietly spacious Chinese restaurant with a select menu that fits in a small, two page flyer. The service was super friendly and gracious, all questions answered. We had a small dim sum lunch and each dish was prepared to order, some of the best I've had - steamed shrimp dumplings, bbq pork bau, sticky rice with pork wrapped in a leaf and steamed. Even the subtle music - beautiful jazz singing - made us happy. I so want to come back to this gem next time I'm in CHI.“

“This restaurant was suggested by a friend and we decided to have a dinner. When we arrived (around 6pm) the place was eerily empty, but started to fill up in the next hour. The ambience is a bit bland perhaps because the interior is outdated and boring. But the food was great and the service was good. The Curry Laksa was the star of the dinner with very unique and vibrant flavor profile. All other dishes were flavorful as well. The drinks were ok. Will come back when in the area.“

“On this night we visited Ninja Sushi in Portage Park for a late night dinner. We had talked about this place but I wasn’t sure that it was a good choice for me. It seemed gimmicky.I was wrong!The theme ties nicely with a homey Japanese ambiance end decor inside. Feels like a Wicker Park place in Portage Park.But… the real surprise was in the food! Here we go!We ordered Cucumber and Fried Tofu with Peanut sauce, Tamako, Woon Sen Pad Thai, Veggie Monster Maki, and Spider Maki. And since it’s a BYOB, I chose to pair that with ROAM Hard Kombucha Hibiscus Berry.The salad was very tasty with the dressing being well balanced but light on the sweetness and tanginess. Now… here is where the story takes a violent turn. I DO NOT LIKE TOFU and used to think that it was a food that should have never been made. UNTIL I tried Ninja’s Fried Tofu. It was fried crispy and with a firm yet light and fluffy inside. Totally different than any other tofu I’ve ever tasted. The peanut sauce was a rich pairing for it and was absolutely delicious. Tamako was Tamako, light and fluffy. Then came the Pad Thai and the rolls. The rolls, made fresh with quality ingredients you could taste. Complex yet subtle and definitely delicious! The Pad Thai was nothing short of fantastic! I asked for medium hot and they nailed it! It was lightly sweet and spicy and very tasty. Well balanced and not oily with good sized and plentiful shrimp.The presentation on every dish was beautiful and colorful and artsy. The service was awesome even as we were some of the last customers to leave at closing and this made us put Ninja on our Portage Park Fave list.Thank you for a memorable meal!“

“Forbidden noodles' primarily culinary focus is Japanese Ramen and stir fry selections. The curry is good and tastes very much like the mild golden ramen brand Japanese curry that I make at home occasionally. The chicken and broccoli added to the standard rice and carrot/potato curry mixture were of good quality. The Tonkotsu had very good pork, and surprisingly, it included broccoli as well. The more common ramen garnishes of onions, baby bock choy, egg, naruto (fish cake), and seaweed were also in this bowl and tasted good. They have a cheese, steak, and jalapeño egg roll that was amazing, and yes, you should try one. Forbidden Noodles is a great addition to downtown La Grange and for this area, this is a good choice for ramen in the area.
