“I had heard Monti's was the best place to get a Philly in Chicago, and since I've been craving one lately, I had to give it a try. I can honestly say it's the best Philly I've had in Chicago and the surrounding areas. It definitely did not disappoint.

“To the one stupid person who left a 1 star review expressing their own stupidity and inability to do their own research. This is a “ghost” restaurant. This means they don’t have their own restaurant instead they partnered with IHOP to make their orders. It’s like 2 restaurants in one. IHOP cooks make their cheesesteaks. It’s all clean and professional. This allows small businesses to test a concept or start a restaurant on a small scale via door dash or Uber eats. You can also pickup the food at IHOP as they make it there.“

I ordered medium rare and they actually understood the assignment. No A1. No steak sauce. No nonsense. Just meat and happiness.

“The customer service left much to be desired. While ordering I almost drove away because the person taking my order was rude. Any question I asked was responded to with attitude and like I was inconvenient for asking.

I’d never been before so I wanted to try a bit of everything. The cheesesteak was delicious. I got the original, knowing that if there was going to be a “best” option, this was it. It didn’t disappoint. It was well cooked, bread wasn’t too soggy, it was cut down the middle for convenience. Perfect amount of cheese, meat, and onions. I also got boneless wings with teriyaki sauce. The wings were a slightly overcooked and hard to bite into and the sauce was way too salty for me (almost like it was too much soy sauce). I got an order of the loaded fries which were messy and delicious.“

I visited this location after a disappointing experience at the 63rd and Damen restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the significant improvement in service. Irene, the server, provided exceptional service from the moment I entered. She greeted each customer with professionalism, clear communication, and genuine courtesy. I was impressed that she remembered my voice from our phone conversation about item availability, demonstrating her attention to detail and strong customer care.

The restaurant’s interior was clean and well-maintained. Irene kept her work area spotless and replaced her gloves every time she stepped away, which showcased excellent food safety practices.

While the service was exceptional, I must admit that the food did not meet my expectations. The fish, fries, and gyro had noticeable issues that affected the overall meal. Despite Irene’s superb service, the kitchen quality needs improvement.“
