Peoria Heights' best places for Mexican cuisine are in our list.
“Well, I decided to give "Good Taquillas" another shot.We were in luck!Alexis was back, and the place was back on track. We ordered a couple of Dos equis lager draft, and this time, it was a draft, not a bottle! We also got the fish tacos. Alexis again recommended the chipotle.Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. We are so happy Alexis is back!Gracias por todo y hasta pronto Amigo mio!“
“Always live Cayenne! My daughter hadn't been before and I took her for National Margarita Day! She loved everything as I always do!!! Our waitress was one of the best I've ever had! Super friendly and helpful picking out menu items! Thanks for such a great restaurant and margarita!“
“Birria tacos were great and the Carne asada burrito was probably the best I've tried in town. The beans were a little runny(doesn't bother me though) but the Spanish rice was well seasoned and perfectly fluffy(best ive had down here period.). Guy in the front was friendly and it was clean.“
“Greeted with a smile. Great location for when you're down checking out the artwork and stuff in downtown Peoria on the riverfront. I was thoroughly pleased with the quality of food that they're using. The picture is exactly the way you receive it. The volume for your money there is very reasonable.“
“My daughter in law has been recommending Casa De Arte for awhile now. I finally went with my sister and it was so delicious! Service was excellent, margarita was excellent and the food was excellent! We are going back in the near future for my sister's birthday. I highly recommend!“
“Food was bomb I wish they would’ve gave me a red salsa with my birria pizza but it was still good. Service was okay cashier was borderline rude gave the energy that he didn’t even wanna be there or he just was having a bad day which is something you should hold in and just smile and make your customers feel welcomed…atmosphere was amazing and very authentic definitely will be back for the food.“
“Fantastic food with some fun and colorful murals on the walls. They are difficult to reach by phone which is a bit of a down side as I wouldn't call their food particularly fast, but the flavors are excellent. Picked up a variety of tacos for a group of friends and they all raved about them.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tacos and a vegetarian burrito are available.“
“Thank you to Los Cabos for getting me out of a bind last minute. I had another plan in place for ground beef taco meat for a staff party and it fell through the day before. I called Los Cabos and they were able to make 10lbs of ground beef taco for me to pick up the next day. It was a hit! I’m so glad my original plan didn’t work out and we were able to have some delicious tacos from Los Cabos. I highly recommend them for your catering needs. I mean, who doesn’t love a nacho/taco bar?!?! Thanks again!“
“Odd little restaurant, they have a combination of Mexican food and American food. Everything we had was delicious. We tried Mexican, and tamales, enchiladas and a burrito. We liked everything we had. The chips are obviously homemade, and the salsa is good. There is one waitress/ hostess and one cook/ owner. Service was good, there is no alcohol, but they do have soft drinks and tea etc. Etc. Don't be put off by the neighborhood or the look of the restaurant, it is definitely worth trying.“
“The prices went up sky high the portions are way smaller used to be great it's changed hands alot of times don't think I'll b back to much grisil when u order steak meat u spit it out ? guess I'm have to mess with Champaign for Mexican food sorry um just being “
“Plenty of free parking and handicap accessible. The store was busy, it was lunchtime. The line moved slower than expected I assume the staff was busy with carry out/online orders, this thought didn't make me feel any less put upon. I made the effort to visit the store in person, I expect a little consideration. The food was quickly and correctly assembled once I finally placed my order, it was hot and well portioned.“
“A charming Mexican restaurant right off the highway. It has a nice atmosphere with paintings on all the walls and plants on ledges.I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was well seasoned (though definitely on the salty side) and the mixture of rice and cheese was wonderful. Very filling. I also ordered the fried ice cream. It is good, but misleading. It's not actually ice cream IN fried dough, but rather, a scoop of ice cream on top of a fried tortilla shell. Worth trying. The service was okay. Our waiter was attentive when he stopped by, but it was a busy lunch period, so we were waiting a while to place our orders. Then, we waited a long time for the orders to be fulfilled.Overall, would recommend for a nice lunch outside of their busy periods.Vegetarian options: Most of the menu items have a choice of meat options to include. You could just as easily opt out of adding meat.Parking: Free parking in a plaza. Plaza can get busy near the restaurant, so the available parking might be a little far away.“
“I just love the gorgeous carved wood furniture and the people are just amazing. Best shrimp nachos ever! I love to dine in (the queso is perfection) and to order carry out when i don't have time to sit. Always such a treat!Vegetarian options: Such a great Vegatarian menu, I always go for the Tosta-guac, yum!Dietary restrictions: As somebody who is severely gluten intolerant I love this place. There aren't too many places I can safely eat and I have such a large selection! Queso is the only really good, really safe cheese dip. And sub any flour tortilla with chips and you're golden! Don't forget to ask for jalapeños! They have fresh and pickled Kid-friendliness: They are wonderful with kids and even have some treats for purchase at the register. I used to take the baby here when she was tiny, she would eat handfuls of my rice and beans and chips. Such a great oasis to relax and enjoy some amazing hot food. The outside seating is also quite lovely.“
“The restaurant was clean and inviting. The waiter service was very good, always checking in on us. The fajitas with shrimp was excellent, the fajita steak strips was a little tough. My husband ordered the t-bone medium cooked it was over cooked and super tough. The waiter was kind and the owner removed the steak from the meal. I read other reviews also complaining about the steak issue being over cooked and tough. If they can solve this one issue this restaurant would be awesome! We’ll come back to try other items on the menu.“
“Food is excellent! Customer service is awful! Placed a $40+ order online but couldn’t order guac online. When I got to the store I explained I had an online order but wanted guac and would pay in store for it. It was $8.05. When I handed them my card I was told I had to spend $10 to use card. I totally get a minimum purchase to use card but pointed out I’d already spent $40+, so my entire purchase was over $50 and would have ordered the guac if I could have online. Long story short I had to also add a$1.50 queso, was still 26 cents short so they just added the 26 cents to my bill to get it to $10 so I could use my card. Then when the SAME girl was packaging my order she only put 4 salsa cups in the bag. I had ordered 5 entrees so I asked for a couple more salsas. She looked at me and said you know I have to charge you for extra salsa cups. Seriously! You just charged me 26 cents for absolutely nothing. I spoke with the manager/owner? and got nowhere. He insisted machine won’t accept purchases under $10. That may be true but it’s because YOU set it up that way. I told them I’ll be frequenting PERRICOS TACOS from now on. They have great food AND great customer service!“
“My first visit there and I ordered a 6 pack of beef tamales. All I can say, this man does a great job making tamales and is very friendly and accommodating. He is to tamales what BB King is to the blues. The price is right, the portions are excellent, and the corn meal and texture are perfect. These things will fill you up but keep you wanting to take that next bite! I had a great experience walking up to the window, ordering my tamales, and then taking them home and sharing them with my wife! I have had a few tamales in my day and for the most part, while ok, most others seem really boring and pedantic when compared to Jeff Scott tamales. Food establishments like this are a gem to have in our neighborhoods and I wish there were more like this. Give the guy 5 stars!!!!“
“Good Mexican place. It was quiet and the lighting was very comfortable. My family was treated well by staff and I could tell they were serious about their jobs. Food came up in a reasonable amount of time. The quality of the food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.“
“I have been driving by here for a few years and finally stopped in for lunch. The best tacos I have had in a long time. Go for the el pastor tacos they were amazing. Can't wait to stop in again and try a burrito. I have heard they are great too. Super friendly staff as well.“
“Quiet, airy and inviting! Fantastic quality of Mexican pastries that are given the utmost attention to detail! I had the Yuzu Green Tea and it was delicious. The staff member was nice and she greeted me with a warm smile!Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs or incline! Plenty of room inside for a wheelchair.“
“Taco johns has become my default Mexican restaurant. They've got some pretty great deals, and their burritos are sublime. Every item I've tried has been fantastic. I've tried most of the menu at this point, I would say the burritos are the main things driving me back in. But the tacos are alright, if a little boring.Taco John, if you had something like the taco bell Doritos tacos you would probably get me in even more. More flavor options for the tacos would be great.Everything about Taco Johns is starchy, but that just makes it much better after a night of drinking with friends.Be the envy of your friends and order for an NFL game, or DnD night, doesn't matter. It can be Taco Tuesday any day.“
“I had the Tacos Guanajuato, Rudy Rolls, Mexican Fried rice and the Chips and Salsa. First off the Chips and Salsa was amazing. So delicious. Thats the best Salsa I've ever had.10/10 2nd the Rudy Rolls was fresh and crispy. The meat on the inside was tasty and moist. The sauce that came with rolls was perfect, sweet a little spicy jus amazing!! 9/10. 3rd The Tacos Guanajuato. I wasn't a big fan of them. The meat was a little dry and the corn tortilla didn't have any flavor. 7/10 Last but not least the Mexican Fried Rice. It was tasty, spicy and there was so much chicken, steak and Shrimp. It was just a little salty but great overall. 9.5/10. I had a taste of the Margaritas and they were deliciously beautiful. Best Margaritas in the game 10/10. Sauce game 8.5/10 Price game 7.5/10 very expensive. Portion game 8/10. Rudy's overall 8.5 great place. My 2nd favorite Mexican restaurant in Peoria. Will come again forsure!!! Shout out to the Servers and Chefs/Cooks.“
“I am a huge Mexican food fan, and Hacienda El Mirador does not disappoint. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. Lovely outdoor patio, vegetarian options, plenty of parking. I had the three taco plate- you can choose from many options. I had pollo, carnitas, and steak tacos. If you are a margarita fan, you'll be very pleased. You can even get a flight of margaritas to try out their options!“
“Being raised in Mesa AZ, this place is so literally refreshing. The steak and chicken tacos will literally cleanse your pallet with just onion, cilantro, and a bit of cheese. Very important that the meat is fine and crispy and both the chicken and the steak is every time. Get the kids a cheese quesadilla which is very thick and filling and there’s no reason to go anywhere else nearby. Lots of various candies for the kids too.“
“Really great Mexican food. A lot of me I can os preprepared and held on n a steam table for quick service--and not claiming this is not the case, but both beef and chicken were tender and moist with great seasoning.A little spendy but by far superior to any other sit down Mexican locally. Would happily return.“
“My son and I go to Jimador on a fairly regular basis over the last three or so years. The atmosphere is very good, with plenty of space for seating and privacy. The food is very good. It's the only place I've been that has an excellent mole sauce for all chocolate lovers like me. And everything I've had there hasn't been disappointing. I give this restaurant a four, only because I've been to truly authentic Mexican restaurants in Arizona through the years that set the standard for quality Mexican food. Jimador is very close to that very high standard. The service can vary some depending on who's on the floor, but is generally good. I can highly recommend Jimador.“
“Very good. Stopped in for dinner, they had chips and salsa on our table like a minute after we sat down and had our meals to us very quickly after we ordered. Very friendly and fast service. And the food was good too!Kid-friendliness: Kids' menu“
“The ice cream was delicious and made on the premises! Was served by one the owners who was very friendly and helpful. You could hear the pride in his voice as he walked us through all the options and combinations! Decor was beautiful. Loved the atmosphere!!“
