“I would go here again and again. Food quality is excellent. What can I say about NICK the manager. Outstanding manager. He listens to customer. Make sure we leave place very happy. If you complain about food, he will replace immediately without any questions asked. He makes sure that all the customers are very happy. We order a corn soup, my wife thought it was not spiced up enough. She asked waiter to spiced up. Manager came and told her that this is the way it comes and cannot spice up. He replaced her with another type of soup and did not even charge us for that. Great place to go for diner with family and friends.“

“The service is always as warm as the dishes. The food is fusion and they make it work so well! My new favorite (replacing the shrimp tacos with makhni sauce) is the shorba (spicy tomato soup) with paneer sliders (beautiful umami grilled cheese).“

“Everything on their menu is halal. Chicken tikka masala was very good, I would recommend making their Dow little bit thicker every time we were picking up the slice the pizza fell apart. Masala fries were very good taste like chaat. Korean BBQ taco were okay I would pass on it next time.“

“The Thrupthi Foods Store - snacks side restaurant (back of the store) makes so mouthwatering Tandoori! This is our all time favorite and best item for weekend. Chicken Puff and Veg puff are so fresh and delicious . Also, I love the Alu tiki .It is so delicious and yum.
It is rare to have fresh and healthy Indian food in Chicago , fortunately you can find here . It is my number one to-go place to grab a mouthwatering snack and go. Even the biriyanis are really good. Overall food is much better than nearby Indian restaurants.“

The staff is very courteous, the food is amazing (specially Biriyanis and Beef fry..🥰)and the food is priced economically (not too cheap, nor too expensive). a great place to eat to hearts content!“

“Dining Experience On Thursday, September 4, 2025 :👇🏽 We truly enjoyed our visit to Chennai Central .If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, this is definitely a place worth visiting! We tried Chennai Central's Thursday Chaat & Dosa Buffet Launch, and it was an exceptional experience! The event drew a huge crowd, but the efficient service ensured that everyone had a great time. The ambiance of the dining room was also noteworthy, with nicely designed partitions that provided a sense of privacy, making it comfortable for guests to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. The food spread was truly impressive, with a wide variety of dishes that were fresh, authentic, and flavorful, all served piping hot. The highlight of our meal was the freshly steamed idlis, which were soft and fluffy. Our server, Sai, politely informed us about the batch, and it was a treat to enjoy them straight from the steamer. This attention to detail reminded me of my family's restaurant, where my dad would famously say, "Idlis are never sitting around waiting for customers; instead, our customers patiently wait for fresh idlis steamed to order!" It's a reminder to appreciate the value of slow, carefully prepared meals, resonating deeply with my father's motto at Chowpatti Vegetarian Restaurant - "what we cook at home for the four of us, is now being cooked for all of us in this dining room." Chennai Central's team clearly shares a similar commitment to quality. The medu vadas were superb, with my mom remarking that they were as good as, or possibly even better than, the ones she prepares at home. The Pav Bhaji was another standout dish, with a perfect balance of spices and a delightful Bombay punch - kudos to Chef Ramesh for his exceptional preparation! We also enjoyed the freshly grilled to-order home-style dosas, served with delicious sambhar and a variety of yummy chutneys. The kesari dessert was a perfect finish to our meal, with a smooth texture and just the right amount of sweetness. What made our experience even more special was the outstanding service provided by two friendly and accommodating servers, both named Sai. They were attentive, smiling, and ensured that everyone in the dining room had a great experience. 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ Dining Experience On August 20,2025 : 👇🏽 I had the pleasure of visiting Chennai Central on their very first opening day August 20,2025 and I was thoroughly impressed! The ambiance was clean and inviting, with comfortable furniture that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the evening. The food was exceptional, with standout dishes like the Masala Dosa served with three delicious chutneys that burst with authentic, bold flavors. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the personal touch from Chef Divakar and Chef Ramesh, who made rounds through the dining area to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. They even took the time to share tips on how to properly enjoy their famous layered Parottas with Korma gravy, the authentic way – by generously smothering the Korma onto the Parottas and letting the rich flavors soak in before digging in, a delightful touch! We discovered that this is a chef-owned and operated restaurant, and it's clear that their passion for authentic South Indian cuisine shines through in every dish they serve. The vegetarian biryani was particularly noteworthy – it was flavorful, comforting, and satisfying. Every bite was a testament to the freshness and care put into preparing each dish. I'm already planning my next visit – it was that good! If you're looking for authentic South Indian cuisine with a personal touch, Chennai Central is definitely worth a try.“

“If you enjoy authentic Indian food and don’t mind a bit of spice, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The whole pomfret fish fry is seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection—easily one of the highlights. The goat keema is another must-try entrée, packed with flavor and paired perfectly with their soft, well-made naan.
They’ve also recently added street-style Chinese dishes, and those are surprisingly amazing as well. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone craving bold, flavorful food!“
