“We ate at the BratHaus on Tuesday for lunch. The food and service was excellent and the owner, Jerry, was kind enough to listen to stories of my childhood, working in the hardware store that my great grandfather started back in the early 1900s. Was lucky enough to work for my grandpa there while in middle school. Great to see some of the original things that have been kept. We will be back next time we visit.“

“We have been going there for the last five years bragging about the hamburgers. Went there today order the hamburger it came out. Almost fully well done very poor quality. One asked If I could have gotten it rare was told menu says medium well. Meat was of a quality as if it was cooked earlier this week. Definitely will not be going back for hamburgers. Was told by the waitress No one will ask you how you want it done it says on the menu. We used to consider it best burger in town.“

“My family of six ate at Culvers in McHenry on Tuesday, Dec 31 about 1:30. We were greeted with a pleasant hello. The lady who took our order got it right and was pleasant.Since were a group of 6, I figured it would take a little longer to get our order. That wasn't the case. Not only did the order come quickly, but is also accurate. That was wonderful! When we were nearing the end of our meal, a gentleman, (Jude, I believe) can around with free samples of the flavor of the day (Mint explosion). Never has that happened at Colvers to me in the many times I eat at different Culvers! What a nice touch! Upon leaving, we got a cheery Thank you, have a great day and happy new year. I wish I lived a little closer because Culvers in McHenry would definitely be my go to place. Thank you for good food and the kindness you all showed.“

“While in town for a funeral we stopped to have dinner with the family. Later that evening we realize a wallet had been lost. In addition to being 40 minutes away that night we live 5 hours away and this was a major inconvenience. The next morning on the way to the funeral home I made contact with the restaurant and asked that they check around for the wallet. After several IMMEDIATELY RETURNED messages, they found it! Of course this was a huge relief. In addition to being impressed with the quick response, concern and empathy for our situation…the dining experience was amazing. Great views. Comfortable seating for our large party and REALLY good food. Chrissy if you’re reading this, you are the reason I’ll be back again. 😍“

“I want to begin by saying that we love this place. BUT, the service and food were just horrible. My husband's wings were good but my nachos were terrible. The lack of beef was covered up with lettuce and triple helping of sour cream. I left hungry. We usually stay for more than 1 drink, but I had to get out of there due to a very miserable child screaming for its mother to pay attention to her. Just an overall unpleasant experience.“

Not too big, well lit and a friendly crowd. I was told that I had to try the food. Whenever I first try a new place, I usually try a burger of it's on their menu. Lots of smoked meats are available here as well! Brisket, ribs, wings etc. Quite the selection! I got the bacon cheeseburger and omg! It was BANGIN!! Come hungry too cause it's a half pound of mouth watering beefy deliciousness! The crinkle cut fries are an awesome addition to this monster burger as well. 😋 I ended up staying longer than expected as some people that I knew showed up and it was worth it! Great time here. I'll definitely be back (if they allow me) Did I mention the awesome bartender? 😎 Highly recommended.“

“I’ve worked here over 3 years. I love this bar, I love the customers, my bosses are great. We have live music or karaoke every single weekend. Our kitchen is open until 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM Friday and Saturday. The fryers are on until 2 AM seven days a week. Friday and Saturday we offer giant slices of homemade pizza for $5 slice until they’re gone. We are fully handicap accessible, two ramps for indoor and back deck access. We have a large selection of canned and bottled beers, huge selection of hard liquor, seltzer, iced teas, etc.. We have RC products on the gun, but also offer Coke and Pepsi products in the can. We can pretty much customize any menu item within reason. Our kitchen staff is incredible. I tell people we are a bar with restaurant quality food. We do have a large dining room that is kid friendly. Definitely bring your appetite, our portions are large, but absolutely delicious.“

Today - based on the owner's recommendation - we started with a cupl of their meat and veggie soup that did not make it on the official menu - sorry missed a photo of it - delish! 😍 Pork, chicken and beef in a savory broth chock full of veggies - carrots, celery, onion 🤤 followed that with the egg salad appetizer, one of our absolute favs 🤩 4 toasted rounds of bread with their excellent egg salad 👍 then we tried the new potato pancakes entree for the first time, which came topped with assorted grilled veggies, plus toast, eggs and hollandaise sauce.. we got the eggs scrambled, rye toast buttered, sauce on the side, and requested a side of sour cream. YUM 😋 ended up with the vanilla cake with vanilla frosting - sorry to miss a photo of that too. Awesome! Service was timely, water glasses attentively refilled, as was the coffee too. $31 Note: it was one order of each item as we always split 🤯 We also got 2 bloody Marys and 2 mimosas, plus a Bailey's, kahlua and amaretto mix to add to our coffee as a nightcap from Old Bridge Tavern next door $48 Left with no leftovers and completely satisfied, happy and full.“

The salmon was cooked perfectly & hubby loved his shrimp tacos. Hubby also said the tab beer was perfect. He could tell the beer lines were clean & the beer was nice and cold! We will be back for sure. A+ experience.“
