“From the outside looking in, I was drawn to in with the blinking lights. However, it could use a bit more lights to mark the entrance driveway.Once we entered, we were curious with how the food would be. Other reviews appear to wonder about this as well. The interior atmosphere is filled with antiques and charm. The video slot machines is what I believe give reason for pause. The very reasonable prices might even make folks wonder as well! :-)When the food arrived, we didn't have to wonder anymore. The ribs, the salad, and the hot dogs we ordered were all excellent!Now that we're over the hump of wondering, you'll want to come back more and more. The price AND TASTE will not scare you!“

“I actually like this McDonald's enough to leave a review. Staff is noticeably friendly and clean looking. They are quick and efficient. Never had an issue with our order even when we ordered 30+ breakfast sandwiches for a party we had.“

“All around, a nice place, people, and staff. The hostess was very friendly. The waitress Mary was very attentive, always making sure everything was ok. The reason for coming there was for Friday AYCE fish fry for $14.95. It was very good. Ordered fried and baked cod. Both were very good, but my preference is always baked. I will definitely be back to try other food selections. They have a big food menu. And specials threw out the week. Be warned that parking can be hard to find.“

“We played a show at the theater next to this place. Had dinner here. WOW!!!! The service was very good and friendly. But the food!! I had a huge burger with bacon, egg, and hashbrowns. It was huge and incredible. Wife had a chicken wrap, she said was incredible as well. The incredible food combined with the small town friendly atmosphere makes this place well worth the stop. I love how they "branded" the bun.“

Burger and large cheese fry for $15. Worth every penny. I’ll be back with more people especially after a round across the road. Merktz cheddar fries.“

“First time here. Not much to look at on the outside, but nice casual atmosphere and good food inside, plus a great view of the lake.Shared corned beef egg rolls and pretzel bites. Our main courses were blt wrap, Reuben, and cheeseburger. All really good. See pictures. Finally, servers were very friendly. Will go back again.“

“First time at Vickie's yesterday! Food was great , the docks are decent and has a beautiful view. Really great spot for delicious burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Didn't get a chance to try the pizza, but really the whole menu looks amazing. Friendly service, fun cocktails, and a scenic waterfront setting make this a great spot for casual dining. The servers were polite and great by treating customers so well. They gave everything from bringing extra napkins to refilling our drinks without having to ask. Definitely will be coming back again !“

“We had our Christmas party at Mary’s Hideway. We were a party of 11. Mary and Carla were very attentive making sure we were taken care of. Service and food was great! Variety of food and drinks and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!“

“I was here with my daughter for dinner one night. My chicken sandwich was rubbery. It didn’t have a good texture to it at all. I’m not sure why, but it’s never happened before here. The rest of the meals were great. We are always greeted with a smile and with friendliness. An older gentleman brought our food out to our car. He was very sweet. I didn’t catch his name tag, but we liked him a lot.“

The ambiance of the restaurant was very classic and calm and there was nice music with a view of IL 120. During my order the guy accidentally clicked 2 Italian beefs and before giving the food he simple apologized and gave the money back for the extra sandwich. Very respectful.“

“My good friend Maureen threw a party here for her granddaughter’s 9th birthday a few weeks ago and the owner/manager Selena went above and beyond to make her day special! She set up tables and extra crowns. There was Halloween coloring sheets for the kids and she made ordering meals and getting drinks for a party of 13 easy!“

“Dustys will always hold a special place in my heart, so I'm grateful this place is still open. I've tried a handful of items from them- pizza is usually pretty good (sometimes the cheese is a little excessive), the pasta specials on Thursday night can't be beat, and overall it's nice to have a pizza option close to home. The staff inside always seems to be grumpy or just non existent, but again, Dustys spoiled me, maybe that's just how people act now. Either way, glad it's still around and serving us on the East side!“

“Full disclosure, I'm not a fan of hamburger-based monarchies as a general rule.I used to appreciate a Whopper now and then, but I've only stopped at a BK maybe a dozen times in the last 20 years. And when I did, I would usually regret it shortly thereafter.But this review is not a screed against the BKs of my past, it is a critique of one particular visit to this particular Burger King. It was a breakfast drive through order, consisting of two sausage egg croissant sandwiches and a breakfast burrito.Pros: Everything was hot, and if it wasn't freshly prepared, it seemed to be. It wasn't more than it aimed to be, and the sandwiches tasted like I remember them.The folks who took my order and payment were pleasant and personable.Cons: Capitalism (and greed) has resulted in ever decreasing sized items - and increased costs at Burger King. This is not the fault of franchisees, nor the workers in the restaurants - but the blatant push to generate ever-increasing share prices (by the fund management firms that buy up fast food chains like BK) is obvious and evil.“
