“I stopped there in the drive through to get one soft taco before my grandson’s baseball game. No drink or anything else. A few days later I saw I was charged 6.52 from my checking account. I’ve tried numerous times calling and it keeps telling me that the voicemail has not been set up. I tossed my receipt in the recycling can with other paperwork from my car. Watch your receipts and make sure you are not over charged. Someone is pocketing extra money.“

“Our kiddos just love it here. Our son asked multiple times to come back here, so we did and him and his sister were living their best life. It’s nice to be able to enjoy adult time because kiddos are distracted by the fun and entertaining decor and environment. We have ordered via delivery a couple times, but we all really prefer to physically go here when can. Great service, great food and great overall experience. One of our local favs.“

“Ordered for my daughters end of year softball party. Everyone absolutely loved all of it!! We ordered chicken, barbacoa, and steak tacos with tamales. My husband, who LOVES tamales, asked why we didn't order more for just us and the girls and their siblings gobbled all of the tacos up. Every parent asked for contact information. Highly recommend. Hoping to order more in December!!“

“Food was soooo good tried the restraunt in the back today after coworker made the recommendation and was not disappointed! 3 tacos and I was full my boyfriend had 5 and had a hard time finishing. Love the little shop growing up in Arizona there were tons of little places like this I used to frequent so finding something that reminds me of home made my day! Will definitely be back. “Usually order for delivery. Food is fantastic. For delivery, the orders are packed really well by wrapping the containers in plastic wrap to avoid spills. Never had a disappointing experience over the last year or so of ordering from The Patroons.“

“Went in on Sunday, location was cleaned inside and outside the restaurant. There was enough parking behind the restaurant. Food was amazing, had menudo de res which was great, hot and they also gave me chile de arbol to add spiciness to the menudo. Also ordered a molcajete fajita meal for 2, my daughter and I could hardly finish it. It has so much meat with rice and beans on the side. I really got my money worth. Staff was extremely nice and friendly, they attended to us in a timely manner, for a family of 6.“

I’ve heard complaints at other locations, not Fox Lake. Very helpful and patient.Restaurant was very clean. The empty tables were all ready for customers to come in to eat.Decent amount of parking for the strip mall.Menu is laid out nicely. Good variety. Prices are competitive depending on what you get. I didn’t notice anything extremely expensive or inexpensive. I think maybe their fajitas are priced lower than other restaurants in the area. I usually prefer to stay to eat fajitas so maybe next time.Food was not only delicious BUT FILLING! Omgshhhh… I ate half and had to take a nap to sleep ? off my full tummy! “Sisters Donuts catered my wedding in August! The donuts were absolutely divine, and the presentation was beyond beautiful. They even personalized the donuts and sprinkles to match my wedding colors. It looked absolutely gorgeous! The customer service was top-notch too. Jenny was super sweet and so attentive. I can't recommend them enough, a perfect 10/10!“

“Dyn. A. Mite! We've visited four times and the food has always been mouth wateringly good. The shrimp burrito dinner is heaven on a plate, and HUGE! Booth seats are not very comfortable, but frankly the food is so good that you don't even notice once it starts coming (and they're good for your posture!). Chips and salsa are complimentary. Drinks are good. There's a small gaming area to the side of the dining room for those inclined. My wife likes the machines and won around $400 dollars there (net), so they seem programmed generously. This is obviously a family enterprise staffed by Mom and kids as well as others. Prices are reasonable for this economy, no better or worse than others. Can't recommend it enough. I hope they're there until way past the day I die.“

“This restaurant had amazing food. The carnita tacos were seriously some of the best i've eaten in a very long time. Staff was very friendly as well. If you are looking for ambiance, this is NOT the place. This is as authentic as it gets. Very similar to living in Mexican neighborhoods in the city of Chicago or visiting small towns in Mexico.“

“I was really loving the food here but its a little expensive. I was plan on returning often until I seen my bill and was charged $2.00 for a glass of water. It was not a bottle of water just tap water. It was a small glass of water and I have never paid so much for a glass of water to go with my order. So much for the yummy food!“

“Called to place an order but they didn’t answer. I was just going to wait a few minutes thinking they were just busy and they actually called me back within 1 minute! I’ve never had customer service that good. We love their food and order from here all the time. Highly recommend!“

“Great restaurant and staff. Wife said their HOMEMADE hamburgers made her order standout. I noticed the Blueberry glazed crepes. I ordered that and told them that I normally have the glazed strawberries. She said they have them also. So I changed my order to strawberries. Later she said that she wants to combine the blueberry and strawberry over the holidays (Memorial and the 4th) for a red white and blue item. The white was the white sauce that they normally inject into their crepes. Not to many restaurants inject the cream sauce anymore. She later came with some blueberries for me to add and try. Must say that that was the best crepes I ever had. Told her to name them - Patriotic Crepes. If you're ever in Lake Geneva, stop in this quaint restaurant that makes you feel at home“

“I do not know if this place was bought out. I believe the old name was el gordo. Which I tried when I first moved to McHenry and was disappointed. El Vado Satisfied my hunger really good and fresh food! I wish we could have raised the volume on the music. I forgot to take a picture of my food I ordered a torta de milanesa and it was so delicious! I have to point out the host and the guy that was helping him seat the people as they were coming in they both were very fast at cleaning up and getting them seated right away! Great service! Good job! I would definitely return!“

“This is a great restaurant, the employees are friendly and conversational. I was greeted by the friendly wait staff here, and my delivery was ready and in time. Television is on and I like that. Wheeler Dealers was on, thats fun. Food smells really good. And the place is clean, big time!“

“Amazing. The food is authentic; the meat not laced with a stupid amount of gristle. The spices are insanely good - you can TASTE the marinade they take the time to do.My friends and I ate there and it's pretty clear they do not have many dine-in customers. But we were tended to perfectly.An aside, a person in an electric wheel chair showed up and asked for a burrito in exchange for her name and phone number and a promise to pay. They didn't hesitate. My group and people from the kitchen came out offering to lift them into the restaurant . They declined but the kitchen made her her burrito.Perfect food. Perfect addition to a productive and caring society. They don't seem to get many dine-in customers but the experience was fantastic.I cannot recommend this place enough. A+, 10/10. Delicious food, sympathetic workers.“

“This was my first time here and I was very impressed. Very good food and very friendly staff. We want late on a Thursday so we have no idea how the view is but given how good the food was I don't know it would have mattered. We got fresh quac which was amazing and shrimp fajitas. Chips were fresh and warm and portions were large. This was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants thus far.“

“I'm a regular here (I live just 5 minutes from there) and their food has always been very good. Service is great even on the days that they are very busy. I also order takeout food from here almost weekly, especially on Tuesdays when they have their taco specials going and the tacos for takeout are less than $2.00 each. I will usually get 4-6 steak tacos on those days along with a tamale on the side and a refreshing Horchata to wash everything down. Why cook at home for myself when I can just come here to get my dinner and either eat inside or take my food home to eat. They also have a delicious taco dinner that comes with 3 tacos of your choice with a side of refried beans and some Spanish Rice. I've tried most of the food items on their menu and have never been disappointed. The prices are also very reasonable for the meal that you're getting. I would highly recommend them to anyone who happens to be in the area or reasonably close by.“
