“We have gotten several dishes, several times from here. The traditional pizza is great. Very authentic. The sicilian special is fantastic as well. The meat ball subs and calzones are also favorites of ours. VERY Generous potions for the price. Not a bad wait. The owners are very transparent about the wait if you ask. We eat here every Friday and love it!“

There was no carb information so I asked the waitress if there was any chance I could get that since my son is Type 1 diabetic. Without hesitation, she went back and spoke with the cook and manager. We had the carb information we needed and had 0 issues ordering. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. The manager even came and went over the carb information with us. Thank you for helping ease this mommas mind. Something as simple as ordering a meal can be tricky for a child with type 1. And you didn’t snub us or treat us any differntly. Sadly, that does tend to happen a lot when asking that simple of a question. Our food was amazing and so was the service. We will most definitely be back!“

Just two complaints, the sliver of cheesecake was way too pricey for the little sliver they served and it tasted like frozen cheap kind, second the crab Rangoon was delicious but way too small for the price. “My name is Mike Lawrence. I began coming to Joe’s when it was still located in a somewhat decrepit house located just one door west of the building it’s now in. The front porch on that old house was loose and would bounce or sag a bit when you walked across it and my joke to guests I took in there with me, was they should carefully walk around that bad spot when we left because we’d all be heavier from having eaten and would probably fall through.

My daughter lost her first baby tooth while eating Spaghetti at Joe’s. She’s now 43 so, yeah, we’ve been coming for decades; certainly since the days when Joe Porcasi ran it.

All the food was great and, through all those years, I NEVER heard anyone say anything bad about the food, the service, the price, nothing … until now.

I guess it’s to be expected, especially in the food industry. Over time people weary of doing the same job day after day, get tired of serving the same food to the same people. Pride in performance gives way to pet peeves and personal pity parties. Oh, I get it. I do.

The reviews I read now talking about bad service, bad food, no longer being able to dine in … none of that would EVER have been true back in the day. Back when we came and sat down, talked, laughed, took in the awesome smells, and delighted when the food came. Even standing up to get the door for someone exiting with boxes of pizzas and more to take home to loved ones. Man, those were the best of times.

When we first found Joes, we didn’t go to any other shop in town. Why, when you’d found the best, would you want to go anywhere else?

We had even talked, briefly, with the original owners about opening a franchise on the east side of Springfield. Wish we’d carried through with that instead of opening a restaurant. Ah, well.

I don’t know if it’s still there, but I donated a kitchen chef statue to Joe’s when Jeff bought the place. Used to be right up on the counter.

I live in St. Louis now but, from time to time, when I long for one of Joe’s pizzas, or meatball subs, or lasagnas … and it’s only a 200 mile round trip but, frankly, some of the reviews have kinda bummed me out about doing it.

The side was the pork fried rice which was just right as well. The juice from the noodles soaked into the rice making each bite even better. Overall the meal was an 8.7, was surprised by the solid meal I got here and will return when I'm back in the area.“

“Some of the best pizza we've had in a long while. We came for late lunch, everything was still hot and fresh after 2p. Pizza was great, but dessert was phenomenal. Staff was very sweet, good music was playing even though we were the only ones in other than staff. It's a much better pizza hut, we will definitely be back.“

“Grungy places tend to have the best greasy spoon food. I ordered chicken wings and a combo with gizzards, shrimp and catfish. The food was good and satisfied my cravings. The only feedback is that the business uses Styrofoam. Especially with fried items, Styrofoam needs to be vented to avoid making the food soggy. Fried foods need to remain crispy in texture.“

They had a party of 12 walk in right before us, with only 1 cook. they done their best to make it fast to seat us, and others. Usally we wouldn't wait that long, but all the staff was extremely friendly and working hard to please all customers. 1 young waitress cause she didn't have a sitter and had to bring her little boy to work with her... But SHE WAS THERE! working her butt off. we told her to put him with us, we played with him until the grandma cane to pick him up. The whole team worked together great. they were all young. my husband and I sat there and enjoyed our meal, while watching this young crew admiring them all for their dedication to try their best to do what they had to do to please their customers and provide for their families. kudos to this IHOP, for a job well done today.
