“Stopped here for dinner alone today after visiting the Reddick Mansion, Washington Park, and antique shopping. I loved the atmosphere, grounds, and farm experience. The host was actually friendlier and more talkative explaining to me about different dishes than my server, Stacy, who really didn't talk to me other than to take my order, ask how the food was, and if I wanted desert. I had lemonade and Chicken Oscar with mashed potatoes, $30. The chicken was quite large, average flavor, and potatoes were ok. Salad bar was included at no additional cost. They had 4 different loafs of bread, along with different pasta and potatoe salads, and a large variety of salad dressings and toppings, which I enjoyed. Prices were quite high which surprised me so better to come here with a date, partner, or group of friends than large family, but they did offer a kids menu. Atmosphere was fun, lively, and low key, casual. Large wood booths, tables and chairs, good quality. Overall, I'd come again and maybe just get the chips and fish at $17.“

“My family and I come to Last Chance very often. My husband and I went for our anniversary this last May because the bartenders, establishment and food have always been phenomenal. The girls who work there go above and beyond when my small kids are with us and we really do love spending time there. This last Thursday someone was working who I had not seen before.. and to say the least I thought she was very rude. I was almost embarrassed because we had friends in town and were so excited to show them our new favorite spot. She said she would not take our food order outside, we had to go in and get our own drinks, and when food came out I had to grab it from her as she made no effort to come down the ramp and set it down at our table. I’m not one to complain but I really wasn’t impressed with the bluntness and cold shoulder attitude. I think her name was Alexis. We will be back, as I really can’t say enough how great this place is. I really hope it was a fluke.“

“The food here is amazing. Its food you will dream about at night. If you have leftovers I doubt they make it through the nite. Thats how good it is. A few of our favorites, The Monte Cristo. The gyro sandwich, the gyro wrap, believe it or not the liver and onions are amazing too. The owner is generally always there. And they just hired a new waiter Nico - she is absolutely amazing. Shes super detailed oriented and actually loves what she does and it shows. We can't wait to eat here again.“

“PSA to paddlers: They do have a canoe/kayak launch, but it doesn't look like it's been used in years and consists of very steep, narrow, rotting steps that are dicey to maneuver. We did manage to get a canoe and four kayaks down to launch there but I wouldn't recommend it. Probably better to launch from the bridge at Highway 52 (although I have no personal experience there).“

Service was hit or miss, good at beginning then kinda forgotten about looking for sides we had ordered and not been delivered and needing more water.“

“We were in the area for a few days and stopped in for dinner and drinks. We loved the soup and the atmosphere of the bar. But best of all, Sarah was the best bartender. She was friendly and fun while keeping on top of our food and drinks, even anticipating what we might want. We had such a nice time we went out of our way to return a second night.“

“Huge fan especially if you live on the far north side of town. They forgot my order and didn't charge me for it at the end, which was too generous. A wide array of beers are available. Lots of bar games and they'll play the game you want as well. Great spot.“
