“We came here as a large group of 15 and the staff did a great job setting up tables outdoors quickly to accommodate us. The pizza itself was very good, and we all enjoyed the food. Our server seemed fairly new but was really putting in the effort, which we appreciated.

The only downside was that someone nearby was smoking, which took away from the experience since we had a pregnant guest and four very young children with us. The Smoke-Free Illinois Act applies to all outdoor eating and drinking areas, making it illegal to smoke there if employees are present to serve food which they were. The staff did not enforce this law which we felt they should have. We hope management can train their staff on this issue and that the staff enforce it.

All in all it was a good outing and the place has a lot of potential for families and groups.“

“I've been a long time fan dating back to when they were in Calumet city. I've used them for catering several times with great success. always enjoy stopping in to grab something to eat as well. I do miss the bone-in pork chop sandwich but I can understand how selling that might be a bit of a liability. LOL all in all, the place never disappoints“

“I had a catered event on October 2nd. The food was excellent!! Especially the Italian beef and Mac and cheese. Went to drop off stuff snd decided to have lunch since we were there. The Reuben was to die for!! As was the beef sandwich. We also loved the fries. Thank you Jim for making the food for our 30th anniversary party . I would highly recommend using them for all of your catering needs. And if you are in Thorton, pick up lunch. You won’t regret it.“

“It was a very positive experience beginning with the classic gin martini I ordered. Our server arrived with a chilled glass, a frosty shaker, and an olive and a lemon twist, as I requested. He proceeded to shake and pour, let it rest for a moment and then pour again. Ahhh...what a delicious beginning to a delicious meal with friends. “These guys have been on my list for a while and it was worth the wait. THIS IS PIZZA. Bridgeport phils still has my heart but this place just bumped into the 2/3 spot for me. TOP 3 Chicago pizzeria.

Crust: this is what did it for me. The crust was a perfect thickness and kept its structure/ crisp throughout the whole pizza

Sauce: they’re cooking down their own sauce I believe. It’s got a touch of that fresh tomato sweetness. Nothing over powering, just a great classic sauce

Sausage/cheese: high quality Battaglia products. Traditional cheese blend and good sausage. Nothing crazy in this category but definitely brings their pizza together

Both are excellent. The Ruben is the best Ruben I have ever eaten in my entire life hands-down you must get! We also had a vanilla shake and the large sizes are ginormous . The food servings are very generous, everything is very shareable. They even have an area where you can grab a beer if you’d like. The restaurant has a large sitting area and there is a covered back patio. Service is excellent and the restaurant very clean. A great place to stop!“

“My only complaint is I’m mad I just found out about this place. We ordered a sausage pizza, it’s right up there in my top 5 best pizza’s. It’s very well seasoned and they don’t skimp on the sausage. “My husband and I have been there several times. Unfortunately this Friday I was disappointed in our meals. I ordered the spaghetti seemed like the pasta was a touch overcooked and the marinara sauce was very bland. My husband’s chicken parmesan was huge but the chicken had no flavor other than the crispy breading. Love the Special salad and the pizza! “I ordered a medium, thin crust, sausage pizza. The pizza was ready earlier than estimated. The pizza was delicious, hot, and perfectly flavored. The sausage had fennel seeds in it. The sauce was mild and light. The only negative is the size of the pizza. The medium serves 16 square/triangle slices. The medium looks like a small.

The cashier was friendly and courteous. A person in the back, I assume was the owner, was courteous.

Parking: The restaurant is in a small strip mall area, so the lot is shared with other businesses. The main street is busy, but additional parking could be located in the area.“

“On August 1 at about 7pm I entered Barraco’s. I stood for about 5 to 8 minutes waiting for a hosts to come greet me and my family to be seated. I had my husband walk over to the bar to ask for a host to seat us. While waiting two other people came in and we all stood for another 5 to 8 minutes waiting on a host to arrive. Once the host came and seated us our waiter Joe took over from there. Joe took drink orders, appetizer, and food orders. For drinks I order the pomegranate martini which was OUTSTANDING. For an appetizer we ordered the oysters, Rockefeller they were average. Seemed undercooked because not all the spinach was cooked all the way. For entree we ordered a large pizza half cheese half pepperoni sausage bell peppers onions and mushrooms. After getting the appetizer Joe never returned to ask us how it was and if we needed anything. I had to stop another waiter to ask for napkins. When he finally did come back I made him aware and he said he was servicing 5 other tables. Joe began to set the table and almost dropped the pizza holder and crush peppers on me. When the pizza came out it was wrong he served us a whole pizza with pepperoni sausage bell peppers etc. it was a bummer for my family because I have a 7 year and a one year old. Who didn’t eat that. He apologized but didn’t rectify the issue. It was pass 8 pm now and my family was unsatisfied and I watched as my kids basically threw the slices away by picking off everything. Joe was very apologetic and gave us oysters to go but at 9 pm what can oysters do for my family but sit in the refrigerator. I love this pizza place. I may stick to carry out. For this to be my first experience and I told my husband I wanted to dine in to see the ambience from the inside I was highly disappointed.“

“Great pizza all around!! All the ingredients taste fresh, and the pizza is always in perfect shape when you get the box in your hands. Crust is thin and extremely crispy(order it well done). They bring the pizza out to your car when you pick it up. Great service, great pizza.“
